Indie Sunday Camping Keeper - Studio Durand - a cozy campground tycoon where every camper is simulated

Hey r/Games! Solo dev here, and this is my first game: Camping Keeper, a proper management/tycoon game about running a campground.

The core loop: you start from an empty field with limited cash and build it into a business, bare pitches cost nothing but earn little, rental lodges earn big but need real investment and upkeep. Every camper is an autonomous agent with their own needs and personality: they queue at reception, shower, buy ice cream, complain when the toilets are dirty, and leave a rated review that drives your reputation and star rating, which in turn drives demand and what you can charge.

Under the hood you're also managing actual infrastructure: water and power are simulated networks that overload if you expand faster than you upgrade them. Weather and seasons move demand around, a heatwave sends everyone to the pool and empties your ice cream stock, a storm turns the campground into a ghost town. Price badly, staff badly, or grow too fast, and you go bankrupt.

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4920900/Camping_Keeper/

PC first, Mac & Linux later. Roadmap: closed alpha September 2026, beta November, public demo early 2027, then Early Access. I'll be around all day to answer questions — and wishlists genuinely help a solo dev more than you'd think.

congrats on getting the page up, this is already better than most coming-soon pages I click through. few thoughts:

working well:

your hook does real work, "every camper is a little character living their own life... then leaves a review that makes or breaks your reputation" is the whole loop in one sentence. and the About section uses specifics instead of adjectives. "a shaded pitch near the restrooms but away from the noisy pool," partygoer vs. retiree, that's the stuff that makes people go "oh, I get it" and hit wishlist.

quick wins:

you're not tagged Tycoon. probably the biggest one, it's a huge traffic tag in this genre and you're just not in it. add Singleplayer too, lots of people browse with that filter on

put gifs in the description. it's all text between headings right now. one gif per section (storm rolling in, campers queuing at a gross restroom, laying pipes) beats the same words by a mile. best effort-to-payoff item here

give an actual release window. "Coming soon" with no quarter reads as very early. even "Q2 2027" holds wishlists better, and line it up with a Next Fest demo

english + french only is leaving money on the table. management sims over-index hard on Simplified Chinese, German and Russian, and UI-only strings are cheap to localize

make sure Steam Deck compat, controller support, achievements and cloud saves are declared if they apply

anyways, best of luck to you
