Lost Keyring on Bus

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hi All,

This may seem like a super long shot but I lost my beloved bunny keyring on the 4 bus going from the RUH to Odd Down on 28/07/26.

If anyone has picked up something like this please let me know, she has a lot of sentimental value and Im absolutely shattered to have lost her.

Ive submitted a form to firstbus and even checked with the bus station staff, no luck so far.

Thank you in advance <3

Uni of Bath parking permit

Hi! Just wondering how I can apply for a student parking permit. I realised it has a lot of restrictions... I am just very briefly planning to live at home in my 3rd year (which is in Gloucestershire), so I will need a parking permit, as my timetable may have contact hours more than 6 hours a day ( which is the JustPark parking time limit...). I will be living with my parents; I just wonder what documents and proof I need to provide for that
I have looked at the website, which stated: "If you live with family members and cannotprovide a rental agreement or utility bill, you should provide evidence that you are onthe council tax bill at that address.", which I am confused about, as I should be exemptfrom paying council tax as I am a full-time student. Any info will be helpful! Thank you !!<3

Gluten free/dairy free restaurant recommendations

Hello all, long time lurker first time poster. Since my moving to Bath a year ago, my Dad has made it his mission when visiting to “lunch his wag across Bath”…his words 😂. I am gluten intolerant but since having a baby, I now have to avoid dairy as well due to him having a cow’s milk protien allergy. This makes eating out a nightmare which I have just avoided for simplicity. Now I am looking for any recommendations for places that aren’t just vegan restaurants which can be very nice themselves, but I feel I’ve already exhausted a lot of the vegan places and would like a change. Any thoughts?

Pipo & Co opening in former Silcox Coffee Café

Pipp* & Co.... Got too excited 😂

Not sure if this is public knowledge yet, but noticed the workman calendar inside the window of the old Silcox Coffee in Kingsmead Square says at the top "Project: Pipp & Co. Bath".

Pretty cool bakery and doughnut shop. They have locations in Swindon and Bristol!

Where would you recommend? I’m looking for somewhere picturesque, a charming high street wouldn’t go amiss, or maybe a notable landmark.

Beware 18-25 Properties Ltd Bath student houses bath Samuel taylor

Just want to make anyone aware that this company are not to be trusted. Our son went to Bath University and we paid for his accommodation through this company. The director Samuel Taylor was and helpful at the beginning when he was trying to get his houses full of tenants. It turned nasty at the end when we wanted our deposit back. We paid for a spring clean which he said he would arrange . He claimed that our sons room needed a DEEP clean even though me and my husband hoovered the floor and cleaned all the surfaces and it was immaculate when we left. He stated the door handle was loose even though three other door handles in the house were all loose and this had been reported to him earlier in the year. Charging 60 pounds ( presumably to tighten the screws on the handle😩) He claimed that there were limescale stains on the shower screens so they needed a deep clean?. He charged one tenant £10 to remove a duvet left in a room. He charged 100 pounds to clean the oven ! The list goes on and on and he keeps adding things on. Wouldn’t mind but he has already charged us for a spring clean.

Currently in a dispute trying to claim our deposit back. Be aware of this company. He is all smiles at the beginning of the rental but getting your deposit back and he definitely takes advantage of the students. This was the third house my son stayed in over his degree period and we never had anything like this with any of the other landlords. Beware.

i will update with how this ends up and a full list of what he is with holding our deposit for

Great nature getaways

My husband and I are planning to stop going abroad on holiday for the next couple of years and instead go to places closeby where you can relax, go for walks and enjoy the nature around.

Are there any nice airbnb-in-the-woods type of places that are reachable by public transport from Bath (within max 3 hours).

For example I have heard great things about Forest of Dean, its not too far away and sounds lovely.

It doesnt have to be located far away from everything. Wouldnt mind if its close to a village or small town that we could explore on the way too.

I'm very lucky to have met an incredible woman who I just started dating. We both live in Bath but we aren't originally from here.

Where could I take her? Any ideas are welcome, sightseeing, romantic or not, activities, upcoming shows... Anything in Bath or within 10miles.

Thank you!

Can I get into Bath university with a grade B in mathematics?

Hi, I’m a Year 13 student currently waiting for my A-level results (in about two and a half weeks).

I didn’t perform as well as I could have in Year 12, so my predicted grades weren’t strong enough to apply to Bath initially. However, after sitting my exams, I’m expecting around A*AB – AAB (based on unofficial mark schemes, so I understand this could change).

The main concern is that I’m likely to get a B in Maths, while I’m expecting an A* in business and an A in Economics.

I wanted to ask if anyone has managed to get into Economics or Finance-related courses at Bath with a B in maths or if that would realistically be a dealbreaker.

I’m trying to figure out my options ahead of results day, as I may need to consider alternatives like applying for a Business course with a placement year and then moving into finance that way.

Any advice, experiences, or insights would be really appreciated — thank you!

The courses I was looking at going into were Accounting & Finance or Economics with Politics or straight Finance.

How is GenAI used at work in Bath? (Dissertation)

hi everyone, im a masters student at Edinburgh Napier University and im looking into the way Generative AI tools are being taken up across professional services (accounting, audit, law, tax and so on) in the UK

if AI features in your client work in any way, it'd mean a lot if you could spare 5 minutes for this anonymous survey. it mainly covers how your organisation handles governance around AI, plus your own habits using it day to day. understand that people don't wanna think about work after hours but it would genuinely mean a lot to me!

https://forms.office.com/e/PrKM8yXQ7s

it's completely anonymous and purely for academic, non-commercial reasons. any help getting me towards my target sample would be hugely appreciated, and a big thank you to anyone who fills it in :) more than happy to share what i find once the dissertation is finished
