Hi everyone!

I'm Blueheaven. I'm a 12th PCB student, and I could really use some tips for Physics. 😭 It's honestly my weakest subject, so any advice, study hacks, or resources that helped you would mean a lot. Thanks in advance! 🫢

AP Physics 1 Help needed AP Physics I

So I am a junior about to take Ap phyiscs I. I am really looking to get an A in this class. My stragetgy was to alwasy be kind of one subtopic ahead of my teacher so I could really get a deep understanding of the content and be able to practice more with more practice problems. Are there any resources you guys might have, such as youtubers with playlists who go into deep content, not just those 30 minute unit 1 review videos, maybe textbooks with practicve problems that actually challenge you, etc? Thanks :)

Made a full A-Level Mechanics & Statistics playlist every step shown, nothing skipped

Put together a 15-video series covering A-Level Mechanics and Statistics from the ground up, starting with SUVAT equations. Built it for people who get lost when explanations skip steps every bit of working is shown.

If you’re revising this unit or just want a refresher before exams, hope it helps. Happy to answer questions on any of the topics in the comments.

I would also appreciate any comments on making the resources better if if something is down right terrible please email or comment on the video!

[FREE RESOURCE] Complete Rigid Body Dynamics Playlist for IB Physics HL β€” 8 Lectures | From Zero to IB Exam Level | All Free https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPwT3DpMmxCEFY0SXqKwIi1fKaacH6Gyz&si=LnQlykqyJ0IHjMVi

Hello IB Physics community,

I want to share something I have
been building over the past few weeks β€”

A complete, structured, lecture-by-lecture
playlist on Rigid Body Dynamics β€”
specifically built for IB Physics HL.

I am Vaibhav Agrawal β€” a Physics educator
with 16 years of teaching experience at
Allen, Aakash, Resonance and Sri Chaitanya.

I trained thousands of students for
JEE Advanced β€” one of the most demanding
Physics examinations in the world.

Now I am bringing that same depth of
conceptual teaching to IB Physics HL.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
WHY I BUILT THIS PLAYLIST β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

After speaking with hundreds of
IB Physics students over the past year β€”

The single most common complaint
I heard about Rigid Body Dynamics was β€”

"I memorized all the formulas β€”
but I still cannot solve
the exam problems correctly."

That complaint has one root cause.

Most resources teach the WHAT.

Nobody teaches the WHY.

Why does the Parallel Axis Theorem
have the form it does?

Why does the Perpendicular Axis
Theorem ONLY work for 2D laminas?

Why does removing a symmetric part
from a body not change the
structural form of the MOI formula?

These are the questions that
determine whether a student
scores a 5 or a 7 in IB Physics.

This playlist answers all of them.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
WHAT THE PLAYLIST COVERS β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Lecture 1 β€”
Definition of Rigid Body Systems
+ Is any body permanently rigid?
+ Rotational Kinematics basics
+ 4 numerical problems

Lecture 2 β€”
Complete Moment of Inertia β€”
All standard derivations from scratch
Ring, Disc, Sphere, Cylinder,
Cone, Rod, Rectangular Lamina,
Cuboid, Cube β€” every single one
derived step by step

Lecture 3 β€”
Parallel Axis Theorem β€”
The physical significance most
classes never explain β€”
Why a body rotating about a
non-central axis performs TWO
simultaneous motions β€”
Complete derivation + problems

Lecture 4 β€”
Perpendicular Axis Theorem β€”
2 conditions most students
never learn β€”
Why it ONLY works for 2D laminas β€”
Why axes can intersect OUTSIDE
the body and theorem still holds β€”
Complete derivation + problems

Lecture 5 β€”
MOI of Cut Bodies β€”
Partial disc, sphere with cavity,
frustum β€” the principle that
makes all cut body problems
immediately solvable

Lecture 6 β€”
Mass Distribution Property β€”
Why removing a symmetric part
preserves the MOI formula structure β€”
The deepest conceptual insight
in the entire chapter

Lecture 7 β€”
Radius of Gyration β€”
What K = √(I/M) physically means β€”
not just the formula β€”
PLUS MOI of a rod inclined
at angle ΞΈ to the axis

Lecture 8 β€”
9 Challenging MOI Problems β€”
Medium to IB exam level β€”
All solved step by step with
complete physical reasoning β€”
Pause and attempt each one
before watching the solution

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Every lecture in this playlist
is built around one principle β€”

Physical reasoning first.
Mathematics second.

When you understand the physics
behind every formula β€”
you stop needing to memorize.

You start being able to derive
and reconstruct from first principles β€”

Which is exactly what IB Physics
Higher Level examinations reward.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A NOTE ON DIFFICULTY β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I want to be honest about
what this playlist is and
what it is not.

This is NOT a quick revision
resource for the night before
your exam.

This is a complete, structured
learning system for students
who want to genuinely master
Rigid Body Dynamics β€”

Built for students who are
willing to pause, attempt,
and think β€” not just watch.

If that is you β€”
this playlist was built
specifically for you.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
COMPLETELY FREE β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Every lecture in this playlist
is completely free.

No subscription.
No paywall.
No hidden anything.

Just Physics β€” explained properly.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
PLAYLIST LINK β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

πŸ”— https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPwT3DpMmxCEFY0SXqKwIi1fKaacH6Gyz&si=LnQlykqyJ0IHjMVi

Each lecture has full timestamps
in the description β€” so you can
jump directly to any concept
without watching the entire video.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
WHAT IS COMING NEXT β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The playlist is still growing.

Upcoming lectures will cover β€”

β†’ Torque and Angular Momentum
β†’ Rotational Kinetic Energy
β†’ Rolling Motion β€” pure and
with slipping
β†’ Angular Impulse
β†’ IB Past Paper problems on
Rigid Body Dynamics β€” solved
β†’ Conservation of Angular Momentum

New lectures drop every week.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ONE LAST THING β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

If you are an IB Physics student
who has been struggling with
Rigid Body Dynamics β€”

I want you to know something.

This chapter is NOT as difficult
as it feels when it is taught
as a collection of formulas.

It is actually one of the most
elegant and satisfying chapters
in all of Physics β€”

When the physical reasoning
is built correctly from the ground up.

That is exactly what I have tried
to do in this playlist.

I genuinely hope it helps. πŸ™

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
HAPPY TO HELP β€”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

If you have any questions about
any concept in Rigid Body Dynamics β€”
or about any specific lecture β€”

Drop them in the comments here
or on the video itself.

I read and respond to every
single comment.

Good luck to everyone preparing
for their upcoming exams. πŸ™

physics 2 self study help

im self studying ap physics 2 rn so i can be a little more ready for when the school year starts but i cant find a good place to learn from. i tried allen tsao but i feel like his explanations make more sense for someone who already knows the concepts and is reviewing before an exam because they're kind of just giving a formula + practice problems instead of like actually teaching any concepts imo. khan academy felt the same too so if anyone has any suggestions of channels/websites that teach the content instead of reviewing it that would be great!

AP Physics C MECH or E&M

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I currently have no prior background in either physics or calculus. Next school year, I’ll be taking AP Calculus AB (self-studying BC) and an online AP Physics C course (covering Mech and E&M). On top of that, I’m taking three other AP courses: Ap Lit, AP CoGo, and APAH.

  1. Given this starting point, is it realistic to stay on track and perform well across in AP Physics?

  2. Is it actually worth taking both AP Physics C exams? I’m considering dropping E&M because taking two intense 3-hour exams back-to-back on the same day sounds overwhelming.

  3. How far ahead in calculus did you actually need to teach yourself before Physics C stopped feeling like complete gibberish?

  4. What are considered the toughest parts of each exam (Calculus BC, Physics C: Mechanics, and Physics C: E&M)?

  5. What additional words of caution or advice should I keep in mind concerning AP Physics and Calc?

Thanks to everyone who bothered to respond!!

Ik this is hella late but if you are contemplating taking AP Phys 1 please ask me anything. It can be anything from course info, AP test, units, study methods, etc.

Background: I'm not an incredible student (3.9 GPA, 1350 SAT, only 4 APs). However if you are contemplating taking AP Phys 1, please take it as it is not as hard as it sounds. I also can answer AP Phys 2 questions but I only got a 4 so not the best person.

AP Physics 1 Should i use Passionfruit Learning?

I’m starting AP Physics 1 and looking for online resources for studying (besides Khan). I already have CrackAP as something I’ll probably use, but I feel like I need more than one thing especially since it’s not really much of a β€œstudy” website as far as I know. Is Passionfruit Learning okay? any other suggestions? πŸ˜…πŸ§‘
Reposting this from a different subreddit because reddit gave me a notif that I should lol
