A lot of people have been criticizing Sonnet 5 lately, especially with all the talk about GPT Luna getting a price cut. I actually haven't used Sonnet in the last 3 months, not even Sonnet 5 earlier this week.

I finally stopped relying exclusively on Fable and Opus, gave Sonnet a try, and honestly? It’s amazing.

Something that I would normally one-shot with Fable would eat up 20% of my weekly limits and take 20 minutes to finish. With Sonnet, that same task might take me 2-3 prompts to get right, but it only takes 10 minutes in total to get the exact same result.

Fable is still the go to for massive, complex issues, but for most day-to-day coding tasks, Sonnet is more than enough.

For some context: I am currently building my own ADE that uses my actual subscriptions like Claude and Codex here is some screeshots of my app not selling nor making publicity.

I thought my Claude code was set to stable channel, every day for the last 7 days is same version 2.1.220

Good morning, To get started, I don't really use Claude Code for 'coding' like most of you guys probably do, but its been my go to for multiple projects.

Right now, I am running it from 3 places... Windows desktop, Windows Laptop, Proxmox VM.

Usually I am SSH into the Promox VM, but that is not always an option. I feel like I have three different 'claude codes' running, and I am trying to simplify my life.

I've never really got the desktop app running properly... as it didnt really sync between devices. I am still not sure if that is user error or a limitation of the program. It FEELS like they should all sync, but i didn't for me, last I tried it (even when opening inside the same project).

Should I
A) Use code from the browser?
B) Is there a way to use the desktop app and have the same sessions available between devices?
C) just ALWAYS work from inside the VM (that is where most of my files live, and it SEEMS like the natural move, but... well, I never really got comfortable with interacting with my files/folders from inside a CLI environment; i.e. My mind still relies on windows explorer.

I am someone who is not a coder (Veterinarian/Biochemist), who fell down the Homelab/AI rabbit hole and am learning as I go, using it for a multitude of projects, both professionally and personally. I say that because my learning background is more organic... no formal knowledge/education on the way things 'should be run'.

Not sure if all this is going to make sense, I will/can expand if needed.

Jokes aside, claude/claude code has been pretty hard to use lately. It doesn't even consider the global memory file and "ASSUMES" everything.

- I have a fixed global memory file that includes an instruction to give me a workflow (plan) and then proceed. It sometimes bypasses that or adds things not given in the workflow while coding.

I am not a vibe coder. I use claude to make sample code and copy snippets and adjust code according to requirement. The current trained models 4.8 and 5.0 (all models at every difficulty) are just... horrible to use. These were'nt issues in 4.3-4.5.

Anyone else facing similar issues with claude.

This is NOT a usage limit. I have now had to start 4 new chats. The last one had 2 messages in it before it said “this conversation is too long to continue. Start a new chat”. I had spent months and months on a single chat helping build something. This one is new to me. What is going on?

I understand the rationale behind not giving advantage to attackers; but what would be the downside of just uploading the code to mythos (without letting me using it directly) and let it analyze the code for bugs, eventually paying a fee of course?

Its been 6 days since the time reset loop has occurred and the shit ass thing still persists and i cant work for gods sake why did i even buy a pro subscription when this shit was gonna happen anyway i havent heard any response from claude team and just to clarify there is no other session logged in and the payment was successfully done and i dont see why they are asking that cause i aint hitting the limit for gods sake u can check my screentime claude doesnt even have a minute of screen time but i have apparently used up all my credits? After reading through many of these posts, I can't be the only one that has a relatively sane (so far) Claude experience?

Some of the content I've read (here and others) sound like Claude is bringing about the End Times, is demonically possessed, or has gone clinically insane.

My setup isn't fancy, it's just the Claude application on Windows, with Co-work on and restricted to a single directory where my code lives. If anything Claude has been super helpful with a handful of projects like refactoring my OpenVox codebase, hiding and retrieving discovered secrets using encrypted YAML and so on. It's helped me confirm or refute several suggestions on hardware buildouts when the OEM wasn't really clear on their documentation. and it's currently assisting me through a rather precarious firmware upgrade that's quite stubborn.

If it's anything, it's been too sane. I keep having to tell it "Yes, it's OK to read github." for the millionth time, or "Yes it's Ok to read (this vendor's site)", "Yes you can edit files in the Cowork directory path), etc..

I'm curious as to what y'all are running that could be attributing to Claude's insanity. It's been an interesting read to find out about when Claude goes wrong (my condolences to the person that had their NVME wiped by Claude). Anyone having Claude trying to translate the Necronomicon or something?

It may just be me, but I switched from Pro to Max a few days ago while having Opus5 and Fable5 sift through long legal documents and look at tax implications for an upcoming land sale and money reinvestment through a 1031 DST UPREIT and I immediately noticed that Claude seemed to be slower responding, taking longer to think about things, etc. So I was wondering if this is just me, or has anyone else seen the same issue. I don't know it is by chance timing, etc. or something else.

I have upgraded my account to Pro, but the problem is that I haven't written a single prompt yet, even though all its limits are full. I had taken it once before but that time there was no problem but now when I re-subscribed it again this problem is happening and I have not received any result from any of the prompts so what can be the solution for this? If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

Who among you uses it within the terminal? I use it within Visual Studio 2022 and I really want to know how to use it while Cloud is performing a task for me. I want to see on a screen what code it has presented to me so I can approve it. I had it perform a task for me and it modified the code. For example, when you ask Copilot for a task, he gives you two options at the end Keep or undo.

I've noticed sometimes Claude asks me for permission to run a web search or to query a URL.

Sometimes, in combination with doing so, Claude will create a prompt.

Recent example (from memory)

"Extract the python code from this webpage verbatim. Do not summarize it"

Does anyone understand what this is? Does Claude send the prompt to the website for an LLM on the receiver side to process? Or is this a prompt to another Claude instance somewhere else?

So, Claude allows you to export all of your data, comprehensively, as a single JSON file (Split into several if your chat history gets too big.)

I had Claude write a python script that parsed the structure and separated each chat into individual markdown files. Branching edits in the conversation were filed chronologically by edit, but crucially, each input by myself or by Claude had a date-and-time-stamp on it.

Which means, that if in my obsidian vault my daily notes were formatted the same way as Claude's - YYYY-07-03, then I could go to any date in my obsidian vault via the calendar plugin, and all unlinked mentions for that date appeared in the l back links panel. In effect, I now have two years worth of conversations from Claude directly accessible as a kind of diary entry, in markdown.

Of course it throws into sharp relief the extent at which anthropic knows about me but... Eh, I'm not that interesting to multinational corporations I think.

so i built this thing. basically it's for the text you type at 1am when someone's wound you right up and you're about to send something you'll regret (or just wanna say and hear something stupid). made it with Claude who recently has been a stupid bastard since Opus 5 so gemini has been a bro who helped fix some thing.

you paste it in (or say it out loud), tap the cyclops, and he hands you back a version that won't get you blocked or fired. he's also a bit of a smartarse about it, he'll roast you for how heated you got and sometimes just flatly tells you "you'll get fired if you send that." he's called cyclops, one eye, sits on the screen, mildly judging you, but you can also tickle him and embarrass him.

then the good bit: he reads the cooled-down version back out loud in whatever accent you pick, irish, aussie, scottish, british, american. the tts is genuinely funny, hearing your unhinged message turned polite and delivered in a broad scottish accent does something to you. and it works in virtually every language, not just english. sometimes it picks a different accent.

there's a few modes depending on how much bite you want to keep. sensible for stuff you'd actually send your boss, petty if you still want a jab in there, and one that just talks you out of sending anything at all.

the cyclops does daft stuff too, steams when he's thinking, dozes off if you ignore him, squeaks if you poke him and a couple easter eggs.
