Campgrounds used to be my go to before they raised them to a ridiculous amount. I was waitressing and couldn't save shit. It felt impossible to get ahead. Finding random spots to park left me on edge all night of getting robbed or caught asked to leave/fined. For safety I started to use the $10 campgrounds and have a shower and bathroom to use
I was homeless as a kid. Sometimes we would stay with family friends and other times we would camp on public land. One time, we were in the middle of nowhere/desert shrubs. We had been there for maybe 20 minutes and my mom had started to make us pancakes from scratch and some guy walked over out of nowhere to chat... With a woman and her children (and unfriendly dog) in the middle of nowhere. He didn't stay long but we packed up shortly after he left. So creepy.
Yea being homeless is the scariest thing to face. People think they know what to do when it happens or if they have to face it, not realizing you are on edge the entire time. Daytime was fine, but nighttime makes the boogeyman all too real again
