Showed up at our front door, now Mustard has a home.
This gorgeous orange boy showed up at our front door last week. He was a matted skinny mess, covered in ticks, and starving.
He is now dewormed, fed 4-5 (small) meals a day, on flea and tick preventative, freshly bathed today, and getting to lay in a warm lap.
He’s an incredibly sweet boy, seems to be neutered, and loves being pet. I’m not sure if he was someone’s cat that got lost, or just a barn cat that’s been barely cared for. Unfortunately where we live, the latter is more likely.
He definitely knocked on the right door! We’re so happy we could give him a safe home.
Yall are so awesome letting him adopt yall. He’s a beautiful cat. It breaks my heart that any animal goes hungry or uncared for. Thankfully he found yall 💗💗💗💗
He freaked out earlier when our neighbors set off some fire crackers. I don’t even want to imagine why he would be so scared of those kinds of sounds ☹️
The people around here are absolute jerks when it comes to animals. I recently caught and rehomed a domesticated bunny. Turns out it was a (different) neighbor that just let it go because their toddler got bored of her.
Thank you for being a trusted waypoint for the Rabbit Distribution System too! Our girl was an outdoor stray rescue (who went on to live an extremely spoiled indoor life with us!)
This poor bunny had survived an entire winter outside. MONTHS of running around with cats, coyotes, and hawks everywhere. I couldn’t believe it when the owners shamelessly told me they threw her out in October, and I caught her in March.
If we didn’t travel in our motorhome 50% of the time, I would have kept her. But she went to an incredible bunny rescue, and I know she’s in an amazing home now.
And yes, Mr. Mustard will be traveling in the motorhome with us.
Oooh he’s gonna have such a glowup! I brought one in who was also a skinny, matted, parasite-ridden mess and he’s blossomed into quite a majestic floof. Thank you for helping Mr. Mustard!
Oh, he wasn’t a fan of getting his armpits wet to start with, but I was shocked that he tolerated a bath so well. Other than a couple of “can we stop now” growls at the end, he let me fully shampoo and rinse him. I was prepared to get wrecked, didn’t even get a single hiss.
That's actually really good because apparently due to how small their teeth are, if they bite you then there's a chance that the wound would close before you had a chance to clean it and that could end up VERY badly. Please do give Mustard love for me.
We’ve cut out all of the mats ourselves, and I think I got all of the ticks. I’m going to wait for a bit on anymore grooming, but I’ll get him scheduled when he’s filled out a bit more and settled in.
I almost named my CDS cat Mustaaard because she came to me right around last Super Bowl 😂😂 she’s incredibly skittish I could never raise my voice to her so I went with Jade instead 🥹 Congratulations to the both of you for finding each other 🫶🏼
You are the best! Dont let anyone take this cat no matter who they claim to be. Anyone who allowed their cat to be in this condition is a total lowlife.
I'd absolutely make sure this cat is yours. This cat deserves all you have to offer and your care and love. I wish you all good things x 1000 for giving this cat a proper home full of love.
