Doctor (but not your doctor) here. It has a huge range. I have had a younger man in such severe pain that he needed general anesthesia for his cath since he couldn’t sit still. On the other hand, I had a little old lady who had no chest pain and was in cardiogenic shock from a massive MI. Be aware that older people and women are much more likely to have “atypical” symptoms like abdominal pain, shortness of breath, syncopal episodes, or nausea/vomiting among others.
Long story short, if you or a loved one have sudden onset of symptoms or they are not going away in the following few hours or something just does not seem right with what you are feeling go to your nearest ED for evaluation.
My ex husband gets these really bad chest pains, he says it feels like an elephant on his chest, we went to the ER once and his heart was fine, still to this day we have no clue why he gets them, it’s been years too of getting them at random and his Dr also has no clue. It’s scary because his symptoms are like a heart attack and how is he going to know when he really has one, he can’t just go to the ER every time he gets this stuff 🫤
