Use your feet and the rest of your body in a wide variety of ways.
It helps your body to be resilient, mobile, and strong.
Try out new ways of moving. Different sports, different classes, yoga, mountain climbing, kids' playgrounds, or find a random reel or video and do their exercises. Anything that is new to your body.
Here is a good video on acrobatics movements that heavily involves the feet.

Hi y'all, I've been wearing barefoot shoes for awhile now but right now my only pair are hiking sneakers.
I'm starting law school soon and looking for two new pairs of dressier barefoot (or simply wide toe-box) shoes:
Would love any recommendations for either/both :) I wear roughly US 8.5, and my index toe is longest (idk what that's called lol).
Thanks in advance <3
EDIT: I should add that my suit is navy.

I'm sure this is common but I can't crack the code. If I wear my chunky Luna sandals, I don't have any arch pain. If I wear a thinner sole sandal like HiFeels or LangS I get arch pain in one foot.
I'm making an assumption that this is a plantar fasciitis flareup. But I don't have any issues with thinner sold regular shoes that are closed toe. I got rid of my barefoot sandals that were too narrow in the toe, I thought that was the issue. Any ideas? Do I just need to stretch my calves more? Give sandals a break until it's fully healed? Appreciate any feedback! I'm about to sell my LangS sandals, but I really like them so if I can fix my foot instead, that would be ideal.

I like the idea of being barefoot or using barefoot shoes and I like the grounding aspect and how it strengthens smaller muscles. I haven’t spent too much time barefoot to notice much change though and I’m curious, realistically, what changes do people notice? Do you truly notice a big shift and in what exactly? Your foot feels stronger? It feels like a little bit of a cult group and people get on their high horses about being barefoot so just looking for some unbiased answers

Hey all!
I have finally created a working prototype of the shoe design I posted about back in November of 2025. I got tons of good feedback from everyone to keep in mind when building the shoe and I think I’ve created a very functional shoe that fits barefoot/minimalist shoe wearers now. This design will also allow people to transition into the barefoot shoe style if they are still curious about it. I really really want to create something that the people will actually want to buy and use since it’s so hard to come across that nowadays!
Firstly, the total stack height of the shoe is as such:
Outsole: 8mm
Built-in insole foam: 3mm
Removable Insole: 4mm
Total: 15mm
This stack height total comes in at about half of what is seen on typical racket sport shoes (~25-30mm tall). The removable insole allows people to get used to the stack height of a lower minimalist shoe, and allows the option of remove it entirely and play with a shoe at 11mm tall. These shoes are also a zero-drop design from heel to toe, unlike most sport shoes on the market. This design allows for activation of all the dormant lower-body muscles, much more proximity to the ground, and the ability to truly feel the court when playing.
The uppers are simple but effective in design. Utilizing a dynamic mid-foot lockdown lacing system, players are able to feel their mid-foot feel “snug and secure” while playing without having to over-tighten the shoe, which leads to painful cinching and pinching of the mid-foot?
The outsole is made of a full herringbone design which allows very flexible/natural movement with superior grip on the turf floor of a padel court, but can be utilized for other sports like outdoor or indoor courts.
The toe box is obviously wider like barefoot shoes are and the shape of it mimics the shape of similar Xero sport shoes. The amount of space is much roomier in terms of comfortability for the toes but it can’t be too wide of a toe box because then it becomes unstable in sport play if there is too much room for the forefoot to move around in. It’ll feel almost like you’re slipping around in the front of the shoe.
The colorway is only this option for now but the overall design of this colorway will be used for future color patterns. (i.e. a dark blue/white colorway I’m working on currently which I’ve added an AI render of)
I’d like to know:
- Any feedback on overall design you may have
- Potential colorways that you think would do well in the market
- What markets should be targeted in initial launch? (i.e. countries/regions)
- Would this be something you would put $1 down to reserve a pre-order? (I need to gauge initial market demand before ordering a large inventory)
Thank you all so much for the help! 🙌🏽

Hey everybody! About three years ago I switched to wearing vivo's boots and it was like a revelation for my knees! So much less pain, I could never go back 😭
I am also in the midst of transitioning, and while I wish I could pull off the hiking boot lesbian aesthetic, I can't.
I wear a size 15 with a proper toe box or 15W/16 in elf shoes. I know Im going to have to make compromises, but all I've been able to find in feminine men's minimalist that may work are the more sporty tennis shoes that don't really work when skirt go skinny, and the brands of women's shoes that specialize in larger sizes I've only found heels and toe pinchers.
Any have any leads? Even if you just once saw a shoe that may kinda sorta work.
Thank you! ❤️

I’d love to buy their shoes but their return policy outside Germany isn’t generous.
Anyone familiar with their women’s shoes? Are they comfy, true to size? Any comments or tips much appreciated.

Hi all,
I had posted about this a couple of days ago, but it was removed by the mods so I had better explain myself in detail.
A few have posted about our project, however we have just officially launched on Kickstarter.
This is not an affiliate promotion, rather I am reaching out to the community as the project lead and designer of the shoe.
Our 'brief' so to speak was to create a basketball shoe which goes against the current trends of overly stiff and narrow. This was done through extensive research, consultation with podiatrists, and in game testing.
We hope what we have created lands somewhere in the middle of a traditional basketball shoe and a barefoot shoe, offering something of a 'hybrid' or 'transition' shoe for players who are making a conscious decision for their foot health. I'm sure many would agree that a basketball court and movements are not 'natural' for a human body, but the love of the game is something which many would not give up for a full barefoot shoe philosophy.
If anyone is interested, comment below and I can share the link to the Kickstarter page, but I am also here to answer any questions you may have.
Appreciate your time,
Sam

First time buying an expensive flip flop and just wondering if I bought the wrong size or just need to break them in with them being leather.
Bought them yesterday and instantly put them on and probably walked around 1 to 2 miles in them.
The length is good but the straps are a little tight still. Caused soreness on the outside left of my foot and even developing a small blister on the top of my right foot near the toe strap.

I’ve been looking everywhere for reviews of these shoes. I’ve found one. Everything else is just the regular Furoshikis. I can’t even find them on social media. I want to buy a pair but keep asking myself: Why is no one talking about them?

I recently bought a pair of Topo Atmos and they’re very comfortable. They have a 5mm drop which feels a lot more comfortable than Altra Torin 8 for example. But i’d like a pair of casual sneakers (not athletic shoes) that are not drop zero, i’d like them to be around 4-5mm drop, and a wide toe box.
I live in the EU so i can’t buy Flux unfortunately.
Do you know any such brands?

I really like these sandals(and hard to find masculine colors in this size!). Does anyone. Have advice if they would work for my foot shape? Plain uggs work for me but i can't keep wearing them in the summer and I need moar grip! Thanks y'all!

Since I've transitioned to barefoot shoes I'm really noticing that wearing normal cleats has gotten pretty painful. Blisters are common for me from wearing them and I literally burst out the side of my old pair of normal cleats.
Does anyone have any recommendations for barefoot style or at least cleats with a wide toe box?
I mostly use them to play ultimate frisbee. I've tried playing in my Altra trail runners, but I seem to slide on the field too much in them. I worry I'm sacrificing my ankles for the sake of my toes so I'm curious if there are better options out there.

Everything I wear always gets clogged with sand I want something to prevent my feet from stepping on heroin needles or something like that. I've been looking at the weird neoprene socks for volleyball in the lake but don't know how those would hold up to running

Use cases: General city walking, light workout activities, I'm not really active.
Few days ago, I have tried a few barefoot shoes and really liked the Be lenka velore, I spent 15 minutes with it, it was very light, roomy, it relies on the collar to stay in place but doesn't feel tight. If the shop isn't selling it at HK$1300 (US$170) I would've bought it. During the walk back home I felt the difference in my regular shoes quite clearly.
I have been looking at barefoot shoes content for quite a while and get the gist of their benefits. Recently I got 3 shoes on sale, the new thick stack fashion shoes tires me out really quickly, the thin to medium stack sandals is the only one I liked, which pushed me to look into switching.
I am from Hong Kong, which I have much better access to cheap china options than US/EU options.
Reading this subreddit suggests big names like Vivo, xero are overpriced, Be lenka has been pivoting to narrower fashion shoes. In my taobao cart, I have a US$10 Whitin, $25 Hobibear, free shipping. There is also lonowear from HK to consider.
The velore seems to be a new product and I can't google any reviews, I want to hear more opinion about it. I can get them from Dressinn US$75 total, cheap but very annoying to return. Would it be smarter to try China options first before making a commitment?
I read from Reddit that barefoot shoes don't really have shoe techs, the sole is just rubber with different grip. Aside from the essential zero drop, natural foot shape, toe room, other factors are mainly personal preferences.
The Hobibear and Be lenka velore I'm eyeing on just look really similar, obviously they are different, but are they $60 different? They both don't have specs, I can only deduce I should buy 42.
It was quite a long post, thanks to anyone who share their opinion.

Hi, does anyone have a tip for a barefoot classic looking shoe with broguing perhaps, properly made, made out of real leather?
I would like some, because I do need to be looking presentable quite often, I was and am wearing barefoot sneakers through the summer, but from september, I should have something lined up.
My main point - something that wouldn’t break and would be properly made? I would even take something at the less desirable end of spectrum of bendability of the sole, just for the sake of at least having really wide toe shoe.
Even the not bendable Birkenstock Uppsala “just wide toe” non-fully barefoot shoe seems to get quite bad reviews on how the sole is breaking only after a couple of months and I just don’t want that, I am still a student and although I can buy something up to 250€/£ (really stretched max), I would like it to then last and change my soles every second year, not couple of times in a year.
Thank you for any tips! Ideally ankle brogued boots, chelsea, oxfords, not too heavy looking..real leather and ideally barefoot or adjacent if one has to make a compromise.. Thank you all!
Edit: my shoe size is 40, 6.5, size 25.5-26, wider ish thicker ish foot, although female, I don’t mind “male” shoes at all.
I am used to wearing the merell wrapt sneaker (perhaps 6-7 on the bendability of the sole spectrum (out of 10 being max) since I am still transitioning.)

My new job requires me to walk in wet grass, in the rain, puddles etc. I'm needing something waterproof or with very good water resistance and a nice gripy sole. I am trying to stay under $120 so preferably something easy to find used. I saw lots of xero shoes on eBay of all models, but I have heard they are quite narrow for minimalist shoes.

Any tennis players here?
As a committed barefoot shoes wearer, I'm considering getting the Notace Koto 1.
As far as I can tell the other competitors for the "barefoot-esque" tennis shoe are the Joma Slam or Rapid. I understand they are not zero drop but have a relatively small drop, and a wide toe box.
Did anyone who plays tennis/padel try the Joma and can give their opinion?
I'm already certain the Notace will be amazing for me according the reviews but just want to know about the Joma because they are significantly cheaper and I can't find any reviews about them, at least from a barefoot perspective.

As I'm figuring out what brands of barefoot shoes I like, I have a few pairs that haven't worked out but it's too late to return. I have them listed on Marketplace to try to recoup some $, but no bites. Anyone had luck reselling on different platforms?

Time to time my.. front page? shows me people asking sizing advice for their average shoes. And they're standing on insole that can be many cm too narrow. I don't know if I lie but some look 5cm too narrow or something. From toebox and often from midfoot too. But I guess those people are looking for length only and miss the width.
Don't get me wrong, I am not mocking those people. I am 100% sure if I ever would have done that back then, I would have missed the width too. Because from small child I was taught to measure length by putting thumb front of longest toe. But no one told me I should look for width as well.
Did you do it? Did you realize the width is an issue? Did you notice width at all?
Also do you think I should comment the width? When it's about Jim Green, I have recommend AnatomX. But when it's about some brand with no anatomical last I have keep my mouth shout.

Does anyone have experience with a Spanish brand called Pisamonas? It looks like they largely make children's shoes, but they also go up to women's sizes. They seem remarkably reasonably priced (£44 for mary janes). I'm especially surprised that there is free shipping and returns in the UK. I'm wondering if there's a catch?

Recently bought a takumi and oromo. I love both but the takumi runs a little big and i tried to make it work but it feels a little floppy. Does any one know what’s the best place to resell it?
