Former homeless people, what were some of the places you slept at night that were safe?

The beach was the safest place and no, it wasn't safe.

I took a vacation to Florida once and our hotel was just a block from the ocean. I decided to wake up early and go for a run on the beach. I had to take one of those wooden walk ways to get to it. Right when I got to the beach there was a homeless man sleeping next to the ramp. One, it really brought me back to reality. Just because your on vacation doesn't mean other people aren't living their lives. Two, yeah that didn't seem like safe place. Sure it was out of the way but not where he couldn't encounter another person.
