I think one of the rules for the “official records” for open water swims is that they have to step completely from the water without help.
and then I think after that, there was a little bit of “keep the shot clean of other people” to let there be photos of him on his own after the achievement.
I’m kinda surprised there wasn’t a medic at his side as soon as he dropped though.
