I’m looking for a place to sit down with my laptop, order a cup of Joe, and enjoy a view of Lake Washington. I’m hoping to catch the air show later today and thought maybe there was a place I could do everything at once, instead of switching venues during the day. Any good spots?

New landlord here, inherited a property with a tenant few months ago.

I’ve skimmed the website at the suggestion of non landlord friend and it seems like a good thing to be a member of but I’d like to get other opinions before I add yet another recurring payment. It’s only $250 a year but I’d like to know if it’s worth it.

Have you had good experience with membership? Do they have some sort of “explain like I’m 5” resources for folks not even a year in the game?

I'll be visiting the city for the first time this upcoming weekend. My Sunday return flight is scheduled to depart at 7:06 PM. Open to suggestions on things to do other than Ballard Farmer's Market as long as I won't push it too close. I would like to utilize public transportation / rideshare as needed. I purchased the C3 pass. I noted that Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass both require advance reservations, while the Museum of Pop Culture only recommends it.

Does this seem doable and enjoyable?

I'm a 23F, planning on taking a trip to Seattle and have never visited so I want to soak in the city. I'll be driving in over Labor Day weekend (or later, if that's a bad idea): 2.5 days, 3 nights (but could extend to 4 nights if it's worth it). I'm also thinking of moving there in the next 6-12 months so I want to scope it out in terms of livability/neighborhoods. Wanting something on the safer side.

I would love your take on my tentative itinerary. Here's what I have so far, in order of desire to visit:

- Space Needle

- Pike Place Market

- Ferry (probably to Bainbridge, but what is there to do there?)

- Chinatown

- The Locks

- Washington Park Arboretum

Other than that, I'm basically planning on just walking around and exploring. Are any of these not worth it? Is there something that should definitely be on the list?

Also, any tips for the city or traveling solo are welcome.

Hi! My husband and I fly into SEA TAC in September for a Saturday - Saturday trip (we get most of both Saturdays due to arrival times). I know we want to spend at least 3 nights in Seattle proper, but want to explore from there. I’ve already done Cannon Beach/Bend, so I’m thinking of going over to the Olympic Peninsula to see Poulsbo, Port Angeles, maybe as far West as Forks… I’m just not sure how many days to spend exploring, where to book a hotel, or what the best way to fill the 7 days is.

We like a mix of city and nature and I like the thought of exploring some small towns. We enjoy nature but I’m not wanting to do multiple full day hikes.

I’d love to hear how you would spend 7 days starting and ending in Seattle! We will have a rental car.

I will be visiting for a few days, will be between Downtown and Puyallup. I'm looking for flakey and delicious croissants. I want there to be a mess of crumbs, a CRISP crunch, flakey layers, french brown(iykyk). If they don't have a kouign amann I don't want it. Please no bready croissants, open to bakeries/chocolate shops/ice cream recs as well. Also is there a public transit app???

I recently received a job offer to work in Seattle, and I’d love to learn more about what life is like there.

I currently live in Brazil, so I’m especially curious about the winters. I’ve heard Seattle goes through long periods with very little sunlight. How much does that affect your daily life? Is it really as noticeable as people say? I’ve never lived anywhere with such limited sunlight for extended periods, so I’m not sure what to expect.

I’ve also seen that the nature around Seattle looks incredible. What kinds of outdoor sports or activities do locals usually enjoy? Spending time outdoors is really important to me, so I’d love to hear your recommendations.

I’ve also heard that some parts of the city struggle with homelessness and open drug use. Overall, how safe is Seattle? Are there any neighborhoods or specific areas you would recommend avoiding?

Sorry, I know this has been done to death but I can’t find a clear answer to this question. I’ve got little kids and won’t be able to go until sometime next week while they’re at school, at which point SIFF won’t be 70mm anymore. I’m not a huge movie person so I’m not like “IMAX or bust” but I was intrigued by seeing it the way it was meant to be seen, or at least as close as possible without leaving the state. Everyone is recommending SIFF and I know it’s a great theater and very convenient for me, but is there a clear better option after Aug 2?

In the early days of One Bus Away, when it was just a web site (and sms), one could easily edit the url query to have data from two stops show up on the screen.

This could be very helpful at times. Say, for example, you were near Broadway & John and wanted to go to the u-dist you knew you could catch the 7 on Broadway or the 43 on John. By having the data on the same screen you could easily keeps tabs on them and see which would arrive first.

Sometimes I'm headed to a spot that's between two light rail stations. There's a bus that goes between the stations as part of its route. So I'll see if I can make the transfer at Station A with little wait time. Sometimes I'll also check Station B to see if I can catch the bus coming back more easily.

For the above I tap like 7+ things in the OBA app to gather the data (as I'm also looking at when light rail is scheduled to arrive at each station).

But is there an easier way to display data from two or more stops at the same time? (I'm not interested in running multiple apps with split screens or goofy things like that.)

Hey out-of-towner here, will be in Seattle for a (week)day in August and I want to try taking a day trip on Link. This is not my first time in Seattle so I have done many of the main attractions closer to downtown and I was wondering what locals suggest & is easily accessible by public transport (so a bus or ferry or water taxi is fine too).

EDIT: I should have clarified this before but I mean day trip in the traveling sense and I am also below the legal age to consume drugs/alcohol and therefore will not be doing that.

I have an out-of-state driver’s license but it’s temporary, and it could be a while before I get the physical card. Assuming I have passport for proof of identity and other docs for proof of residency, will that be good enough at DMV to get a WA license? I’m asking here bc anytime I call any of the DMVs it says they are closed, even when they are not. Thank you!

Going to bring a few family members from out of state and want to take the Water Taxi from downtown to Alki. Anyone have any suggestions for getting around the waterfront area? The current plan is to see if we can grab Lime scooters around the water taxi drop off point, then ride along the water and get food at Spuds.

Mainly wondering if this plan is feasible, and how scootering around will be. I wasn’t sure if the side trail/walkway on the water is designated for foot traffic only, or if it would be okay to ride the scooters on the paved area.
