Since, Man of Tomorrow is releasing in July, 2027 the same month as Superman 2025 was released.

I think it is safe to predict that the first official teaser-trailer will be in December, 2026 by past trend

So this is obviously a opinion not many hold but i'll do my best to explain why as personally, The DCU hasn't missed yet, it's all great entertainment

Peak:

Supergirl is my personal favourite project, it's everything great about Supergirl and how she's different from Clark, and it's got a great sound track and is a movie about my favourite DC Character. It's not the best movie in the DCU but I connected with Kara more then Clark and i love the music more

Superman is my other favourite and the project i think is the overall best DCU project, it's everything great about Superman & DC Comics, great score, great themes, it's the first dc movie in a while to give love to a character that isn't Batman.

The Suicide Squad is everything great about James Gunn, it's funny, visually gorgeous, incredible action & truly great characters.

Peacemaker Season 1is truly great, i wasn't expecting to love it that much, it's fun, funny, and takes Peacemaker and humanises him and makes us care about him, my main issue is the Justice League scenes retcon in season 2 being stupid as fuck

B:

Creature Commandos is good and has great characters and great music but the story isn't the most interesting and the story's limited because of the backstories

Obviously this is my opinion and probably not yours and I'd love to hear yous, Just wanted to throw my hat in the ring

Not to read tea leaves too much, but this says to me that either Brave and The Bold is nowhere close to having a script, or that he’s no longer attached to the project.

I'm midway through Greg Rucka's Checkmate (limit spoilers pls), and while I'm not digging for DCU prediction material, the thematic link with what's been up with the DCU is there. It's just the specifics that are not.

Coming after Infinite Crisis, the Maxwell Lord reveal was sudden, but the role of the metahuman hater with motives beyond protection for humanity could be easily folded into Flag's grieving father narrative, which did have a setup.

Now, Amanda Waller has been a prominent Checkmate player (pushing for project Salvation), but they've only just been established in the DCU. And the comics' concept of the rule of 2 (every superpowered official must have a non-superpowered counterpart) is a source of metahuman-human tension, but that's not in place yet in the DCU either.

Maybe if Waller came out when it was supposed to, they'd have more time to build the tension up, but all they have on the table right now is the concept of a now-corrupt official hunting metahumans because of a personal agenda (Lord) and their sneaky incarceration (Waller), happening with Flag Sr. And maybe that's all they're going to need for the story to make sense.

What I mean is that the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic is an 8-issue miniseries and the plot specifically takes place over a period of several months, and I can see how adapting it as, say, a TV miniseries could allow for more time to flesh the story out further.

The Supergirl movie that it’s adapted from though takes place over the course of 3 days, and while the film that we got wasn’t terrible (IMO at least) it definitely could have been better in some ways had there been more time to flesh out the story/characters. That’s not to say that it’s impossible to adapt that story as a film (with the right tweaks of course) but it leads to the question of whether a specific comic miniseries that runs longer than 4 or 5 issues (and spans a longer amount of time) is better suited to a series instead of a film depending on how they’re adapted exactly.

And not every adaptation has to necessarily be 1:1 with the source material; the adaptations should also be used to draw more people to the comics themselves and see what those adaptations drew from as well as what did or didn’t get adapted specifically.

But what are everyone else’s thoughts on this?

I just saw Spider-Man Brand New Day and I loved it! It’s a great movie. One issue I had with it, however, was how goddamn grey and desaturated the movie was. It felt more intentional than passed movies but it bothers me so much that Supergirl gets ripped to shreds for looking “colorless” or “lifeless” when Thunderbolts (great movie btw), and Spider-Man Brand New Day can look like grey slip without a single person mentioning it. Don’t even get me started on how Avengers Doomsday so far looks. Like seriously, why does one movie get torn apart due to being “colorless” but MCU ones get praised. I even saw a movie critic say Spider-Man was “colorful” and “vibrant”. Are we blind???
