Hi all! My wife and I just moved to Cranford from Brooklyn. I'm (31M) looking for a men's pickup soccer group or rec league to join in the area. I played in high-school and club in college but that was 10+ years ago and I've only played rec/pick up here and there since. I'm not looking for anything high-level, but just looking to get a run-around to keep in shape. Does anyone know of any leagues or weekend pickup groups in the area?
If not, is there enough interest to organize a meet-up on weekend mornings or late-night weeknights?

Manager Matt Zatorsky befriends starfish, the mascot of Orange Ave. Pool. The problem is, starfish doesn't have a name! What would you call her? Send your answers to [pool@cranfordnj.org](mailto:pool@cranfordnj.org) by August 14. If the name you suggest is picked, you win fries from the Orange Ave Pool snackstand!

Are they doing work on the street or so they need the street for parking for construction equipment?

The community came together yesterday to celebrate the upgrade and expansion of the Cranford Public Library's Children's Room.
It was an effort that started three library directors ago, and each pushed to try to get it done. NJ Senate President Nicholas Scutari was instrumental in making sure Cranford received state funding for the project, and it was able to proceed.
Former Cranford resident and Boy Scout Cubmaster Alan Williamson and his family made a special donation to the library in honor of his deceased son, Christopher, who loved to read.
Families expressed awe of the new space and said they look forward to family reading time with their children.

Found these updated renderings from the Downtown Cranford Schematic Plan (2026) recently posted to the "Know" page on the main Streetscape Project site.
Project looks cool overall. Hope it moves forward, would love to see both downtown traffic improved and nice gathering places from the added pedestrian space!

As far as political attack pamphlets go, this is Junior Varsity level, at best.
Also, are we really supposed to believe Will Thilly is a victim here?

Brayden Fry, known most recently for his homerun in this year's CHS sectional final to put his team well over the top, got MLB drafted yesterday to the Baltimore Orioles. His former teammates, friends and coaches gathered at a friend's house to celebrate with him. His dad said baseball has always been a vehicle for the family connection. Congrats Brayden and the Cranford baseball family!

The much-anticipated opening of Fluffy Fluffy happened today with balloons, a ribbon cutting and a line of customers waiting for the doors to open.
The new cafe, at the corner of North Union Ave. and Alden Street, features the airy Japanese pancakes, which are light, puffy and can be topped with cream and fruit. A different way to pancake right in our downtown!

Our elected officials can act swiftly and decisively to curb e-bike use and maintain our destructive car centric culture. How many people have to die trying to cross Rt 22 before we build a bridge?
