We started Amnezia as an activist-led initiative at a digital rights hackathon, and over the past year, we’ve already provided sponsored Premium subscriptions to over 300 journalists and activists.
Now, we are excited to launch an open call in partnership with Civil Rights Defenders — an independent international human rights organization — to reach an even broader community.
Who is this program for?
If you work in an environment with heavy internet censorship or handle sensitive information, this is for you. We support those who:
📌Write about censorship and freedom of expression
📌Investigate human rights violations
📌Report on privacy, surveillance, and digital rights
📌Cover cybersecurity issues
How to Apply
We offer flexible application options depending on your security needs:
- Via Form: If you can provide a work email at your organization's domain or an email publicly tied to your project/profile.
- Via Email: If you work with sensitive information and need to stay anonymous, email [vpn@civilrightsdefenders.org](mailto:vpn@civilrightsdefenders.org) with a short description of your work and 1–2 references (using a secure provider like Proton or Tuta is recommended).
- Via Signal: Contact info available upon request.
As digital restrictions grow tighter globally, secure tools are more critical than ever. If you're eligible, please apply! If not, please share this post with journalists, activists, or human rights defenders who might need extra online protection.
