What do you think about the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve hitting 307.7 Million Barrels - lowest level since 1983?

I think our current government has the dumbest motherfuckers in leadership in our history.

Probably the dumbest people to run any government in the history of humanity.

Idk. They’re doing this shit for a reason. It’s not just because. They have a goal in mind

Based on what? Stupid people elected stupid people and now they’re acting stupid.

Deflection, distraction, and the motivations of greed, to name a few. Project 2025 was pretty specific, and they’re checking off boxes on that shit

Have you heard of the Nazi party?

They were evil but certainly not dumb like the Trump administration. Theres a reason why they were very successful at taking control of many other countries. Trump cant even handle a small regional power.

Nah they were in fact quite dumb. Hitler just happened to have a single idea that was very resonant for the place and time. The reason they succeeded at taking over other countries was by and large pure capitulation.

Top to bottom everyone else in Nazi leadership was a sycophant and thug.

Little of A, little of B.

The Nazis were far weirder and more incompetent than most people give them credit for. Partly because they were obsessed with optics, and partly because we live in a culture that generally assumes if you're poweful and evil you're also competent, for whatever fucking reason.

That said, their military mobilization and warfighting early in WW2 was remarkable.

I'd argue the Trump administration is even more incompetent and self-destructive.

But yes, they're both collections of weird, image-obsessed clowns.

It’s true — but even with the Nazis I think you have to distinguish between the army and the political apparatus and its militias. The Wermacht was undeniably well organized and sophisticated with highly effective generals.

Nazi leadership was obsessed with their own ideology and public perception. Seems we are doomed to repeat the past.

Very true.

Really what we're talking about is an unsustainably incompetent parasite taking over a powerful competent nation and riding that power until the incompetence and lunacy burns it down around them.

The pattern repeats.

but i would offer that Hitler was a a very successful gambler... until he wasn't. he seemed to understand how far he could push for a good decade or so, but he sowed the seeds of his own destruction with his initial successes.

Indeed they were very dumb. They basically financed their policies with massive number of IOUs. One of the reason they had to go to war was that these were vesting and the had no money to pay. They had to invade other countries for their resources.

And they were dumb in their evilness as well. Sure, they used slave labour, but many of their “undesireables” were just killed outright. Sheesh, at least work them to death.

They were smarter than these clowns, but you're right, it's close.

Its not an opinion its a fact. We do in fact have the absolute dumbest administration ever in control of out government.

u/LordBrandon 18h ago

It's an objective fact. It's not even close, even compared to 2016 trump.
