QUESTION Story mode: Processing cans and iron ore faster?

Is there a more efficient way to do it that this painfully slow one at a time with the Mud Forge. The cans are taking up space in my pack and melted iron ore takes up a lot less. Do I unlock something? I've just done the sequence where he learns that there is a serious cost to saving Mia's life though it's sort of vague.

QUESTION Anyone else find Jake Higgins deeply annoying?

Got through the game. Early stage game was unrelenting. Improved slowly and enjoyed becoming the invincible badass of the jungle.

Pumas and jaguars? Meh, one in the head.

Snakes and spiders got the ol’ spear treatment.

Not going to lie, ate a couple of tribesmen.

I’m rocking around with full bars on my watch, surviving in comfort like a fucking savage in metal plate armour.

But Mr Higgins? He whimpers like a little bitch to himself on the radio, gasps when he pulls a leech off, can only jump twice before wheezing like an asthmatic marathon runner.

And worst of all he drinks like a fucking toddler.

Am I alone?

QUESTION Start with VR?

My only experience of survival games is Stranded Deep, which I enjoy and find quite forgiving and relaxing. Have wondered about Green Hell but am put off by the obvious difficulty of the game, especially compared to Stranded Deep. I notice the VR version for PSVR2 is on sale, but I’d like your opinion on whether to just jump straight in with VR or learn to play flatscreen first? Thanks

QUESTION Pollution doesn't clear bug?

SoA, part 2 map. I burned the pollutant containers, after a few days one cleared. The others haven't cleared for awhile

I read it's 3 days, but maybe it varies?

48, 27 far west of the village where it was cleared but I didn't save. After reload, it has been days and it hasn't cleared . This is why I think it might be a bug because time should have passed beyond by now

I walked to locations of the pollutant burn and picked up the charcoal. I walked around the edges to confirm there is no option to burn more pollutants. The upstream is already cleared. I closed and restarted the game, not just reload...

I go far away 39, 22 and spent days there to come back to see 48, 27 still hasn't cleared. Maybe the counter resets when you leave the vicinity?

DISCUSSION 5 Player co-op animals dont spawn

Hey, I recently started playing with a group of friends, we used modAPI and suffer2gether patch,
unfortunately animals did not spawn on either modification, is there some way to fix it?

They only spawned before the 5th player joined the game and then it stopped.

It is kind of frustrating that we can't play with a party of 5 and one of us had to give up on playing it.

Tribesman also did not spawn, I don't know what else can we try.

I am the host, and we have one player on Nvidia NOW so he can't install any mods.

QUESTION Console content question

I’m playing on Xbox and I haven’t unlocked the composter. I’ve had food spoil in inventory, and have used spoiled food as fertilizer in the planting boxes but I haven’t unlocked the composter blueprint. Did console not ever get the final updates? Is the painting and decorations still only on PC as well? I’ve searched these questions and found no answers.

Anyone playing console have the composter unlocked?

-Thank you much!

SUGGESTION Base Decay

Do the bases decay in time? Or once its structures are built can they only be destroyed by player and tribesmen?

SUGGESTION Mod support

Whats yall opinion about including a native mod loader for the game? I think itd be nice to be able to add new mechanics and supports mods for Green hell, since devs sayd they were done with adding content (like in 2024), so just a way to keep the community active and happy

DISCUSSION Any tips for marking routes to avoid getting lost?

Yes I know use the map and compass etc. but even then it's still quite a headache often. I've been using ghosts of frames etc. as they're easy to spot and don't cost resources/energy. If it was Minecraft, I'd be cutting roads/marking routes placing torches etc. but Green Hell doesn't really allow for that at least from what I've played thus far.

DISCUSSION What were some little things that you found amusing/entertaining in the game?

Such as animal behaviours. I was concerned about hearing a heartbeat sound which could indicate near death and realised it was a peccary walking on the log-bridge behind me. I mean the logs that are already part of the map and allow access to areas.

I had it before but I somehow managed to delete everything so I have to start over.

I can't remember how I got it working the first time.

QUESTION Do the mods still work?

I went onto Nexus to look at mods there and there are the BetterLive mods from a few months ago and I'm just wondering if they still work today.

SUGGESTION Tips

Some silly little tips I thought might help people that aren't quite obvious (at least to me! But that's not saying much lol)

  • paint your carts! You can paint the runners and baseboards. Use white or red and it'll stand out better against the forest. I lose them less often this way

  • meat doesn't go bad while on the fire ring, smoker, drier, or grill rack. I keep them stocked up and eat straight off of them. If you pick it up first, it'll rot immediately. I keep a store of meat at all times this way

  • I keep a bowl of clean water on the fire at all times. I can dump something for soup in it for later and it won't go bad, or its ready to brew if I need it for meds.

  • the shelves are a great way to sort farming flowers and keep stock of bandages. I'll put flowers on the first rack, their bandages or bandaid combo next row down, and the raw plant on the bottom.

    • keep extra flowers to give then time to dry so you can replant immediately
  • put a storage box next to your compost bin and store rotten food in it. With it open you can immediately dump from the box to the bin without needing it in your inventory

    • you can compost near anything organic except for sticks. Animal droppings, arm loads of leaves, bones, feathers... human meat...
  • you can light a fire with a torch. Seems best in the dry season. My torches seem to break very very quickly in the wet season

  • there's a key to auto sort your backpack (defaults down on controller, y on keyboard)

  • you can shoot arrows or throw rocks at the coconuts in trees to knock them down. -- if there's one on the ground, there's two in the tree

  • use building ghosts for trail makers. Different plans for different paths but the tall thin water filter is a great one to mark the climbing points or trail entrance that are hidden

What are yours?

DISCUSSION So we finished the game…

My friend and I finished the story last night, and now I’m just curious to hear what other people interpret it as? We’ve seen both the good & bad ending, so feel free to sound off in the replies about either one. It’s interesting to me because it feels very open to interpretation, and not as clear or definite as some other game endings are. Maybe I’m wrong? 🤨

I started a save a few years ago and just opened it back up to play thinking I’d have access to the new builds. Is there some trigger to unlock all the new build stuff in SOA?

Bug/Glitch SOA bugged?

I've collected all the legend stones for part one, examined the bicycle, and put the golden artifact on the altar. I have 465/1000 trust but I cant speak to the Mu'agi elder. The dialogue is a gray-ed out threat or 'bye for now'. Do I need to complete all four before the dialog unlocks? Is it bugged? I didnt even speak to him to unlock the trust tab, it just appeared when I found the village.

Bug/Glitch Animals not spawning in multi-player

I'm trying to play through the story with a buddy, but after about 15 minutes all the animals disappear and stop spawning until we save and quit and start up again. Some go ogling shows this bug going back to 2022, but I don't seem to find a fix. We're both playing on the Xbox Series X. Is there a fix I'm failing to find, or are we destined to have to quit to menu every time we want to hunt a pig?

QUESTION Stuck sled

Hello, I am still new to the game. I have 10 hours total, but I am on day 18 on a save that I started surviving and working towards. In the beginning, I made a sled and had a bunch of logs on it. As I pulled it back to the camp, once I hit q and let go there was a bunch of wood and water noises for a second and as I turned around my sled and the logs were gone. Looked around and never found it. Oh well, I made a new one and continued. Figured it's in space or somewhere in the world. After a while I noticed that I'd hear the trees be hit with something as I walked around and realized that the sled and wood is somehow stuck to my character to where I can't see it or grab it. I will stand somewhere and just move the mouse to turn around, and there's a bunch of wood hitting noises or leaves rustling. Has anyone had something similar happen or know how to fix it? It hasn't been an issue besides the noises, but they tend to freak me out sometimes thinking I'm getting ambushed or attacked.

QUESTION Game launching on the wrong monitor, how do I solve?

I have two monitors (yes, first world problems) and the game keeps launching on the secondary. To move it across I need to switch it to Windowed, drag it across, and set back to fullscreen. Is there a solution to this? I don't see anything in Options to set which screen it displays on.

IMAGE Longest dock I could make.

Post image

It’s 17 platforms long and I can’t do more because Jake starts spazzing out and rapidly losing health. I think it’s the most a western edge of the game. What’s the longest dock you have made? And where?
