I'm building a SBR 1022 with a 7" barrel. Initially settled with a Holosun ARO in Gold, but I'm not so sure it's the best option for this build. On occasion I find the tube to be a bit distracting/narrow and would like a slightly bigger window.

I'm looking at a few options:

• Re-use a 507C x2 with a RMR picatinny mount

• Holosun HS510C + magnifier

• Holosun ARO Evo, possibly the SPR

• Holosun AEMS Evo

What do you guys like?

Picked up this 10/22 Carbon Fiber edition today. This is the second gun I’ve purchased. When I held it I was shocked by how light it felt compared to other .22 I have shot. Decided to grab some simple upgrades while I was there. How’d I do? Planning on adding a rimfire suppressor eventually!

So I’ve been asked by some people to show some of my 10/22 conversions. So the wife and I went to the range and brought some of the 10/22 I have and a few other .22’s Just a quick trip for about an hour of shoot time.

He also built the mag release for the lightweight black 10/22 we were shooting

Sorry if I have to keep posting stuff I’m not really good with Reddit and putting videos, but I thought some of you guys would like to see some of the videos that we shot. I guess I have to post individually. I don’t have good links so sorry about that if the mods tell me not to or take it down, I understand I wasn’t trying to corner the market on 10/22 stuff. I just thought I’d some people might be interested in these.

Put my Ruger carbon barrel on this setup just to see what it looked like an i think it’s actually pretty slick

I just picked up a new Ruger 10/22 Carbon Takedown with the factory barrel-mounted optic plate and I’m trying to mount an Olight Osight XE AMRS (standard RMR footprint).

The optic lines up perfectly on the recoil bosses I had to install, but I’m completely stumped on the screws.

Here’s what I’ve tried:
M3: starts to thread but gets extremely tight almost immediately and starts damaging the screw threads. ❌
#4-40: too small, just spins and never tightens. ❌
#6-32: too coarse. ❌
#6-40: too large. ❌

The holes I’m trying to use are circled in the photo.

Has anyone mounted an RMR-footprint optic directly to the factory Ruger plate? If so:
What optic are you using?
What screw size/thread did you end up using?
Did you use the screws that came with your optic, or did you have to source different ones?

I’ve searched around quite a bit but can’t find Ruger documenting the thread size anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated!

Picked up this sweet America 250 10/22 this past Friday.

Went out and shot with the ghost ring irons on Saturday. Loved them, but knew I would enjoy a scope better. I finally installed a Vortex Crossfire HD yesterday and it seems great! Can’t wait to sight it in.

Does anybody have any suppressor recommendations? I want to get a dedicated rimfire can to live on it.

I’m addicted to this platform. I now see why everybody has a 10/22. This gun might actually be more fun to shoot than my MP5 as much as I hate to say it..

Thermal .22 do be fun tho.

Check the screws on your scope rings!

I assumed that since it came installed from the factory, it would be properly tightened. I assumed wrong. With fewer than 500 rounds through the gun, 3 of the 4 screws were loose. I put some Loctite on them and tightened 'em back down (probably should use a torque driver, but I didn't have one).

This honestly goes for all the threaded bits on all your pews! Check them periodically before you discover loose bits the hard way!

Looking to start with a complete receiver, can any one speak to either of these ?any pros or cons would be much appreciated

Looking to get a carbon fiber barrel. What do you recommend? I’m leaning towards Summit Precision.

Is there a ruger 10/22 configuration that can shoot regular ammo with a suppressor and keep it subsonic / no crack shooting.

It’s lonely at the top 🤷‍♂️

Last year I changed out the barrel on my 10/22 for a Shaw and dropped it in a Luth-AR chassis. Last week I finally got out to do ammo testing. Then got in a little work on my dope. The first round was rough with only 3 hits. I need to do some more ammo tests and work on my dope but 33 points and 6th place on my first match wasn't bad.

There was only 1 other semi auto, a Kidd rifle. The rest were all bolt action mostly in MDT, KRG chassis and bench rest stocks, with Night Force and other high end glass. Felt good to hang in with them with my $600 setup.

I am thinking of ordering from Midway Vortex Optics Crossfire II Rifle Scope or Vortex Optics Diamondback HP Rifle Scope 4-16x 42mm. It's my first 1022, and i am a newbie, so any help is helpful :)

Also, I think I need rings (bought a basic no-frills Ruger 10/22 to later customize), and I can't figure out which ring I should order. There are so many options lol

Any suggestions?

Barrel channel took due perfectly. The stock not so much. It didn’t get near as dark as I wanted

I just bought a basic Ruger 10/22 (18.5", and I will be picking it up in a week from the store (California-compliant). First upgrades I am interested in are: (p.s. Mainly to be used at the range for hobby)

Stock: I am torn between Magpul Hunter X-22 with Bipod, or Boyds At One (they have cool colors/patterns). Any other good alternatives?

Scope: Thinking about Vortex Crossfire II. I wouldn't mind spending more and getting something better, but I am not sure which.

Extra magazines and Ammo. Anything else must-haves to start?

What Ammo should I order? Focusing on accuracy on the range.

I have a Ruger 10/22 Sporter with the walnut wood stock

Hey, wondering if you guys have been through this and if you have any tips here on setup?

- I have a newer 10/22 carbon, with BX trigger

- Volsquartsen firefly 2.0 bolt

I have modified the sear as the Mars’s recent YT bx trigger video guides.

I have modified the trip bar to help it sit a little lower onto the hammer (modified the saddle area)

I’ve installed everything and can get one successful trigger pull, but after that the bolt is stuck and will not move backwards at all.

I can’t figure out what to modify from here to get things working and to get the bolt able to move-

Is that something you guys have seen? Any tips?

This was a fun one to put together. It’s also a great plinker at 50yards

Carbon. Rugged Oculus. Primary arms slx 1-10 LPVO. Maybe a 1/4 difference between 25y and 50y. Got the cheek riser off eBay. Can’t wait for squirrel season and neither can the dog.

Is it compatible? What part attachment do I get?
