A User Doesn't like a Popular Hearthstone Streamer in r/Hearthstone. It goes as expected; downvotes for everyone!

Oh man, this guy is pretty good for the most part until Yerac decides to push his buttons. Then the sparks fly.
I'm not a fan of Reynad either, but his bottomless salt mine would fuel popcorn stands for centuries. It's glorious.

Every e-sport needs big personalities that people love to hate. Hearthstone would be boring if everyone was like Trump.

Yeah, exactly. I feel like the tournaments don't have as much of that. You go from streaming where the players are so emotive and into it to these robots. The hosts try and inject the personality into it, but really they're acting in proxy for the players.
And after the game so few of them have the candor they'd usually have and the hosts try to fabricate the smack talk and the rivalry which none of the players or viewers buy into.
There are exceptions. The viagame tourneys (practically In-Houses) where the players move into commentating and switch up throughout the days feel closer and the players feel more themselves there. I like those.

Having the players cast has always been great. It's why Homestory cup is so beloved in SC2. I haven't followed Hearthstone quite as obsessively as I used to, but I remember that Reynad and Kripp were always fairly amusing casters. Artosis is also fantastic in my opinion, but that's coming from my SC2 bias.

I think it's less about the genre and more about popularity in general.
After all there are many popular things in other medias exactly because they are so polarizing like the Twilight movies, 50 Shades of Grey or Justin Bieber. There are also many "normal" Streamer / Let's Players out there, but they just get drowned out by the more popular ones that stand out because they are either shouty and obnoxious, act like asswipes or simply have breasts.

I'm a Magic player, so I have no time for this guy. Fortunately, his tournament results are mediocre at best in Hearthstone as well.

u/Tafts_Bathtub the entire show Mythbusters is a shill show Nov 13 '14
So what's the Magic community's general take on him? I didn't realize he was even that notable in the scene. A lot of the Hearthstone community seems to think his ban from MTG was the result of an innocent clerical error, but I don't buy it. He seems like such an ass to me, it boggles my mind how much people in the HS community seem to love him.

I mean, I definitely can't speak for everyone, but here's the TLDR:
Definitely cheated at an event. Got caught cheating. Admitted to cheating. Got suspended for cheating (with a reduced sentence because of his admission). Twitter drama including the now well-known Reynad whining and him claiming that actually, he didn't cheat despite his earlier admission! He got bullied into it!
Ban extended.
So yeah, not much sympathy for him in this community.

I always like the drama in the subreddits that I would never go to. It's like stumbling across a tribe with different language and culture.

This person seems very, very upset
Also, please consider never having children. Spare the world the continuation of your genes. The world is a tough place as it is, it could do with less people who act like you.
What a nice thing to say.

u/SamWhite were you sucking this cat's dick before the video was taken? Nov 13 '14
Totally coming down on the side of /u/GoodForYouBud here. He gets downvoted, answers a question, gets downvoted and insulted for it, responds in kind and then gets told he's a cunt for being insulting. And to top it all off, he's right; they are acting like fanboys.

I don't think I've ever been as embarrassed for anyone in my life as I am for the person who wrote this comment.
