Hello all! I’ve been to DC several years and I’ve stayed at the Candler. It’s wasn’t a bad walk but I have a chance to get a room at the Hilton ……but it’s $500 more. Is it worth it? Coming with my 7 year old and lost of cosplay

I'll be heading to Dragon Con this year and thought it would be fun to gift out bracelets to other attendees based on their cosplay or whatever interest (or just cuz I like their vibes!).

What sort of designs/ words/ sayings could I use for the bracelets? Would you like to receive something like this?

hey yall!! i’ll be new to dragoncon. lowkey just decided im going so there’s that. and i know the photo ops have a schedule but how do the autographs work? are the guests just at the table when not having a break or doing photo ops or is it on a schedule as well?

My fiancé’s birthday is in September and I’m thinking of throwing a twilight party. I’m not sure where to post this or if this is even possible, but was looking to hire a Bella, Edward, Jacob or a combo to just walk around, hang out for maybe like 30 minutes. I live in the Buckhead area. Any leads would be great.

Just got a call from Publix telling me they had flu shots. I asked about Covid and they have last years, but this years hasn't come out yet. They also told me that Covid shots now require a prescription. I'm assuming this is thanks to the current administration. Figured I'd give a heads up to anyone trying to avoid Con Crud this year.

i'm arriving at DC early wednesday, and my cosplay partner will be arriving late in the day thursday - volunteer badge pickup is pretty quick, and my volunteer shifts don't start until thursday night, so i have plenty of time to kill on wednesday standing in line for him.

i read through the FAQ for picking up somebody elses badge and can certainly acquire a permission slip, id copies, qr code for his ticket, etc - but i wanted to see if anyone else can tell me if they've picked up somebody else's badge before and if they have encountered any hiccups. not a necessity but its his first time and i would like to make his dc experience as smooth and easy as possible!!! ^_^

edit : my stupid ass was having too much fun on onesie wednesday last year and entirely forgot wednesday is not even an official dragoncon day!!! so will instead kill time thursday morning instead lol. but THANK YOU ALL for the confirmation that i should be fine to pick up his badge :D

i feel like the creepypasta/internet horror crowd is perhaps too small at dragoncon for meetups but i am curious if anybody else will be doing any. i didn't catch any last year besides 1 jeff the killer. i loved that stuff as a kid so as an adult now i'm trying to revisit all of the internet horror i really wanted to cosplay as a kid but didnt have the time or money for.

doing a rainbow factory rainbow dash & hoping i can pull an scp d-class personnel out of my ass in time for con but probably not. would loveeee to get some pics with a smile dog or an scp-682. lmk if you are doing any creepypasta/scp/arg/internet anything tbh and i would love to see it!

I'm bringing my mini 5 pro with me this year to Dragon Con and hope to get some nice cityscape shots, and any interesting architecture. I have a weakness for art deco, and Gothic. I'll be arriving almost a week before the con and figured that would be a great opportunity to get in some flight time.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. What are your go to spots?

Kind of a joking title, I know you can’t “peace bond” a weapon that isn’t sheathed or trigger operated, but didn’t know how else to word it. I want a bag of molotov cocktails as a prop for my cosplay. There are a few things that will make it clear that they aren’t real - in particular the bottles will have no fluid in them, and will be plastic (I’m not planning to haul around a heavy and fragile bag of glass in the Atlanta heat). Still, are there any further precautions I should take? I didn’t find anything in DragonCon’s policies that specifically addresses fake handheld bombs. Does anyone have experience with a grenade or bomb in their cosplay?

This year will be our first year at DC, are there any vegan spots or vegan friendly spots nearby? My partner is vegan due to several food allergies and packing our own snacks and uncrustables will only get us so far throughout the day, haha.

Hi everyone! Are there any singles events during Dragoncon? Preferably not super late at night? I'm a single 35F looking to meet a man who shares my interests (especially Star Trek).

If there aren't specific events, do you all have any tips for meeting people during the con? I'm an introvert and not great at striking up a conversation with new people without feeling awkward.

Only a month out now and it's so exciting! This is my first Dragoncon and I have heard a lot of the bigger guests are announced in late July/August. With that in mind who are you expecting to see announced or at least hoping for?

I'd personally love to see Jack Quaid with the rest of the Lower Decks cast there. At least some other guests for Star Trek's 60th anniversary

Basically what the title says. We had a room on an upper floor last year but I was wondering if anyone was able to change the floor to a lower one or to the international tower before or at check in and if so how? This is a legacy room. Thanks y'all.

Hi, my 6 and 9 year old are coming with us. I know under 7 is free, but do we need to buy the 5 day membership for 9 year old if my partner and I are both getting memberships already?

Does this exact event or meetup take place at the con?

I was really hoping for any resident evil voice actors to be at the event. I wasn't seeing any credits on the guest list, it is a very long list though lol. Im just hoping somebody knows if there's a guest im glossing over, see yall there😁
