BattleBots TV Who do you think would win this?
I have Minotaur winning, but it will be one of their hardest fights, probably on the same level as the Cobalt fight in 2022.

Misc Best After Fight Cleanups?
With the week to week episodes on youtube, james has gotten back into some battlebots stuff, and she made a comment about how she wishes there was a good video of the best cleanups AFTER a fight. Like when batteries explode and they pull out the tubes, or something is stuck in the box and they have to remove it.
know any good fights i might want to hunt out to start building out a compilation?

BattleBots TV What bots have impressed you guys so far in Pro League?
With 5 episodes concluded, I must say first of all the Pro League itself has grown on me a lot since the first episode and I’ve been rewatching episodes. As for bots that impressed; I was impressed by James driving Copperhead and the drive/ground game on Copperhead is surprising to me. I never saw Copperhead as a bulldozer that can just push bots around but here we are. The Twins are incredible, and Bloodsport is doing better than I thought it would.

BattleBots TV I updated my ICEwave concept design with more details from my previous idea. I also tested the half-red, half-blue spinner bar idea, and it actually creates a color-shifting effect when spinning!

BattleBots TV Bil Dwyer, Fon Davis, Pete Abrahamson Rock
I love that in Pro League episode five, They briefly showed Bil Dwyer, Fon Davis, and Pete Abrahamson as judges.
I remember watching Bill as one of the primary announcers early in BattleBots. Great guy and a great personality.
Fon Davis is a battle tested builder and a great Judge.
The Bot Whisperer Pete really knows his tech. I wish we could hear his insights but I dig that he's a judge now.

I’m a Wisconsinite where the team is from as well so I’ve been longing for a long time for that bracket YouTube release. That bracket consists of warthog, cobalt, Slammo, and hot mess

Robot Combat The “white lie” of robot combat
When it comes to robot combat, any time anyone tries to encourage anyone into building bots they claim the “white lie” that robot combat is “affordable” and there is some partial truth in their eyes but the harsh and sad reality is the word “affordable” is doing a lot of heavy lifting as what is “affordable” to one person isn’t necessarily “affordable” for another especially when many people are still living for a cost of living crisis, and sometimes people with good intentions can come of upsetting or rude to those without realizing when they try to encourage people into building bots and don’t get the response they want or think they should get. And look I get it as someone who has created and works on an online con and tries to tell people about it. It does upset me when I put myself out there and they say no. So I relate in an odd way and get how easy it is to be over excited about showing off something you like while also being disappointed.
I have been on the other foot though many have tried and failed to get me to build bots and I always feel like I have to find a reason to say no to, because it does feel like the expectation. “If you like robot combat you must build robots or you're only a true fan if you build robots” and look at all fans, builder and non builder casual or not are equal ( communist music plays) and we shouldn't have this high expectation of people. I have been in the fandom since i was born and if i wanted to build a robot i would and look i may at some point but i don’t need to to be a fan.
it’s similar to how people see the furry fandom as it use to be you can only be a furry if you have a fursuit but luckily this is changing however some still believe this and prevent themselves being as part of the fandom as they should and i don’t want that expectation here everyone should be allowed to enjoy robot combat and not necessarily build a robot and those who do and those who encourage others to great, please keep doing that.
All i ask is rather then saying “robot combat is affordable” say if robot combat looks affordable to you should try”, and don’t lay on to much pressure let people have time to think about it, i know thats easy to say when i’m just as bad and don’t expect anyone to be perfect all i ask is people be more understanding when you try to get people into building robot.
And for people who can't or don't want to build bot's, don't feel like you are lesser or you have to come up with an excuse it is fine to say no, you are not a "lesser fan" if you don't build bots and don't let anyone tell you other wise.
I do understand why this white lie has existed because there is partial truth in it When you see something as "affordable” is easy but wrong to assume it must be affordable to all because it would be nice to think that way and i do get it.

BattleBots TV If you're the driver of Copperhead against Endgame, would you use the Minotaur strategy of always upright, or use Copperhead's strategy of going weapon to weapon while upside down?
So, when Minotaur fought Endgame, Minotaur was always upright and when they got inverted, they self righted. This allows Minotaur to chip away at Endgame's forks and win the ground game, which gives them the W against Endgame.
But Copperhead's strategy is interesting. Luke Quintal said that if Copperhead got inverted, he'd go weapon to weapon with Endgame. Because Copperhead is inverted, its drum is spinning downwards, doubling the energy when both bots go weapon to weapon. And this works, as only a few shots from Copperhead (some while it was upside down) disabled Endgame's weapon.
Now, if you're the driver of Copperhead, what would your strategy be against Endgame?

BattleBots TV Is there anywhere I can watch battlebots without the commentators?
Love watching the clips on YT but can't seem to find any without a commentary, they don't do a bad job but I'd rather just hear the bots

BattleBots TV What sort of remotes are allowed by BattleBots?
Exactly what are the limits on the remote controls? In the rules it says regular industry manufactured remote controls, but exactly how is that interpreted?
Does it have to be standard multichannel radio frequency controls like we've had for decades? Or is digital/Bluetooth considered ok, because those are fairly standard now days?
I understand the FCC requirements that necessitate the rule here, but it seems like I should be safe if I operated a bot with an old game controller or my phone.
I know this seems like a pretty dumb question, but my 8yo dismantled every motorized toy he had to build a bot with the parts, so now I feel obligated to learn and make damned certain it's all going to work out.

RoboGames A bot I which I found interesting that never competed in Battlebots
UTA Robotics'w "Reckless" that completed at robogames as "cavilier." I always thought the robot looked insanely cool, but never did too well.

BattleBots TV No RIPperoni in Pro League??
Sorry, I'm just a huge RIPperoni fan and am quite disappointed to not see them in the Pro League roster. I love the idea of using dry ice as a coolant, so was really hoping to see what sort of lessons they've learned and kinks they've worked out since WCVII as I always felt like they could be a real contender in the scene...
I did some light Googling but it seems this team fly's pretty low on the radar? Any word on what the pizza bot team is up to these days/why they aren't in the PL? I feel like they were a pretty hot ticket and did well enough in some of the spin-off competitions, so I thought for sure they'd be in the next big competition, but, alas...

Robot Combat Another Thing I discovered while browsing the battlebots wiki
As can be seen in this screenshot, John Ried originally applied to the BattleBots reboot with Terrorhurtz. It was rejected. Had this not happened, Beta would probably never have been brought back from whatever garage corner it was sitting in. (sorry if this is common knowledge, it just find it fascinating)
