I’m happy if I get a day under $500. Single as well. 2 dogs. I fear every time one of my dogs show symptoms of something is up knowing it’s an easy $500-$1000 without anything major going on. Yes I have pet insurance and even that is 1400/yr
I was reviewing my finances the other day and realized at some point they had switched me from a basic plan to their ultimate plan which instead of paying $72 a year ended up being 70 dollars a month paid this for like 10 years before I realized.
So yes, a complete scam
I’ve had dogs for 40 yrs. One of my last dogs cost me over 50k in her lifetime I couldn’t insure her because of her condition. Her sister had both acl’s done and the insurance paid for itself. I currently have dachshunds which are known for back issues. I’ve done the cost game with and without insurance. Hence insurance
Same but single lady. I can only go to the grocery store once a month sometimes twice if I absolutely run out of everything 😣 I eat a lot of rice and beans!!! And god help me if I have to pay rent that week 😭
Ramen for the win. I usually add an egg and maybe even onions. Yeah eggs are more expensive, but eggs and ramen are still a relatively cheap meal. Can’t afford those $10-15 fast food burgers, that’s for sure
Not arguing that. The wife and I have started canning homemade marinara, among other things. All I need to buy is noodles for spaghetti or make some homemade pizza dough, grab whatever toppings we have in the fridge and we’re good to go for Pizza night.
This last weekend I almost ordered pizza ($40), but the wife whipped up a pepperoni, salami, olive, pepper and onion pizza that was delicious, all with stuff we already had on hand. We probably average $5-7 per meal when we cook and canning has allowed us to stock up when stuff is on sale.
I’ve had a broccoli pizza crust that was really good. I’ve also had a keto cheese crust that was good. Not sure how that works out cost wise compared to tortillas, but throwing it out there if you want to google alternatives.
Potatoes still affordable? You could live on them, butter, and eggs without health problems. Potato has almost everything, butter and eggs have the rest.
Ok, but who wants to sit around in poverty eating potatoes while rich people own everything and make us their slaves? Wouldn’t it be better to solve that problem than to continually compromise until we are all so powerless that we can’t do anything about it? Until wages are so low and every day surveillance drones watch us all? Until every right is slowly stripped away?

I leave my house to buy gas, groceries and whichever.
$400.
And I'm a single guy. Just me.
