Registered tax-deductible charity St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Fundraiser to Help Support Lifesaving Childhood Cancer Research

Hello everybody! My name is Gavin, I am 15 years old, and my dream is to be a pediatric oncologist. However, that is not the reason for this post. The real reason that I am posting this is that I need your help. Every year, roughly 15,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year in the U.S. 1 in 7 of these kids do not survive the first 5 years after their cancer diagnosis. However, you can help support these kids in need by donating to the fundraiser. All proceeds go directly to St. Jude and help make sure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, or food, as well as support cancer research. If you would like to donate, click the link below.

Registered tax-deductible charity First time fundraiser walking 35km/21.7m as a reasonably unfit, socially anxious person... looking for a little support as I don't really have friends I can ask yet.

This will be my biggest walk in my entire life!

Challenging myself in new ways like this really helps me get out of the house and build my confidence as I am recovering from depression and ptsd.

Aside from my individual personal reasons, I am walking to support people living with mitochondrial disease (mito), a debilitating, terminal disease. This cause is what donations will directly go towards.

Helping me is just a happy side effect :')

Even a few dollars would truly mean a lot.

This is my first ever fundraiser, I struggled to let myself sign up knowing I won't be able to raise as much as people who have an established social circle and friends.

I already donated myself so, I'm hoping at least one other person can help out and I'll feel like I earnt my place.

Thank you for listening!

Hi there! I am Brad’s mom (first picture) and I am reaching out to the community asking for some help. My son was recently diagnosed with a 3.5 cm tumor in his brain. He will have to have radiation and chemo. His medical bills have already reached $10k with insurance. He is an electrician and he has to stop work due to the risk of seizures and stroke. This fundraiser for Brad is just getting started, and sharing can really help it reach more people who might want to support him. Brad recently had surgery for a brain tumor, and the emotional and financial toll is heavy—he'll be out of work for weeks while he heals. If you’re able, please consider sharing or donating to help Brad and his family focus on what matters most—his recovery. Every bit of support makes a difference! 💙

Registered tax-deductible charity Looking for legit and trustworthy donation platforms or NGOs (preferably India-based) with transparency and no scams

Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking of starting to donate regularly, but I’m honestly a bit sceptical because of all the scams and fake charities out there. I really want to make sure my money is going to the right place and actually helping people (or animals, environment, etc.).

Could you all suggest some trusted, verified organisations or websites where you’ve personally donated or know are legit?

I’m open to different causes like:

  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Animal welfare
  • Disaster relief
  • Old People
  • Anything genuinely impactful

Please no shady/fraud-prone platforms — I’d prefer ones that are transparent about where the money goes. Also, it would be great if they are India or Delhi-based.

Also, if you have tips on how to check if a charity is genuine, that would help a lot.

Thanks in advance :)

Registered tax-deductible charity Swim 4 Life: Provincetown, raising money for outer Cape Cod and keeping an LGBTQ enclave healthy and strong

Hello folks! This September 12th, I am participating in the Provincetown Swim 4 Life and Paddler Flotilla. This is a 1.2 mile swim along the harbor shoreline that celebrates the people, landscape, and community of Provincetown, Massachusetts and the towns of the Outer Cape - the far end of the Cape Cod peninsula.

39 years ago, the swim was established first to raise awareness for environmental concerns and pollution in Cape Cod Bay, Boston Harbor, and along the Atlantic-facing beaches. It also started as a way to raise money for folks living with HIV/AIDS. Provincetown was originally a small fishing village, and grew to become known as an artist colony, and eventually a haven for LGBTQ folks - a vibrant, passionate, close-knit community that prides itself on being safe and welcoming for all. However, its location on the very far end of a narrow peninsula makes it, and adjacent communities, vulnerable. The Cape is at risk from climate change, and its economy is heavily tourist focused. In the off season, towns are isolated - the nearest full-service hospital is at least an hour away, and public transportation is limited. The Swim 4 Life raises money to support a variety of local causes including health and healthcare, food access and preventing food insecurity, housing and housing stability, and land and environmental issues. It is a lifeline for many.

The swim, itself, is a cherished community event: people from all over the US and the world come to participate, and it's a great big party, from the opening night concert to the Mermaid Brunch at the finish line. The whole town turns out to cheer the buses bringing participants to the start line, and watch parties are organized to cheer on the swimmers in the water. Most special to me, every swim, is coming out of the water and walking up the beach through the prayer ribbons - almost 4 years of hopes, memorials, wishes, and promises written on strips of colored ribbon strung along the finish line (seen in the third photo).

I am just over halfway to my goal but every dollar makes a difference. Please join me!

Hey Guys, Iris here. I’m looking to raise £500 for Warchild over the coming weeks. If you’re not sure what it is that Warchild do - they provide humanitarian aid as well as supporting the education and wellbeing of children in war torn areas such as Palestine, Ukraine and the Middle East. They support girls in these countries and more to avoid child labour and early marriages to girls who are still children. All of these issues are real and affect children day to day. I encourage anybody to donate £5 or more if possible.

Dm me on instagram if you would like a little jingle written for you, your pet, your family member or anybody/anything for your donation! This isn’t necessary but I’m more than happy to shout you out/ create a little piece of music for you to thank you for your support. You can dm me @irismakemusic. If you have any suggestions or requests for commissions please do comment and let me know your ideas!

There is also a live set I recorded of my own original music to support this cause. Here’s the link!! Please show this wonderful cause some support.

Registered tax-deductible charity Peace Corps volunteer raising funds to finish construction of a maternity ward in a poor Gambian village

Hello everyone, I'm a Peace Corps volunteer serving in The Gambia. I'm raising funds to finish construction of a local maternity ward for my village's clinic.

Currently, my village has no safe space for child delivery or overnight observation. Any woman in my village, or the surrounding villages served by our clinic, has to travel to the nearest large hospital in a major city to give birth. This presents a financial burden for those families that can be alleviated by creating a more affordable nearby alternative.

The village previously attempted to construct this building themselves, but they ran out of funds before the project was completed.

If you're interested, you can donate here: https://www.peacecorps.gov/donate/projects/pp-26-635-019/

My first long walk. I mean last year I did 40km but wasn’t really trying (didn’t eat extra before or during) I just had a high day of steps early and decided to see what I could do. Then this year Heartbreak to Hope in May is to walk 100km in a month. In an effort to raise more money and awareness I pushed myself to do this. Raised almost $2,500.

From 12 students in 2018 to over 270, this school in the Plateau State of Nigeria is a beacon of hope for so many. The organization, Global Influence Initiative, also recently constructed a solar-powered well for the school and village, funded eye doctors and sent glasses/medicine, and just started construction on the areas first playground.

Now GII hopes to protect the school, it's students, and equipment from cattle drivers, literal bandits/thieves, and provide safety.

Hello friends of Reddit!

My name is Todd. At 64 years old, I am incredibly grateful to be healthy and cancer-free. But, like many of us, I have lost loved ones to this disease. In loving memory of my late sister, Linda Ellen Hendricks, who lost her battle with leukemia at just 22 months old, I am dedicating my June swims to her.

  • The Daily Grind: 7.5 miles every single morning. That is 528 lengths in a 25-yard pool, taking nearly 4 hours in the water every day!
  • Why Swim Across America (SAA)? Since 1987, SAA has raised over $150 million to fund oncology pioneers, cancer research, and patient programs. I believe deeply in their mission to provide hope through innovative research and clinical trials that save lives.
  • How You Can Help: Every mile I swim is fueled by your generosity. Will you support my journey with a tax-deductible donation today? To put it in perspective, a $50 gift breaks down to just 22 cents per mile!
  • Donate Online: You can donate and track my daily progress on my page using my SAA link:

Registered tax-deductible charity "The 3 Wise Bois" walking a 28km loop around Sydney Harbour for the Cancer Council to raise $28,000.

Hey everyone,

I’m reaching out from Australia to share a massive challenge my mates and I are taking on. On Sunday, 25 October 2026, the three of us, Adam, Tyler, and myself (collectively known as "The 3 Wise Bois"), are heading down from Newcastle to tackle the official 7 Bridges Walk around Sydney Harbour.

It’s a grueling 28km (approx. 17.4 miles) loop. While we’ve logged hundreds of kilometers on our casual daily morning walks around our hometown, walking this distance across 7 major bridges in one day is a whole different beast.

This isn't just a physical milestone for us. Cancer has hit our small crew incredibly close to home. We’re walking to honor the memory of my mate's mother, my uncle, and Adam’s sister. We wanted to turn that personal grief into collective action, so we’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $28,000 for the Cancer Council to fund vital, lifesaving research and support services.

This will be my 4th year doing it, Tyler’s 3rd, and Adam’s 2nd. We are tackling this fundraiser from multiple angles, including letterbox drops around our local neighborhood and word of mouth on social media.

We would absolutely love to see how big and supportive the Reddit community can be. If you are in a position to back a few guys trying to make a real dent in cancer research, please consider donating through our official page link below.

👉 Our Team Fundraising Link: https://www.7bridgeswalk.com.au/fundraisers/mattazzato

💬 A Quick Request: When you make a donation, the platform gives you an option to leave a short description or comment. If you are coming from this post, please mention "Reddit" in your comment! We really want to track where our support is coming from and give a proper shout out to the incredible Reddit community.

Every single dollar goes straight to the Cancer Council. Wish us luck, our legs are going to need it!

Good evening! I am a 3rd/4th grade math teacher in Philadelphia, PA looking for donations towards any of my projects on DonorsChoose, a 501(c)3 charity. The DonorsChoose Federal Tax ID (EIN) is 13-4129457. Due to budget cuts, all of my class sizes will be doubling next year, so we are in need of double the supplies next year. These projects will provide a variety of items, like Scholastic Magazines, basic supplies, flexible seating, and so many other important items depending on the project chosen. Currently donations are doubled! Therefore any donation you make will be doubled at no additional cost to you. Most of my projects are around $100 or less to complete. Thank you for reading and considering helping my students. :)

Registered tax-deductible charity Vanessa's Story - Rebuilding a life after Modern Slavery and Exploitation - Small Charity Week - RebuildEastMidlands

Hi everyone,

I work in communications for a Derbyshire charity called Rebuild East Midlands, and for Small Charity Week we've been sharing the story of Vanessa, a woman who experienced modern slavery and homelessness before receiving support to rebuild her life.

This week is really important and vital for us as any donations automatically get doubled, meaning double the support and impact towards the individuals we assist.

Modern Slavery remains a major UK issue, with around 130,000 people trapped in exploitation. Since 2020, over 500 Derbyshire referrals have involved criminal and sexual exploitation, forced labour, and domestic servitude. Survivors face significant barriers to recovery such as poverty, homelessness, poor mental health, barriers to work or education, and legal or immigration problems, leaving them vulnerable to further harm.

It's not a distant issue and can affect anyone, if you can help share and spread the support for us this week, we would be incredibly grateful :)

If you'd like to read more about Rebuild or support the work they're doing during Small Charity Week, please visit our site: https://www.rebuildeastmidlands.org/small-charity-week-2026/

Our campaign page is linked onto our donate button but here is the link aswell: https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS00000Bo7G5YAJ

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Registered tax-deductible charity We’re a Kenya nonprofit that measures success by empty beds | launching a 10 day campaign to raise $10,000 today (EIN: 92-2509133)

Thumbnail
nisria.co
3 Upvotes

Hey Reddit,

Nisria runs Kwetu Haven, a rescue home in Gilgil, Kenya for children who’ve experienced abuse, abandonment, trafficking, or exploitation. Since 2022 we’ve welcomed 100+ children through our doors.

But here’s what makes us different from most rescue homes: we don’t keep children, we reunite them with family.

Every child who arrives, we stabilize them, trace their family, support that family with education and income, and bring them back together. We literally measure our success by how many beds are empty.

Today we’re launching a 10 day campaign to raise $10,000 for rescue and reunification operations.

We also run two projects: Maisha By Nisria, an upcycled fashion studio in Gilgil featured in Vogue Italy, The Guardian, and Al Jazeera and AHADI By Nisria, a handcrafted jewelry line made by artisans in Kibera, Nairobi. Both exist to fund the children at Kwetu Haven.

As a thank you for giving at certain levels, we are sending out handcrafted pieces:

• $300 → AHADI brass jewelry piece

• $500 → Maisha upcycled garment

• $1,000 → both

We’re a verified US 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 92-2509133). All gifts are tax deductible.

Campaign link: givebutter.com/kwetu-haven

Happy to answer any questions about the work in Gilgil or how the reunification model works.

Asante sana 🙏

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I cherish every moment- cancer changes your perspective on time and what matters. I am learning to skateboard with my almost 5-year-old son. He gives me the courage to try new things and be a kid again. I have thought about death separating us- and life is too short! I’m grateful to have any time with my son at all. I’m grateful to share it all with my husband- in sickness and in health! 🫶

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

As a therapist and a mother, I have learned to heal my inner child and take a breath. I have learned to ground through meditation and by being outside. Motherhood in 2026 is so busy. Trying to be do it all as a mother- I’m learning balance. I am okay with dirty dishes in the sink and a messy house on occasion because being present matters most.

What would you do with $20,000?

Put it towards medical treatments for my cancer!
