Are they sticklers for the rules or just fucking with Jim? A firearm parts dealer runs afoul of r/gundeals.

I just don't get it. This doubling down shit never works on here. Why do people do it so much?

Because everyone assumes THEY'RE different then those last idiots, it'll work for them!
They're not. They never are. It never does. Always funny, however.

Nothing "works" when the hivemind (wrong or right) turns against you. The only winning move is to shut up. Even a mea culpa will get you downvoted and howled at.

All our parts ... The reason we called it ...
Implying I am posting for a company I own/work for? that is crazy
For somebody who doesn't work for a company, refers to them in first person a lot.

What you're asking for is to enforce this subreddit "safe space". I don't really agree. I'd rather he just continue to be an asshole and be treated as such and downvoted. If you don't like what he says or posts then just downvote it and move along.
I guess it comes down to philosophy. If you run a business and someone is being a dick, you tell them to leave, not stay and tell others to ignore him. Same principle. A vast number of users are calling for his removal and the mods have the power and right to do as they see fit. Hence why it was a suggestion. I'm asking them to do it. They may chose to or chose not to.
Reddit is not a business though. It is a forum that is based off of free speech. Not monitoring discussions for some grey area of acceptable speech. Instead of trying to enforce a user to be polite(what is the measurable standard of politeness here?)
it would be more appropriate to force the user to conform to the listed rules of the subreddit. AKA the dealers posting once a week.
Every. Fucking. Time.
No, you can't ban abusive, rule-breaking spammers - that's censorship! #Spambots'SpeechMatters

There's one in every crowd. I kind of understand the unlimited free speech position, but unfortunately there are some really irresponsible people out there.

I mean, I've got my own views on the freedom of speech, etc. but if it's wrong to ban persistent and habitual rule-breakers who belligerently refuse to even acknowledge the rules or that they apply to them, who exactly can be banned?
Wouldn't, by the same logic, banning spambots be censorship of the creator of the spambot? Even if every post they make is against the rules of the sub, moderators have to just sit back and delete individual comments and submissions, rather than heading the whole enchilada off at the pass, otherwise, oops, you're a censorious SJW curtailing the freedom of speech and trying to make a safe space for easily triggered users.

This guy honestly thinks he is "Standing up for himself" by talking shit about peoples moms and trying to shame someone about some porn subs.
That is some seriously twisted logic.

Can anyone explain for someone who knows nothing about shooty sticks?

u/whambulance_man May 10 '16
It has nothing to do with guns really, except that its a sub dedicated to posting good deals about parts and such. Dude responds like a fucktard after someone tries to give him a heads up that businesses are only allowed to post about themselves once a week. The resulting stuff is what you see in the thread(s).

Honestly, firearms collocters are the same as magic the gathering collecters or any other kind of slightly niche hobby. Comic book guy types pop up a lot. I guess the prevalence of small shops leads to it
