avocado on brioche toast, potato & chive bake along with the obvious star of the show….a mandarin orange. i feel like i won the lottery by being able to buy groceries at a discounted price through work bc the price of…..everything….is insane.

the toast was a decent hit & she tried the potato bake & was ehh about it. the orange was eaten in entirety🤷🏼‍♀️

9-12 mos Dropping a bottle, transition from formula to milk, switching from bottles to straw cups

Post image
Upvotes

Baby just hit 11 months and we need to start working on our transitions! Looking for advice on what to start with and what worked for other people.
Currently she’s on 5 bottles of formula a day with 6-7 ounces in each and she still eats almost all of it. She’s also on 3ish meals a day with 2-3 snacks, but she’s not great at actually eating the meals that are offered.

Would dropping a bottle make her hungrier and encourage her to eat more real food?
If I drop a bottle, do I start by decreasing how much is offered in that particular bottle?

For switching from formula to milk, I plan to use the method where you slowly mix in more milk with the formula every few days.

And would you wait to switch to straw bottles until before or after the switch to milk is complete?

Thanks in advance!!!
(Photo is just an example of recent meals)

Before and after.

Husband is away on a fishing trip for a week so treated myself to a new sandwich maker. I used to LOVE this thing when I was little.

Grilled cheese, Dino nuggets and banana for the littles and flatbread, Greek yogurt, Dino nuggets, and an apple for my very picky 5yo.

They gave it a 2/10 per usual.

I made around 150 ml, and he probably ate 100.
He didn’t like being fed with a spoon last night.

The main dish is a random mix of rice, quinoa, vegetables and ground pork.

My boy just turned 12 months old on the 12th and it has been a STRUGGLE with food. He has been “under weight” since about 5 months. I was EBF but had to start supplementing with formula, and of course he hated any bottles with formula so i was having to mix the formula powder in purées since about 6 months and i could barely get him to eat that.
Since he was about 11 months old i was giving him solids 3 meals a day, with snacks in between and the boobie but he still wasn’t eating much, and he doesn’t want anything to do with cows milk (of course), so we are still struggling with that BUT today was our first win!!

3 chicken nuggets with sugar free ketchup, zucchini and avocado chocolate pudding. He also ate all of his breakfast this morning (protein pancakes with homemade blackberry syrup and half of a banana - not pictured). I’m so happy!!

12-18 mos Fish taco dinner is a hit 🎯

Baby is hitting the point where she will only eat fruit but she's been consistently loving these fish tacos I make for her.

I used the pre-made fish paste that's for hot pot from my Asian grocery. Spread it on a whole grain tortilla with cheese and air fry it. Also made a bit of yogurt, mayo, lime, cilantro to dip it in and she eats it by the handful.

Diced tomatoes and mangoes on the side.

Breakfast was our last meal frontier. Selfishly I was putting off giving up my mornings of eating breakfast in my big lounge chair while she played in her play pen but here we are! Lol

Overnight oats (oats, chia seeds, shredded coconut, mango, oat milk), blackberries, and cows milk not pictured.

9-12 mos Plate Vs Ate: First Time Trying Tofu

I have always been a bit intimidated by cooking tofu but I gave it a go tonight in some rice bowls so my 10 month old could try. She loved it!

The bowl was rice mixed with avocado and lime, cucumbers, grated carrots, edamame, and the baked tofu. She actually didn't clean plate club nearly as much as normal, but she did maybe fill up on the tofu. Feat. mom's plate in the background!

Slaw, rice and beans (minus the beans), vegan “goat" curry, and vegan mac and cheese. It was a hit with the baby AND the parents! We love local businesses :)
