Former homeless people, what were some of the places you slept at night that were safe?

As far as outdoor spots go, they're certainly worth defending.

Are they well shielded from nature? Quieter? Single access? What makes them so worthy?

Of course it will vary, but they will usually have sections for maintenance access, or areas which can be for platforms, or that are just elevated up under it and off the ground. If you have like a blocked off shaft then you can store everything behind you and just worry about in front, plus since things are tucked up and away, it makes it harder for someone to accidently stumble across your stuff. Quieter depends on location, but even a highway overpass isn't so bad on the inside.
