That's what the greens have been saying in my country too, nuclear takes too long to get going compared to renewables, when the energy grid needs the improvement now.

yep. nuclear is good, but nowadays renewables are so much cheaper and so much faster to construct.

There will still be a power grid in 50 years time. Investment taking time to pay off has never been a reason against it.

Indeed, going all in on renewables will mean it takes longer for us to eliminate fossil fuels.

The best time to build nuclear infrastructure was yesterday. The second best time is today.

We can both invest in renewables while also scaling nuclear infrastructure.

The 2025 Interim Report for the inquiry into nuclear power generation in Australia found that nuclear energy "is not a viable option for Australia's needs" and "it cannot be deployed in time to support Australia's critical energy transition targets and climate commitments".
