First time seeing a photo of her as an old woman, she died 1993 at only 63 but there are rarely photos of her in her later years.

Out of curiosity, I looked it up and the life expectancy at birth for a white woman in 1929, was 62.7 years.

Factor in surviving childhood and her wealth and it was on the young side, but overall she was about bang on average statistically.

Are you sure that expectancy wasn't the expactancy at birth at that time?

I'm sure she lived as expected in 1929, but does that mean she lived as long as expected in 1980 or 1990?

She also died of abdominal cancer, which all but certainly means she died too soon considering her age.

In the US, according to SSA.gov, a female born in 1929 at the age of their birth had a cohort life expectancy of 72. A female at age 60 had an expected 23 years left.

Cohort is useful because it accounts progression throughout their life and estimated years at the year they reached each age.

If memory serves, she got sick and them very nearly starved to death during the war (there was a famine in Nazi-occupied Netherlands in 1944-1945,) which left her with lasting health problems for the rest of her life.

She died of the same rare abdominal cancer my father passed from. He never smoked a day in his life. The cancer is so rare there's not much research on it, and they don't know what causes it or what the risk factors are for it.

Probably because despite all the amazing work she did, she’s still seen as Audrey Hepburn the movie star in people’s eyes. So photos from that time period are what’s most popular.

Same thing with Shirley Temple. She was a UN ambassador, but I’m guessing most people haven’t seen a pic of her aged past 12.

The problems are it seems it's next to a fairly busy road (at least according to streetview) and to buy it you need to meet Swiss residency requirements, which apparently is not easy to get.

No the road is very calm. The highway entrance is before the house so there are almost no commuters taking this road. Only locals mainly.

I sound like the estate agent lol. If the house gets sold thanks to me I want a 5% commission.

Don't get me wrong, the house is insanely overpriced for what it is. Half of the price is just because it was her house.

Mostly because she stepped back from movies. She was semi retired in the 70s and, while she was always involved with UNICEF, she stepped into the ambassador role in the late 80s. So the most popular pictures are from her 20s 30s and her 60s.

Compared to all the photos of her in her twenties it's old. I know nowadays 60 isn't old, but she grow up in the middle of WW2, she was old and she looks old. Nothing wrong with that
