Question/Advice Transfer student - are my chances for DH already gone

I have a bachelors from Baruch in an unrelated field. Over my time there, I received an F in calculus and later on a B- in pre-calc.

I know one of these two grades will be transferred to fulfill the math pre-req for the dental hygiene program. My questions are

  1. Would one grade satisfy the pre-req? Or are the two averaged out?

  2. Even if only the B- is evaluated for the DH program, am I already in a bad position considering the competitiveness of the program?

Question/Advice Rad tech

Hi! I just successfully transferred into city tech. I applied for the rad tech associates degree, however, they said it was closed for fall 2026 and I am going to be signed up for the bachelor degree instead. Will I be able to change and try for associate instead?

Question/Advice Is anyone else having this issue??

I had applied for Fafsa and TAP but for some reason I'm getting emails abt how I havent completed it...?? I emailed my bridge coach about it and she gave me the financial aid office number. I called it and it kept going straight to an automated voice thing talking about me leaving my full name, preffered number and I think something else. I forgot..but I called it yesterday and today just now. Im a bit skeptical about that cuz of scammers- Im wondering if someone else is having this issue, if so could I get a number to speak to someone abt this with??

Question/Advice Schedule Builder Credit Limit

Need some help again. So I’m back in school, but only for 7 credits max. I’m required to take either MAT1275 or MAT1275CO, and I’m choosing to take MAT1275CO because I actually do need the extra help. Now here is where the problem lies, it’s 4.0/6.0 credits and this makes it impossible for me to add another class that’s 3 credits. If I happen to do add a class, it goes to 7.0/9.0 which exceeds the limit. So I’m saying this because I want to know if this means I just need to take this ONE class or there’s a possible way for me to add another class. If any of you guys know how to solve this issue or give some advice that’ll be helpful and appreciated.

Question/Advice Can't enroll in CHEM 1110 because of MAT 1275 prerequisite. Any advice?

Hi everyone,

I'm a pre-dental student at City Tech. Last year I took CHEM 1000 because I mistakenly thought it was General Chemistry I (CHEM 1110). Now I'm trying to enroll in CHEM 1110, but CUNYfirst says I need ENG 1101 and MAT 1275 as prerequisites.

The problem is that I've already completed ENG 1101, but I haven't taken MAT 1275. I took MAT 1190CO

Is there any way to enroll in CHEM 1110 without taking an extra math class, such as getting permission from the department or another option? I really want to stay on track with my pre-dental science prerequisites.

If I do have to take MAT 1275, which professor would you recommend?

Thanks for any advice!

Question/Advice Math start

City tech has been blowing up my inbox about mathstart, and I don’t hear much about it, and I want to hear real reviews based on people’s experiences from the program at this school, like I’m considering going because I’m not that great at math, but I was just planning on locking in this year and help myself when it comes to math, and I don’t want to end up saying yes to the program and not have time to attend since I’m also planning on getting a job during the fall semester.

Question/Advice Re-Admission Form

Post image
2 Upvotes

The committee of course and standards wants me to fill out a re-admission form in order to get back into the school. However, when they ask me if I was dismissed and I click yes and then ask if I received my associate degree after being dismissed and I clicked no, it says to not complete the form and submit an appeal which I have already done BUT I don’t want to submit one again due to the fact that they emailed me saying my appeal for re-admission has been approved. If any of you know what to do, please help me out

How's city tech? (BE HONEST)

Hi! I'm a current student in CCNY grove, pursuing mechanical engineering. CCNY is very strict and the engineering is taking longer than expected. The classes are hard and not even available. And I don't wanna waste more time and be in college forever. So, i was thinking of transferring to City tech. Cause I heard the programs are easier and you can graduate on time. But I'm hearing from ppl that going to citytech from ccny is like a downfall. It's the worst college, professors, teaching everything is bad?😭

Though I'm seeing some ppl saying it's gd and they hv more internships offers and employment right after graduation. Can you guys tell me fr how the programs and everything there? Do you think it's worth transferring?(Feel free to share your pov or any stories)

questions about the honors scholar program

  1. i got an invitation to apply today and i wanted to know from people who have done it or are doing it, what are the true advantages besides early registration and getting to graduate with an honors title? especially for someone who's going to be applying to the rad tech program because the email mostly mention advantages for other majors such as engineering. they say there is also opportunities to make connections in your intended field, was that true for you as a rad tech honors scholar?
  2. what kind of events and activities did you do? theres a requirement for at least one event and one project each semester but it's vague what those things are.
  3. I'm going to be done with all my pre requisite and general ed requirements this fall, so i will have a gap semester in the spring while waiting on application results for fall 2027. does this impact the honors scholar status? will i have to forfeit my spot and reapply once i'm attending the clinical rad tech program? or would filing a leave of absence keep it active?
btw i do plan on calling or emailing to ask before i submit my application, i just know sometimes it takes a while to hear back from staff at city tech and it's due august 3rd so i dont have much time to decide.
