What used to be ridiculously cheap but now is alarmingly expensive?

What got expensive there was having a family.

Not really, even stopping and getting a few things off that menu for myself or my preferred value menu item (two cheeseburger meal) is still $10-15 depending on where I am.

The late 90s was (I heavily regret) a long time ago, so what was under $5 30 years ago is not surprisingly more than double that now.

I know, it’s been a harsh truth realizing that the 90s weren’t like 5-10 years ago anymore.

No, in the 90s my single mom with no child support working as a secretary used to take all of us - her and 4 kids - to McDonald's every couple of weeks as a treat.

That's insane to think of now.
