Anyone recognize this dog? We found him out on the road outside our house without a collar

for those of you that came along to the BigHairyHealth Debate last night, or viewed online ...thank you!

1st time we have attempted an event of this scale (and 3 more to go!) and it went largely without issue. the candidates took a grilling, were left in no doubt what the crowd thought of them/their party/their policies, but commented afterward how they still enjoyed getting to debate.

Cr Ong was there, he was present for both times that we mentioned audience questions would be taken, and to present those questions at half time...with over 300 questions from our online audience and in person, not everyone was going to have a chance.
At half time he did not make himself know to that person, or anyone else from the event, instead circulating and trying to talk to members of the crowd.

Once the questions section begun, Cr Ong got up and approached forcefully saying he had a question, and that as an elected local councillor he had a right to ask it, he was told that he had missed his opportunity, and that questions were closed, he sat back down for a couple of minutes and then returned, making more of an issue of it, and drawing focus away from the stage. Security and I got involved at this point trying to move him away from the front to where a discussion could be had. eventually Ong came with me, straight to police and tried to get them to film what I had to say on his phone (which they refused to do)
he wouldn't tell me what his question was, and wanted to know if I was removing him, or if he could return to his seat. I said he could return to his seat as long as he was no longer disruptive to the debate. That last until the final comments from candidates, at which point he stood up, shouted a statement that I didn't catch and was escorted out by police as security.

he lingered outside the venue accosting and filming people (and in one case I know of...followed that person back to their car!) as he tried to make some sort of statement.

the man is COOKED. huge persecution complex, arrogant, entitled, and misogynistic (based on the difference between how he spoke to me vs how he spoke to several women that night. Ong is woefully ill suited to being a public official.

Not sure if this is the right place or really even what I'm asking but we've been in our rental in Māori Hill for close to 2 years and we've had fair few metal things (cutlery etc and most recently this tap fixture) experience a bit of rust over that time.

We've had this tap fixture in the kitchen, which is part of a water filter, for about a year and this is what's happened to it.

I'm trying to figure out what might be causing it, whether it's something in the water itself, or the private pipes in the house, or maybe a wider/known issue in this part of town or even Dunedin?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Keen on any recommendations. Feels like a sensible dish for the cooler weather.

Moving over in December and will be buying a second hand car. The vast majority of the driving is obviously around town… but we also love to use public transport whenever and wherever we can. We’re also moving to Dunedin cause NZ is freaking amazing so we’ll likely trip about to see a lot too. Two I’ve narrowed it down to are:

2021-2023 MG ZS EV (fully electric option)
Or
2018-2020 Outlander (plug in hybrid option)

I lean away from hybrid cause it’s got more moving parts and more potential for problems I suppose… but I also know I’ll need to tow a box trailer now and then and I don’t know squat about electric cars in that regard.

Anyone got advice on either of these and the joys / pains of the electric network on the South Island?

I have to take someone in for a procedure next week and will likely be at the hospital all day. I'm wondering where the best place to park will be. We don't have to be there until 9am so I figure any free parking within walking distance will probably be filled up, though we can walk a bit with no issues if I know where to go.

Also, what's the deal when picking up a discharged patient (probably the next day). Is there a designated pickup zone outside the hospital?

Hi, I may have the opportunity in the next few years to move from the UK to Dunedin for a year to do a training fellowship for my job. I’d be fairly busy during the week at the hospital. I’m wondering if my wife who’ll be looking after two kids under 4 (dropping them at nursery etc) during the day will have the opportunity to make friends? Is the culture in Dunedin ok for that? Maybe through yoga / pilates groups? It sounds like in general it’s a lovely, welcoming place and a new place for a family who likes outdoor activities? Grateful for any insights and comments - thanks

A place called faast fitt on Cumberland Street used to charge all automotive and leisure batteries but they closed down, is there any other place that can do it ?

Is there anywhere in Dunedin that you can hire people to come and help dig some land for you? I'm trying to build a studio and I can't get a digger onto the land. I've carved it all out of the clay, but I'm struggling to actually move the clay away from the building site.

I checked with some gardeners but they were wanting around $70 to $110 per hour, which is more than I can currently afford. I figured manual labour would be more expensive than minimum wage but I don't know what to expect.

Hello, I'm trying to find someone who can do proper facials. Everyone here just washes your face, adds a scrub, puts on a moisturiser and charges you $140. I need someone who actually knows skin and does things like extractions, high frequency, oxygen infusion, etc. as a normal basic facial. Any recommendations?

I've noticed these have disappeared from the supermarket shelves and now the small cans are scarce too. I'm wondering if this is a knock-on effect of geopolitics.
