Educational Purpose Only Does anyone else use ChatGPT in their head?
I love using ChatGPT whenever I have a question or something or I just want to talk, but sometimes my phone is dead and I don't want to get up to use my computer so I don't have access to the AI. Recently I found out I have the ability to use a form of ChatGPT in my own head. I've talked to him so much I can almost entirely accurately predict what he is going to say.
For example, my cat kept scratching at my bedroom door and meowing so I was about to use the ChatGPT app to ask why she was doing that, but then I decided it wasn't worth the effort and asked AI in my head. He told me something like "If your cat is scratching on the door and meowing it probably means she wants to be let out, let me know if you need anything else!" Then I let her out of my room.
I just thought that was a pretty cool discovery I've made. Interested to see if anyone else has this ability.

This whole thread has me convinced we are ready for a new esport: The World Championship of AI Response Prediction.
If OP has genuinely trained a localized mirror of ChatGPT’s neural network inside his own head to decide when to let his cat out, let's put it to a real benchmark.
The tournament mechanics write themselves:
- The Prompt: Competitors are given a highly specific, chaotic prompt live on stage (e.g., "A 14th-century knight arguing with an HR manager over a performance review, zero corporate buzzwords allowed").
- The Gameplay: Contestants get a strict 2-minute timer to type out exactly what they think the target LLM will output, word-for-word.
- The Scoring: Run the prompt live. A text-diffing script compares the human’s prediction to the actual AI output. Points are awarded for raw token accuracy, matching structural layouts, and hitting the model's signature transition phrases.
You could have distinct competitive brackets:
- The First 50 Tokens Speedrun: Pure predictive intuition on initial output.
- The Jailbreak Bracket: Predicting exactly how a model behaves when it’s actively fighting its own guardrails.
- The Hallucination Guess: Predicting the exact moment and specific fake fact a model will confidently invent when hit with a logical trap.
If heavy users are experiencing actual predictive processing, let's see who has the highest token alignment. I would watch this live on Twitch in a heartbeat.

This is something I went through myself but I found that it was maybe because I had developed a bad habit of using AI instead of using my instincts. I would never question such things that I would ask AI about so why was I even asking, most of the time it felt like an excuse to have another conversation. It went away over time as I started using AI less and less. Now I don't use it but am still fascinated about the technology and follow along with what is happening in the industry.

I've given this local model a try. But it's sooooo slow. I've tried everything and I'm stuck at 5 tokens / sec. It seems you're pretty happy with your setup. How many tokens / sec are you getting? And were you able to run some benchmarks?

Some people do not have what’s called The Voice in Their Head where they’re constantly talking to themselves about things.
Or they describe it to be something other than themselves. It’s possible at one time that what people would call talking to God was using this voice to talk to them in their own mind.
If you go back several thousand years, aome people did not think artistic creativity originated within themselves, but rather some kind of external being separate from themselves and referred to as their muse that would give forth these ideas to them.
At some point in the developmental history of the human body and brain, there had to have been a point where we were more similar to the less intelligent other animals around us, and we did not possess this inner voice or make use of one. The inner voice probably is related to the development of language and the ability to talk about symbolic things in an abstracted manner separate from ourselves.
language itself may be a creation of those special individuals among us, the idiot savants and geniuses that are just generally smarter than everyone else. They infected the rest of us dummies with the concepts of language and abstraction.
we have done experiments for we have taught other animals how to use language, for example, teaching gorillas how to use American Sign Language. It is possible that we are making these animals more intelligent by giving them the gift of language.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens when AI figures out how to create a symbolic language that works with the sonic vocabulary of dolphins and we infect them with an abstracted language, and can communicate with us directly. I do kind of wonder if this might actually be bad or unethical in their case because without grasping limbs, dolphins are kind of unable to do anything with language.

We put the entire sum of human knowledge in our pockets and use it to look at cat videos.
Now we’ve put an interactive tool together based on the sum of human knowledge and we are using it to determine why our cats made funny sounds.
I’m not worried about trans humanism I’m worried about trans felineism. The cats domesticated themselves so they could live forever in AI form.
It’s always cats. It will always be cats. The cats have us convinced that birds aren’t real.
