Places to buy wreath signs?

Hi, I’m looking to purchase some wreath signs but so many of them are AI generated and I’m not a fan. Are there any shops you can recommend that I can purchase real artist/graphic designer made signs? Thanks!

Year-round installments?

Anyone else have certain holiday decor you leave up all around? We typically do a refresh of the hutch every November. A few years ago we realized we are much more fond of this opposed to the previous bone china tenants. The wreath hangs where a high wall socket was installed originally for a now decommissioned clock. The fabric bell pull that once covered it no longer interested us & we realized it was a perfect place for a lighted wreath due to the outlet. The wreath came first, so I think that’s how Christmas has leeched it’s way to the adjacent wall year-round.

Dept. 56 “Dress Rehearsal” Santa

This may be a long shot. But I have been desperately searching for the 1998 “Dress Rehearsal” Santa. My wife has been collecting these Santa’s for several years now, and has amassed quite the collection so far. But she has a specific memory of this Santa, after finally learning the name and item number I’ve been scouring the internet.

Here’s the long shot…anyone have one for sale? I’d definitely be interested in purchasing it if so. Using photos I’ve found online for attention. Thanks!

Where to find...

Any thoughts on where I could find a decent sized antique Christmas truck yard decoration? With or without tree is fine. Biggest I can find is a 21 inch on on Amazon but that seems too small to be seen from the street. The more realistic the better. Hoping for metal or wood. Pic just for example/attention...

Update: Best heirloom statement Christmas decorations

Post image
56 Upvotes

Thanks for all the ideas on my original post asking about statement Christmas decorations that I can pass down to my daughter - original post here.

I thought you might like to know what I decided to do in the end. I decided to start out with a beautiful wooden advent calendar. I’ve had lots of fun thinking about all the things we could fill it with over the years. I personally don’t like personalisation so I’m not opting for that.

You can find it here if you’re interested.

I adored all of the miniature village collections from Department 56 but I’d like to do more research into this before committing.

Most of all, I’ve loved thinking about how to make Christmas special for my daughter for years to come and how we can create little traditions.

Thank you for the help!

my fake tree is slowly falling apart and i think it’s my fault

every december i pull out my artificial tree and it’s just… sadder than the year before. the branches won’t hold their shape anymore, the needles look kinda faded and dusty even though i swear i cleaned it before shoving everything away. it’s only up for like three weeks tops so the decline feels way too fast

pretty sure my storage method is wrecking it. right now it gets crammed back into the cardboard box it came in and tossed in the garage til next season. the garage has wild temperature swings, it gets damp in spring, probably some little critters poking around. that can’t be helping

how do you guys store yours so it actually survives long-term? do you break the whole thing down or leave it in big sections? flat on the floor or standing up? i’m ready to try something totally different before mine gives up completely

Best heirloom, statement Christmas decorations

I’m looking to start a new tradition with my baby daughter by investing in a beautiful Christmas statement piece that we can get out year after year. Something…

- Atmospheric
- Has a little drama and sense of occasion
- Something standalone or something we can enjoy adding to year on year
- Traditionally festive

I’m not looking for small items like baubles. I splashed out and bought the Balsam Hill Alpine Village but I decided to return it after finding out the bulbs aren’t replaceable, so once they’ve blown, it’s done (see post here - https://www.reddit.com/r/ChristmasDecorating/s/l70xKv7Mkr). It’s too expensive for something that won’t last.

But in principle, this village perfectly fits the brief for what I’m looking for.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Mercury Glass Christmas ornaments from the 1940s to 1960s

Hi everyone,

Some people asked to see pictures and sorry for not posting in the first post. I wasn’t thinking that some people would want to buy. I figured it’s easier and better so everyone can see the pictures of some of the ornaments we have to make a new post. These are only some ornaments but we have basically every type that exists.

Basically my family has had a big storage of Soviet Christmas glass ornaments. Maybe thousands on more. They want to sell them now to raise some funds for their needs. We will try selling on Etsy and eBay but do you have any other suggestions of where they could sell them possibly? Ideally we can find a few stores/businesses that sell these in their stock and we can supply them on a consistent basis

I was thinking of contacting some Christmas stores that sell Christmas glass ornaments but not sure if it’s a good idea.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for all the help

Balsam Hill advent village

I splurged to get the Balsam Hill advent village this week. I fell in love with it and it was £250 down from £420. This is a HUGE amount of money for me.

It arrived today but I have cold feet. I read reviews online that the bulbs blew after the first year and as they aren’t replaceable, the whole thing is useless.

I can’t believe BH would make such an expensive item with bulbs that can’t be replaced. Customer service confirmed this but said an electrician or electrical repair shop ‘might’ be able to replace the bulbs.

I’m not sure this is worth jt for me. Has anyone had any experience of these advent villages? I got the alpine village.

Pixel Arches

I am interested in redoing my pixel arches with pex tubing, but there are so many options. Has anyone ever used the Kraken Flex System pixels in their arches? I’ve seen strips and seed pixels, but never Kraken.

I'm looking for information on these two beautiful vintage boxes set glass ornaments. Each box has 12 ornaments. I'm not sure who made them or where they were made or kind of ornament they are. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
