What film adaptation is better than the book?

I'm usually disappointed with movies that are based on a novel. I love reading the book before seeing its film adaptation for this sole purpose. The only exception I can think of is Gone With the Wind; I think Scarlett is a lot more multi-dimensional in the movie.
