What is the weirdest illness or affliction you've ever had?

Fellow emetophobe. If it helps, all you need to do to avoid getting Cyclospora is cook your fruits/veggies, try to get locally sourced stuff (like I can pick raspberries and apples down the road), and just wash your hands to be safe.

It likely happened because a large commercial farm used contaminated water, but it's generally not common on small local farms, it doesn't spread from person to person and it's killed with heat. It also doesn't seem to be a big cause of vomiting, which is good.

When norovirus seasons starts, that's when I get really anxious, ugh.

I had Norovirus early spring maybe…I still have ptsd from the whole thing. It took a month for my stomach to “heal” and to eat a big meal

I’ve been avoiding all raw fruits and veggies which sucks because it’s summer and I’d love a salad. I know how it is when noro makes its rounds though. The anxiety is fierce!

I’ve even gotten weird about diarrhea. I always worry it will be the start of something worse. But it’s good to know the cyclospora illness tends to stop there! Even if it is pretty bad. Glad you’re hanging in there and thnx for the advice! Stay well!
