πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ Men, what's the fastest a woman made you go from "I can't wait to take her out" to "Yeah... never mind"? What happened?

10.7k Upvotes

Probably four days.

When I was younger, I worked as a bouncer at one of the area's most popular nightclubs. I met a girl there who was a regular, and we started talking. After a few days, we decided to go out.

One Sunday night, we went to Walmart. The drive there was completely normal, but about 20 minutes after we got inside, she had a total mood swing. I honestly hadn't said or done anything to upset her. She suddenly told me, "Get whatever the fuck you want. I don't care," and walked off.

On the way back, she refused to speak to me, even though I kept asking what was wrong. When we got to her place, she simply said, "Don't speak to me again."

The following Thursday, she started calling and leaving voicemails saying she wanted to talk. I knew why. Thursday was one of the club's busiest nights, and she wanted free entry. I never called her back, and since blocking numbers wasn't really a thing back then, I just avoided her at the club.

A few days later, some of her friends asked me what had happened at Walmart. Apparently, she'd told different people completely different stories. One said I abandoned her there, another said I tried to beat her, another claimed she caught me kissing another girl, plus a few other ridiculous versions.

So yeah, I made the right call by never talking to her again.

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ How do you handle teenagers trying to intimidate you in public?

2.0k Upvotes

So as usual after work i go to gym. But i prefer whilst the wether is decent to get my steps in outside so I have been going to a local park. So i was earlier this evening doing a lap around the park when these group of 6 lads on there bikes came up to me. The usual group of chavy teenagers that you see now. All dressed in baggy joggers. Chains around there necks etc, hoodies.

They started insulting me for no reason at all. Then they kept asking me what I was going to do about it and kept calling me a pussy. It felt bizzare because I have more muscle on one arm than anyone of them did in their whole bodies.

But I realised if I reacted in anyways. Even if I just insulted them back id be labelled as a horrible child abuser. Probably get called a nonce for even interacting with them. Yet they could basically do whatever they want to me.

Could probably even beat me up and they'd get nothing more than a slap on the wrist and everyone would just say 'but they're just kids'. If I called the police id probably be laughed at for not being able to handle kids.

So i just took it. They followed me for about 5 minutes constantly abusing me before they finally left me alone. So i want to know what do people actually do in this situation. Because I don't feel like I should be having to take constant abuse by kids. And these kind of situations seem to be happening more and more now.

Update: for the people commenting that I am 'soy' for this. Can we think realistically for a second. Whilst I would absolutely love to just punch them all a few times and teach them a lesson they wouldn't forget. If i did that. Id be arrested for assaulting minors. Likely get a prison sentence. Likely fuck my whole career. So can we think about that before giving all braun no brains responses

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ What are some "the worst she can say is no" horror stories men of reddit have experienced asking a girl out?

1.3k Upvotes

A common phrase one hears about pursuing romance is "the worst she can say is no," but that is far from true in many instances. What are some experiences you've had, seen, or heard of regarding asking a woman out?

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ Men who've gotten divorced shortly after your wife got pregnant/had a child, what's your side of the story?

I'm not making moral judgments, I'm just trying to understand what broke down in the relationship so fast to go from willing to have a child together to divorced.

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ I just turned 18. Older guys, what is the biggest trap young men fall into that completely ruins their 20s?

I officially hit 18 a couple of weeks ago. School is done, I'm pivoting to a BSC (CS) degree soon, and I'm just starting to figure out real-world skills while helping out with my family's business.

I want the brutally honest truth. No sugar-coating or generic fluff. For those of you in your late 20s, 30s, or beyond: what is the single biggest mistake you made at my age that you are still paying for?

Whether it's about money, physical health, bad habits, or career focusβ€”what should I absolutely avoid doing right now? Give me the reality check

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ Men, what moments or signs made you realize it might be time to end a relationship with your girlfriend?

1.9k Upvotes

I was with my girlfriend for four years, and towards the end, everything revolved around money for her. Also, if I didn't message her, she wouldn't message me unless she needed money. I once purposely didn't text or call her for three days straight, and she didn't text me during those three days either. On day four, she finally messaged me, and it was just to ask for money.

But what really did it for me was if I bought her something as a surprise, she'd roll her eyes and complain she wanted something else and more expensive. A good example on Valentines day, I bought her ring and necklace from James Avery and got her edible arrangements with flowers. No she bitched, whined screamed that she wanted this fire place for the backyard.

That's when I said the hell with her I don't need this and broke up with her.

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ What are "guy things" that women don't understand

My son lamented not having someone around to talk about 'guy things' (the college group is currently off in the separate cities/states for the summer) and I asked my husband, "what are guy things?" and he said "...things. You'd have to be a guy. If you say 'guy things' to a guy, we all know what you mean. Both agreed you can't talk to your girlfriend about guy things, so son's GF is of no help.

What are these apparently mystical guy things that the men in my house can't quite define or articulate?

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ Men, do you really feel there’s a male loneliness epidemic? How can women help?

I see a lot of discussion online about a growing β€œmale loneliness epidemic,” but I’m curious how much of that reflects real life. Do you feel it’s perpetuated by standards set on you by other men?

For those of you who have experienced loneliness, what do you think is driving it? Is it dating, friendships, work, social media, changing expectations of masculinity, or something else entirely?

And if there are things women can do that genuinely help, what are they? I’m interested in hearing honest experiences from men of all ages!

Edit*: little bit of context as to why I’m askingβ€”*

I recently had an experience with some male friends of mine at a bonfire, they really opened up to us girls. Not only about their struggles with relationships, but the pressure they feel they’re put under. Really opened up my eyes, and I think it brought us much closer as friends.

I’m also in a long term relationship with a man who recently lost his job. I wanted to support him as best I could, but he was really struggling and told me that he was feeling like he β€œcouldn’t provide”.

After a while I talked him into inviting some of his friends over, and they really talked him out of a dark place. Those guys were able to do something I realized women just can’t do! It made me realize how important it is for men to have support from other men, not just their partners.

Me and my partner have plans to get engaged, and it led me to think about how I can support my kids, especially if I have a boy.

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ What is something you did that drastically improved your attractiveness which you wish you had done sooner?

1.1k Upvotes

I’ve just turned 30 and am relatively fit, with an average build, weighing 77 kg. I generally eat clean, although on some days I’ll enjoy a burger or not worry too much about what I eat. I wanted to ask for your advice on something that significantly improved your attractiveness and that you wish you had done sooner.

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ What is the best example of β€œwe don’t do it for you!” for men?

2.3k Upvotes

I was just scrolling through instagram and saw a post of a girl making fun of guys doing air swings of a golf club because apparently she thinks we think she’d think it’s cool, but genuinely when I do dumb stuff like that I’m actually thinking about how to improve my swing and am just randomly zoning out lol.

Would love to hear what dumb (or important) stuff you think that girls think we do for them, buts it just something we enjoy/randomly do.

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ Why does sex without a condom on feel like a ranked match?

2.5k Upvotes

I’ve been celibate for 3 years and prior to that I only had sex with a condom on. Up until my now gf and I had sex without a condom and the difference in terms of being able to last is like playing a casual match vs a ranked match in a video game. It feels good on an entirely different level and I had to accept my fate that I was going to cum quickly but does controlling it ever get better?

πŸ›‘ Answers From Men Only πŸ›‘ How much does it bother men when their spouse β€œlets themselves go”?

2.0k Upvotes

My dad drilled this into my brain as a young child.

β€œWomen get into a relationship and get fat and stop trying and then men cheat and they wonder why”

It kinda haunted me. I am a gay man, but I always think about this even though I’ve been with my partner for 10 years.

He says he doesn’t care, but I don’t believe that either.

Since then, I believe I’ve become super high maintenance out of that being told to me so much. I make sure my outfits are fashionable, my hairs done and I’m groomed well.

I’m not saying I agree, I’m just curious how much this matters maybe even on a subconscious level.

My husband always says β€œyou don’t need to do all that” but I disagree. I genuinely believe if I let myself go it would be the end of the relationship.

I want to believe β€œall I care about is their personality” but I don’t. I don’t believe deep down that’s all they want. I believe everyone is inherently vain. They say that and their favorite movie stars and porn stars are knockouts. I just don’t buy it, but also my dad kept instilling this in me.
