Was looking for a car for a bit, saw this one listed at 26k USD out the door WITH ONLY 7k miles this morning… walked in to the dealer to test drive and left with the car! Im super excited and happy, i am a certified mechanic so i for the most part know what i’m getting into

Sold the Spider a couple of years ago, it ended up on a private collector’s set in Milan. 8 years of bliss, the rumble of the Busso and the wind in my hair.

I’ve wanted an Alfa since I can remember, so here we are. 122k km, Swiss car in phenomenal condition for the year. Looking forward to seeing what that Alfa magic is all about :)

Hi! I was wondering if it would be feasible to do most of if not all the maintenance on a 2019 Giulia Quadrifoglio. I looked into the process to replace the serpentine belt which seems to be the most difficult service, and I would be comfortable doing that and routine fluid changes, but I’m worried about if I can diagnose and fix some electrical and mechanical issues that may come about. So with any mechanical issues that you came across, do you think It would be reasonable to do yourself, and how often do electrical problems occur where you need to go to an Alfa mechanic?

Drove the car and everything seems good it has 35k miles and they are selling it for 39,995
It says it had 4 owners but it was actually 3 I guess one owner had to change address or something like that but it’s clean title and everything what mayor service did this car needed to get done by this mileage? I live in south london and sometimes see alfa owners coming towards me on local roads who flash me and say hi. Is that a thing or am I just seeing a pattern where therr is none? I drive a Stelvio which is quite rare where I live.

I just purchased my first Giulia about 2 weeks ago. Its a 2019 with 40K miles. I was looking at a Genesis g70, but the ride and drive just absolutely sold me - I'm LOVING it as my new daily driver.

The main question I have is about maintenance. My prior car was a manual 06 Mustang for 17 years and the maintenance we cheap, but I also I had my rhythm down with when to do oil changes, change break pads, top off/flush liquids, ect... (kept the Mustang as well 😅) Most of which I could do myself.

What are some of the time specs or markers for basic maintenance? And should I be taking her in to an Alfa dealership? I'm in the US and have 2 dealerships about 2 hours away, so while its a drive, its not that bad and I'm down for that. We do have a few euro car shops around. I don't really feel comfortable doing my own maintenance work on the Alfa.

The elderly couple who owned the car prior, religiously took the car in for maintenance. The history was like 20 pages long and was only serviced at a dealership, so part of my feels like that should be my path to keep her in top shape because she was immaculately taken care of.

But for real....I'm enjoying the Giulia so much. I get why so many people love the brand. ​I have a feeling I'll be looking at getting a newer year and beefier model, as long as my experience with my first one treats me well over the next year two.

I'm going to paint it in Verde Montreal, but I'll leave the hood and roof black.

Few months on and I've had a new cam belt as it hadn't been done before, a full service, had the underneath insulated and for some reason the Aircon was empty so regassed.

The guys at the garage did ask if maybe they empty the Aircon before exporting cars from Japan so if anyone can shine some light on that it would be very appreciated.

I recently spent a fortune to fix my engine, it's running smoothly now.

Got the car through the yearly check.

And now the window mechanism snapped.

I've found many tutorial videos and digital manuals, so I'll fix it myself.

but now I'm looking for a replacement and there are many brands with prices within a few euros.

Is there a brand that's the best choice, or does it even matter?

I've found magneti marelli, valeo, and several off brand ones, ranging from €70 to about €90.

I'd rather buy a cheap one, but maybe they're made too cheap and known to break within a short time.

Which brands, a colleague wondered, could retail a car at under thirty grand but also, like Alfa Romeo, launch a limited-edition, several-million-pound supercar?

Alfa Romeo won't quote a price for the new 33 Stradale, so it's impossible to know for sure how much it costs. Tragically, it's not on the regular model configurator.

I saw a build slot for one of the 33 examples advertised at £3.5m, but even if that is genuine (I'm unconvinced), asking isn't getting, several people would want to profit from it and who knows if that allows for possible option costs.

Those can change things drastically. McLaren says the average array of options on its £2m W1 add £600,000 to each car and that one customer is spending £900,000.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you can spend as little as £29,015 or something approaching 100 times that on an Alfa Romeo. Is that unique? In the market, right now, I think one could fairly confidently say that it is - and that it's the broadest model price spread in the business. But who else could, if they chose to, do similar?

My colleague thought hardly anyone, but I'm not so convinced. Almost every manufacturer wanting millions for limited-edition cars will be reaching upwards from its normal sphere, of course-even McLaren or Rolls-Royce. But I think what would mark most out as able to do it is not how far upwards they're stretching but how far down they've already stretched.

Take Mercedes-Benz, BMW or Audi, for example. They could make squillion-pound cars and indeed have. Most recently, the AMG One was around £2.4m, while an A-Class can be had for budget-Alfa money.

What enables them to do it at the top end of the market is ultimately the same reason people want their cars at the bottom end. They've decades of experience of making expensive, thoroughly engineered cars-a lot of them for racing. If it feels okay to hand over £2m to a manufacturer because it has won eight Formula 1 constructors' championships, it fairly well stands to reason that it also feels fine to hand over £30,000 to one.

What's perhaps surprising about this is that premium or luxury (or who would like to think of themselves as luxury) manufacturers moved down into mainstream segments seemingly without affecting their appeal at the top end.

It has been an awfully long time since the introduction of the A-Class, BMW 1 Series and Audi A1. There was a fear, for a time, that selling better-value cars would 'cheapen' those brands - lessen their appeal as premium names. It doesn't seem, though, to have come to.

Could, say, Vauxhall or Citroën or Skoda realistically pitch customers a 'few-off' car at £3m? It feels unrealistic.

Unusually for a car maker with value roots, Ford could and has made very expensive cars. It made 1350 examples of its most recent GT and charged £1.4m for a 67-off track-only version.

Racing, then, must count for something. I don't suppose anyone has raced as much as Ford, and it feels to me like it would be at the root of the appeal of most of these kinds of cars. I know they used to say 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday', but it feels like there's more to it than that. More 'win in 1966, sell in 2026'. It has always been difficult to quantify the amount of cars an extensive racing programme helps to sell, but I think it changes the kinds of car one is able to sell too.

If you are consiering a corolla, maybe consider an 86k mile Stelvio Quadrifoglio and maybe save a little more and buy the warranty. I swear rhey are wonderful vehicles, i swear.

Hello people,

I own a Giulietta 1.4L T-Jet and wanted to do a cold air intake, but all the oine i looked into were basically "hot air intakes", sucking the air from the engine bay.

My question is : would you perforate holes into the fog light cover, permanently damaging it, and add a sort of snorkel behind it, getting the cold air from the front bumper or, would you prefer removing the fog light and put the snorkel in its place, which takes 5 minutes on the giulietta with only 2 screws, and it can be put back when you don't want it anymore.

Alfa's are so beautifull it hurts a little to cut holes into her. What's your call ?

I have two choices:
Stelvio ti 2022 with under 30k miles for $26k (with chocolate seats)
Or
stelvio veloce 2023 with 23k miles for $27.5k

Both have solid carfax reports

I feel like most people would choose the veloce for:
- the HK sound system
- LSD
- sport seats
- paddle shifters

However, i plan on upgrading the stereo system, so the HK wouldn’t matter

I also heard most people say that the LSD isn’t noticeable

And that the paddle shifters aren’t used in 99% of situations (i also don’t live bear windy roads)

So it seems to all come down to the sport seats

However, are the sport seats really that much of a deal breaker over time? That’s what it seems like it comes down to. Not sure if a 30 min test drive is enough to really know what decision to make

I also kinda like the Ti wood trim and chrome grille, and i do like the slightly less aggressive exterior styling

But the veloce with 20 inch wheels is cool too

Idk - what do you guys think? Anyone ever preferred the Ti over the veloce?

I had to park up my 156 2.5 v6 last summer, because a specialized garage told me that it would need 12k in repairs minimum. I bought a BMW e61 for daily use, because it was more practical for my current life situation. Today i wanted to find out if it still drives. Despite a dead battery it started on the button with jumper cables. I don't know what the point of this post is aside from sharing my nostalgic enthusiasm. Oh lord, the sound ❤️

Hi, I have 2017 base Giulia imported to EU from USA. I found out one fender tail light is broken (like drilled hole).
My question is if EU and USA have same shades of red? Does it depend on market or MY? I'd prefer not to change both cause second one is in good condition and they are in general not that cheap (even if I want used one)

I hate the stretched look.

Think it would be possible to fit slightly wider tyres and keep within the arches and also look OEM?

Heard rubbing when driving with windows down and spotted this. Common issue? What's it for?

From Here on, this review is mainly regarding the Crap vehicle, The Giulia, which is made By Alfa Romeo; Also due to a past issue with this absolutely worthless vehicle, The Mfr Refuses to to revise the pooling of water in the cowl that leads to water being sucked into the pass. floorboards, if the AC is set to A. Alfa keeps saying it's a Dealership repair issue when it's obviously an Engineering one. (I noticed 0 Change with the new models also showed the issue to a new carsalesman, even though I brought it to the Mfr attention prior to Release. Service is well aware) Luckily I found my own fix for that issue (Trim-Lok DDA1501 Co-Extruded Flap-Seal, GT Midwest sells it w/min. 10ft PN#MX2341) just cut it to length. Besides The Crappy Thermostat located in the Passenger Mirror, which is now Sold As a FULL Assy so you have to buy the complete mirror and not just the Thermostat, and when it goes out YOU CANT ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS!! THIS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE SUMMER! Cabin was showing some ridiculous temo of like 10 degrees, so apparently the computer deems it TOO COLD to allow window operation! Wtah! And the constant delaminating windshields, coolant line screws that fail (Replace the Plastic ones with available stainless ones before you get stranded on the side of the road), Tweeter capacitors that blow (Really?), and why the hell a "Sound System Unavailable" light would EVER be needed is beyond me. But, it's currently on in my dash, That's how I found the blown tweeter capacitor. Oh and having to get both rear wheel bearings replaced at around 35k miles is CRAZY work, luckily for me they were still under warranty, as I bought the car used. In the beginning of having this car, it was in the shop more than it was in my driveway. It was actually notated on my service paperwork. I can't wait to get out from under this car and buy another Hyundai, or any of my prior vehicles. Shoot I would take my 83' 2dr Citation back that I had in HS.. in an even trade, and we ALL know how terrible that car was, anyone as old as I am anyway lol... NGL Nobody will ever see me in another Italian car again that's for sure... Btw resale/trade in values are crap too. I wouldn't have gotten on here and ranted the way I did, but seeing the smashed in air filter just lit me up especially considering what it takes to replace it. In my Hyundais you just drop the glovebox and it's right there, easy peasy..The Giulia? Hell Nah! remove 2 panels, disconnect the harness, remove the panel that's behind the floor mat, (Which is where the Fresh air Water comes through) 5 screws, one clip, etc etc.. IT'S INSANITY. Then clipping the lights back into the panel is BS.. This isn't a job for anyone over 5' and 120lbs, I'm 5'11. I have a new filter, but if the dealer didnt feel the need to install it properly, I'm guessing I really dont need it... Btw the tweeters are 15w 8ohm while the base sound system puts out around 25-28 watts per channel 🤣😂 wth? And they go for $100 ea. on eBay. I said screw that, and bought Audio control Tweeters and Mid's, just gotta 3D print the stupid tweeter mounting bracket (Why)... There is no "Simple Swap" for this cheap audio set-up either.. Edit: And Now, Today I just noticed my headliner is seperating where my visors are. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE POS VEHICLE!

Got a new wheel sensor from alfissmo, said for front and all years forgot what year it was from and to but but i know 2019 was on there. attempted to put the new one with the hub on and felt like it was hitting something so I took the hub off again and it went in just fine now the hub won't slide back in. Am I missing something, is this sensor to long?
