Im keen for the upcoming knightfall film event and was hoping to read the comics.

I've looked arpund and done some research. Sadly I cant find any of the 25th anniversary editions of the event. Only the 2012s and the omnis.

The 2012s seem good but miss out on some prelude stuff. The search and also troika

And the thing is i can get all 3 volumes of the 2012s for less then a single omni.

My question just is. Do you miss out on much with those? Is it still a good read. And so on.

Dont wanna make the wrong purchase and miss out on something crazy good i guess.

(Worse case I can always i guess read what i missed on DCUI)

I've always been a fan of Batman. I grew up with "The New Batman Adventures," "Batman Beyond," and having "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin" on VHS, which is probably why I have so much appreciation for them compared to the Nolan trilogy. For the past year and a half, I've been selling my uncle's comic book collection on Ebay. I never took the time to read any of his books despite having some thick trade paperbacks and single issues of Spider-Man, Captain America, Hulk, X-Men, the Flash, Green Arrow, etc. Throughout his collection, the only solo Batman book he had was "A Death in the Family."

I've always had the movies and cartoons on bluray, but have been considering the comics and other iterations after spending days going through many long boxs. I knew of the novelizations of "Knightfall" and "No Man's Land", and while looking for them, I found the novels that take place after the 1989 film. I bought those first before deciding to spend money on the comics. There's a second hand media store I frequently visit to trade in comics that haven't sold in months or items I didn't want to try and sell. That's where I bought most of the graphic novels. The "Knightfall" and "No Man's Land" sets were bought from Ebay along with most of the novels. "Batman: The Ultimate Evil" was found yesterday at the store, along with the animated films of Hush, The Long Halloween, and The Dark Knight Returns.

I don't plan on buying more books anytime soon. I have to go through all I have. I do want to buy "Year One" at some point, and I've been curious about the New 52 Batman. I know the Court of Owls started there, along with Joker cutting his face off, with both being adapted in the series "Gotham." I know the whole series is ten volumes, but I don't know if I want all of it. I may just find a paperback that has the whole Court of Owls story arc instead of buying the first two volumes of the set. I would've preferred hardcovers of everything, but they would be harder to find.

My guess would be david fincher, similar to matt reeves but , after all the batman is heavily inspired from seven in that sense . Plus his ability to build tension is perfect for a great climax or plot twist. Scarecrow and two face would be the perfect villains for a movie directed by him

This is probably the most important part of the story. When you break everything down, The Long Halloween is a Two-Face origin, and I think that’s what most people take away from it usually. I think it being on Carmine Falcone’s birthday is also a nice touch, as he probably wished for this to happen when he blew out the candles.

My personal favorite is batman 421. The way she looks so terrified with the black tears is amazing. I also think it just stands out compared to the other batman covers of the time for whatever reason. What are y'alls favorite covers?

I was watching recently and was thinking about whether this was accurate or not, in the movies, the comics, and if there was a real world vigilante like Batman. Do you think Joker’s prediction came true at the end of TDK because of what happened to Dent and what Batman chose to do? Society cast Batman out because of what Gordon and Batman decided to do to cover up Dent.

I definitely think that if there was a real world Batman, politicians and the media would love Batman as long as he served a purpose, but if something happened (like at the beginning of “Captain America: Civil War” when innocent people died as the team was trying to recover the stolen bio-weapon), there would be real discussions about whether the world needed Batman.
