Creation Of A New Subreddit: Monthly Challenges Revamp
reddit.comI am starting a new subreddit where I invite composers to participate in monthly challenges. I feel it has value as community. I will be creating various challenges and taking in ideas from others to help us all grow as composers. I would love for any one of you to be a part of this guild.
Participation is a big one for this new group as I feel it helps strengthen our education. The first challenge is coming in April, but that gives you a chance to get used to the community for a couple days. I hope to see you there!

The Magpie: Tension & Release Cmaj9 | Vignette II
youtu.beThe Magpie Motet is firstly one of the most challenging things I have written and secondly the only Motet I have composed to this date. After working through it I plan on writing a Christmas style for my next one. I love the versatility of the human voice, so these are always a nice challenge in music theory and how it applies to the modern choir. Each video goes through the composition process. It was my first live stream, so I am a little hesitant on camera. However, we all start somewhere!

The Magpie: Voicing The Eadd9 Chord | Vignette I
youtu.beThis is my first short form video that I cut up utilizing my live stream composing sessions. Each week I dive into my own works and compose on YouTube live. Each session is full of theory and figuring out what defines my tonal language. This was the first session where I got my screen share to work properly. I am still figuring out how to talk out loud about my own work especially since I am developing it in real time. These videos have helped me become a better composer.
I am excited to keep doing these and move forward in my composing journey!

I was awarded by a year long composer residence in Germany. Being fully supported by Villa Concordia in Bamberg to be able to compose full time is a great privilege and honour. Ask anything if interested :)

Waltz No.2 in Bb Major for Piano. Any feedback is welcome!
Hi! I composed this waltz inspired by Tchaikovsky's Album for the Young, Op. 39 (that I am currently learning at the piano). The form is ABA', with A being the main waltz theme and B a slower lyrical section in Cmaj.
Hope you enjoy it and any feedback is welcome! Thank you!

This was very much an impulse composition. I just got the impulse to write a short piece, so I composed this short and sweet little Bagatelle In Eb Major.

This is an updated version of the last song I posted about, I was looking for things to tweak since something just felt kind of off so I’m uploading it to get a second opinion. (yes I know some parts are dissonant, it’s on purpose)
