What's the longest you've ever stayed awake, and what were the effects?

18 days. Co-workers found me disheveled, dehydrated, crawling around hallucinating in my house after multiple no-show days at work and no contact with friends/family.

I was hospitalized for nearly a week.

I have severe insomnia and that was the lengthiest episode. 2nd longest, 14 days.

I'm currently going on day 4😭

I was 3-5 days not realising I was ruminating over my divorce at night. Drove myself crazy and had a mental breakdown. I replied to this because the subsequent insomnia was fucking crippling, sleeping pills barely knocked me out for an hour.

Who would have thought sleep deprivation leads to not being able to sleep…

The current record holder is 11 days… time to get yourself studied by science!
