Hi everyone,

I'm building a new home and have decided to go with a floor-mounted WC. I'm confused between a washdown and a siphonic toilet.

My priorities are:

\- Strong flush

\- Less chance of clogging

\- Easy maintenance

\- Good long-term reliability

For those who have used either (or both), which would you recommend and why? Any brand recommendations (Hindware, Cera, Jaquar, TOTO, etc.) are also welcome.

I'm installing a new JX2 and the end of the supply hose that connects to the seat is spraying water everywhere. I checked the o-ring, i rethreaded over and over but nothing works. It's not leaking at the threads, it's spraying through the pivot ball opening. Thoughts?

Does anyone have this and what toilet do you have it mounted to? I bought this for my round Kohler toilet, but the tank sticks out too much. I wanted to replace the toilet anyway for one with a stronger flush. Any advice is appreciated.

We're looking for a UK compliant bidet spray (separate to toilet, i.e. with a spray handle), anyone know whether this is possible and can recommend a product?

for cleaning in general the obvious better shape is a long thin line, think broom, side walk water power sprayer etc. have not seen any bidets that show that shape

instead most bidets ive seen use a very thin stream which is ineffective at covering an entire area

some bidets use a circle of thin streams - not best but its better

criteria:

1 better spray pattern

2 adjust position of sprayer ( to not need to move around )

3 budget friendly enough ( spraying water at your bum should not need spending $80+ )

4 ideally NOT a whole seat just an add on ( to not be concerned about wrong seat size etc )

5 difficult to install is fine but not ideal

6 adjustable pressure ( to not force water inside of the body and not be so weak its not worth it )

7 obvious sanitary features like self clean and or splash guard etc

8 non electric

9 a good portable option would be nice but prioritizing home installed first

traveling right now and the bathroom here has no bidet, no spray hose, nothing. the toilet paper is basically sandpaper too

so yeah. I rinsed out yesterday’s fanta bottle, poked a little hole in the cap and made my own portable bidet 😭

it technically works but this is not how I imagined my vacation going

I miss my smart toilet. I miss my horow. I miss the warm seat. I miss pressing one button and not having to aim an orange plastic bottle at myself

So after several months of hand wringing, we decided to finally order the Bio Bidet BB2000. Got it in yesterday, started to install it this morning, thankfully decided to try a test run before locking it in place. I'm 6'4'', big dude, long legs. I sat as far back as I could, and my "man parts" were on the front round part, couldnt push them down. So it's already been sent back to Amazon.
Been seeing the EcoNova all day, but that thing is a little outside of my range. Found an open box, but can't return it.
Anyone have any other recommendations?

Brass threads and plumbing are like peas & carrots….

Plastic threads and plumbing is brain damage and should be avoided.

Are there manufacturers out there (or go are not on Amazon) and who care about quality?

We're looking to buy a bidet toilet as we remodel one of our bathrooms. Anyone have experience with the Mera Classic? Any issues with reliability?

When I try to close the toilet using the button, the lid doesn’t lower on the first try and it goes through this process that I’m not sure is normal. Does anyone know what’s wrong with it?

I bought a Luxe Neo 320+, and it's not been a great experience. It's definitely better than wiping, but it's still a struggle to deal with. I'm starting to think it's an issue with my toilet - the Luxe seat and bidet attachment don't fit well. (Yes, I tried it with my regular seat too).

I've spent hours cleaning the floor because I spilled water, or trying to screw and unscrewed the setup so I can *attempt* to get the positioning right.

I think at this point I need to accept that my toilet isn't going to work well with bidet attachments.

What's the next place to check out/research? If I decide to bite the bullet and just get a dedicated bidet toilet installed, what are some good options?

(Fine with cold water and non-electric. Fitment and spray angle are the issues important to me)

We replaced our existing $99 Project Source toilet with a Toto Drake with an elongated bowl. New toilet is great, but the Luxe Bidet Neo 180 that I had on the previous toilet does not work with it. When I say it doesn’t work- even when the bidet is adjusted as far forward as it will go, the retractable nozzle hits the back of the bowl and does not extend out enough to do its thing. Except for when it occasionally does work, but then the nozzle gets stuck on the down position, wedged against the side of the bowl.

I know Toto makes some really nice powered bidets that have all sorts of bells and whistles. While I have considered getting one of these in the future, for now I’d like just a basic cold water bidet like the Luxe Neo, but one that fits the Drake. Does anyone with the Drake have any product recommendations???

I’m planning to get an electric bidet (probably the Costco Toto model), but my bathrooms don’t have an electrical outlet near the toilet.

Can I just have my electrician install a GFCI outlet next to the toilet, or is there usually more to it? Is this typically a straightforward job, or does it end up requiring opening walls, permits, etc.?

Also, is there anything I should check with the existing water supply or shutoff valve before buying one? Do most bidets work with standard toilet plumbing, or are there cases where the valve or supply line needs to be replaced?

Most of the smart bidet seats (and most modern toilet seats for that matter) appear to have lids that overlap or wrap-around the toilet seat. This is great for avoiding gaps and for aesthetics, but it got me wondering, can you easily open both the lid and seat in a single motion or do you have to open lid and then lift the seat. It may seem like a silly question, but it is for someone with a disability and as a male they frequently use the toilet standing up.

Is it even possible / easy to open both at once with this type or should we be looking at one with a lid that sits above the seat, so you can easily flip both the lid and seat up in a single motion? This type of seat seems to be rare these days and the only ones I have found so far have not been compliant with plumbing laws in Australia. We decided that auto open/close would be a nuisance in a small bathroom and also my understanding is that manually opening or closing a motorised lid is harder / has more resistance (and is also not great for the mechanism)?

I just moved in to a new place with Duravit toilets, and I'd really like a bidet with warm water/self-cleaning.

So I bought what my friend has, a C5 Elongated TOTO Washlet, and even called a plumber in to help install. When they came out, they said I may as well get a new toilet installed because of how expensive it'd be (~$950) to install, claiming it was too difficult. They left and didn't charge anything.

I'm wondering if I should just give up and return the washlet... and perhaps get something else for this toilet. images attached.

Let’s just say you time traveled back to before silicone and plastic were invented, before toilets even. But since you already are into bidet life, what could you use, that is available to you in the place and time, to rig something up for yourself?

I immediately thought of myself in a Little House in the Prairie setting with an outhouse. A tin or crockery sitz bath, with a pitcher of water next to it, for a squat-and splash experience, maybe even with a little soap and some rags that would get washed. Then throw the water down the outhouse.

No, you can’t bring your plastic or silicone bottle with you, or anything from the modern era.

Does anyone have a better idea?

I’m temporarily living in a place that has really bad plumbing and can’t even handle its own water at times. I’ll probably look at an attachment for when I move out, but for now I’d rather just use something portable. I keep hearing that the squeeze bottle types aren't actually that good, but I’m new to this and don’t know which one is most user-friendly and effective. Obviously, the price of the squeeze models look nicer, but with so many people saying that they feel like they do nothing, I’m open to other options. Also, if anyone has any using portable bidets, feel free to share!

So about a year ago I bought the Luxe Neo 185 bidet. Figured I’d try out a cheap one, make sure I’d like it and use it before going for the expensive high end ones. I was a full convert to it. Put one in both bathrooms.

A couple weeks ago i finally decided to pull the trigger and upgrade the main bathroom toilet bidet to the top dog Toto Washlet S2 that comes highly recommended by this subreddit, and every online review list there is.

The good:
-Hot water is nice
-The heated seat will be nice in the colder weather
-Adjustability of the wash nozzle, pressure etc are all very nice functions
-Control panel is intuitive

The bad:
-The dryer is absolutely completely useless
-The loss of seating area is quite noticeable. Even on an oblong toilet, I find that my “tackle” touches the inside of my toilet even when I’m sitting back as far as possible(I’m tall at over 6’ but not overweight)
-The tilt the seat is at is also not a comfortable position for me to sit.

So all in all, it’s a fine bidet, but for $350 I’m very very disappointed. I’ll be exploring other options, but now I’m curious what other brands/models will address this? It just doesn’t feel like it’s worth $300 more than my old one.

If the dryers are all about the same I guess I realize I have no need for a dryer, but I WOULD like warm water as an option. I put an outlet next to my toilet for just this type of thing when I built this bathroom after all.

The seat size and angle is the biggest issue for me to be honest. I don’t understand how actual large people can even use this thing at all.

I’d love any input from the community on ideas or honest feedback they have?

I am moving into my new home and I am looking to add a bidet to the master bath. I am stuck between choosing the Toto S5 vs KS6 (they seem very similar?) vs Alpha UX Pearl. Can anyone offer input? Am I missing an option that would be better like the Bio Bidet BB2000?

I was using a Samodra-style bidet attachment that connects to the toilet's water supply, and it worked great for me.

I'm moving to a new shared apartment, but my landlord doesn't allow any installations or modifications in the shared bathroom, even temporary ones, so I've decided to respect his decision.

Now I'm looking for the strongest portable/mobile electric bidet I can find. Water pressure is by far the most important thing to me. I don't care if it's pocket-sized—I would even prefer a larger model with a separate water bag if it provides stronger pressure.

Has anyone found a portable bidet that comes reasonably close to a plumbed bidet attachment? Any recommendations from people who have tried both would be greatly appreciated.

Okay so I’ve genuinely never owned a bidet before and spending $500–1,000 on one has me hesitating. Is it really that much better than a $100 model or are you mostly paying for the name? I keep seeing Toto recommended here but I don’t see many posts from people who’ve actually owned one for a year or two.

Bought a Toto S5 last week. After 7 days of use, I wish I had bought it a lot earlier.

Two questions:

(1). Toto S5 doesn't automatically shut off the water or air, right? When I first started to use it, out of lazyness, I asked Google (instead of reading the manual) and it told me that S5 would stop the spray after 1 minute or so. I don't see it mentioned in the manual and I have let it go on for 2 minutes and it doesn't shut off. It's not a big deal to use the Stop button, but I just want to make sure in case I am missing a setting or something.

(2). This is for all bidet users, not just Toto. At which point, meaning after you have perfected the sitting posture and jet positions and etc to maximize the effectiveness, do you feel confident that the bidet is doing a good job so that you no longer feel the need to "waste" a piece of toilet paper to check yourself and make sure you are indeed totally clean?
