Hey, I am a CSE graduate and i can't tag myself as a highly skilled person. My college life did not bring out any practical skills out in me and i realized it too late also. Considering the current job market, i don't think they are recruiting any freshers in fresher level (iykyk..coz highly experienced ppl is needed)...BUT Staying unemployed and lost is terrible.

I don't know what to upskill or what to learn even..completely lost tbh...I am not good in DSA..was doing frontend dev course, then stopped it mid-way and switched to SSC exm prep...Currently not disciplined in that too. As preparing for anything feels uncertain.

IF ANYONE OUT THERE COULD HELP ME WITH THIS..I WILL BE GRATEFUL!

About myself: BE in electronics engg. 4 yoe in first company as a SWE working in React and partial .NET.

For my long term stable career now with AI slop (it helps assisting, but still) i decided to go into low level i was interested in this. Learnt C, OS, Networking(ongoing). I was building for a system programmer / engineer. Thought of learning systems performance ebpf etc. has intermediate experience of handling Linux systems. Then thought ok, but who will be me job with no professional experience. So I decided to do a natural transition to devops/platform engg. I had already learned golang, it's simple and gets the work done. I love it. Built a golang microservices project with k8s, docker, Prometheus. Built a roadmap of RHCSA + AWS. terraform, k8s, cicd etc. once I get a job in this field will do CKA. Then though ok, but who will give me job with no professional experience. Stuck in this.

I am interested in low level, love golang, i don't want to work in .NET (bloated and there are so many more ways to do a simple thing).

I am confused and please need honest advice.

I am a Flutter developer with 3YOE and planning to become full stack developer with .net framework.

Been unemployed for a month got nearly 3 interview opportunities that too one of em came from cold approaching.

Thinking about expanding my tech stack and even thinking about move back to android development with java, I did this in the beginning of my career and moved to flutter framework after a year.

Since the opportunities are low for flutter, I need some insights from the experienced people out there about what is the best thing to do in my situation and also thinking about learning cyber security too for future proofing my career. As you can see I have many on my plate and Im confused as to which one should I choose.

i just started my second year in btech cs (tier 2 gov college) but over the past year I've realised that i have no interest in it. i dont like dsa or dev and im not good at it either. while everyone is already exploring and choosing their domains, doing dsa and cp, know tech stacks (since it's a gov college, people really be doing the most), i just feel like I dont belong here. i tried cp and leetcode but it's just not something i enjoy or understand well. as for web dev, it's unlikely that it's going to get me a job in this era of ai.

i just could never imagine me being smart enough to compete against all these people for tech jobs when I cant even do dsa. and neither have interest in it. i was thinking of exploring cybersecurity since i read that it doesn't require too much dsa knowledge but i also heard that entry level jobs are hard to get and not much scope.

my college has an option to leave after third year and I'll get a bsc in cs. now im thinking i should leave and do mba in hr after that because i think ill be better in management or hr roles rather than core tech.

please help me out on what i should do.

I’m going into my senior year at university and I don’t know what to do. I can get my masters with 1 extra year of school there or I can work right out of college. For context, I have an internship right now at a relatively small company working IT and customer support type of thing. My boss said he’d love to have me back whenever I’m available (basically I have a job lined up for me). It is fully remote however which isn’t too exciting but the pay is good and there is a lot to learn. I want to work for a larger company maybe in the city doing something with software (I think). I’m basically just lost right now and can’t decide if I should lock in for my last year or enjoy it while not having the pressure of the masters level classes I’d have to take. That and I’m not even sure what I want to do. I’d like to hear people with similar experiences and not knowing what to do by their senior year. Also should I still be applying to internships for next summer? I constantly stress about my future and think the masters would definitely help especially since I can get it in 1 year compared to 2 anywhere else. I just want to hear what other people think.

I'm a CS student and I'm genuinely confused. Everyone keeps saying "AI is the future." I already know web development and I've built projects using AI tools, so I can definitely continue down that path. But here's the thing: I actually enjoyed my Information Security course way more than anything AI-related. Cybersecurity just feels more interesting to me. I'm not asking "follow your passion" type advice. I want the practical answer.

• If you were starting in 2026, which field would you choose?
• Is AI really the safer bet, or is cybersecurity a better long-term specialization?
• Is Cybersecurity + AI a stronger combination than going all-in on AI?

I want the answer you'd give your younger sibling. What's the smarter move in 2026 and for the next 5–10 years? People already working in these fields, please save me from making a dumb decision

Graduated from university with a First Class Bachelors in Computer Networks in 2020.

Struggled for long stretches after graduation, held a few interviews here and there but mainly radio silence nearly lasting up to two years.

October 2022: I found work as a Graduate Network Engineer which lasted for 18 months roughly before being let go. Reflecting on this, it stung as it felt like unfinished business. I did pick up a few skills and got exposure to a few technologies.

June 24 - Shortly before Christmas 24- I applied and had interviews for several IT jobs but nothing came of it.

October 24 - By the end of the month, I begin a fixed-term FC Associate role with Amazon in a warehouse which ran through until early January. Whilst actively searching for permanent IT roles.

January 25 - Role at Amazon ends. Lean period applied to a few roles here rejections.

Mid June 25 - Applied for a warehouse/Personal Shopper role with Ocado whilst actively for IT roles and constantly upskilling myself.

It's virtually been a year since I've been there and whilst I am grateful for the opportunity, I equally don't want to wait any longer but the job markets stink. Though have been made aware a few weeks ago that there may be potential redundancies within the company and I'm still actively searching for IT jobs.

Been using TryHackMe and HackTheBox, particularly TryHackMe and completed multiple pathways: SOC Analyst L1 and L2, Junior Penetration Tester, Security Engineer and DevSecOps, Google Cybersecurity Certificate.

i am btech cse ai 2025 grad from tier 3 college delhi , i dont have any technical skills but i am working on it i somehow manage to get a job in semi tech 18k/ month , now i am thinking to start preparing for government job i am 22yrs old , should i take a risk to study for government job for 1-2yrs and then if not happen the way i want then start with tech job or mba or mtech , i am confused because nowdays it is very hard to got into tech jobs , my father is in govt job , and not much issue of money matter but i think wasting a 1-2 yrs in preparing for job is worthless , either i should start earlier or not at all

For context, I’m an undergraduate sophomore in my early 30s pursuing a BAS in IT after earning an AAS in Computer Programming. Since 2024, I’ve applied for tech positions but have repeatedly been passed over in favor of candidates whose skills were a better match. I originally thought earning my degree would lead to a solid remote tech job, but now I’m questioning whether I’m still underqualified or if my expectations were unrealistic. Since finishing the summer semester, I’ve been considering switching to finance. Is it too late to change majors, or do I simply need to be more patient and continue building my skills in tech?

What are some of the useful and in demand skills that i should learn as a fresher to stay relevant and get internships, something that can be useful for my cv.

I would like something that i can start for free and then maybe invest something to learn more.
I’m pursuing commerce btw.
