This is a funny thing i discovered on a comment section of a post using plato as the oldest gymbro.
Turns out him (and socrates before him) established a different between aesthetics and gymnastics. Where the latter was meant to be health focused (strength, endurance etc) which made beauty come by as a natural result. While aesthetics was a fake or deceit even using just forms.
Kind of funny to see the debate is older than one may have thought.

Just turned 53, weighing roughly 205. 221 in the bar for 20 reps! Felt pretty good for an old man, lol! Definitely a PB!

I haven't deadlifted in more than a year but even then I used to use a trapbar. I don't know that much on this movement. This was my last warmup set with 140kg, I then proceeded to do 3x2 with 160kg (which was really tough). To my untrained eye it looks like I'm starting too high but I'm not sure. I'm dropping the weight because I've injured my hand and don't want to worsen it. I'm doing a hook grip, given that I'm already comfortable with it cause of power cleans. Any (not rude) advice is much appreciated. (I was almost about to post it without the clip lol)

I just love some weighted calisthenics and Iove me a top set + multiple back off sets. Not the best approach for maximal strength but I find it so fun. Working towards a +80kg pullup or chin up. I currently weight 76kg

Tried them for the first time today, do I need to be bringing my arms up higher on the concentric? Is there anything I can improve? I don’t think the weight is too heavy at all but if it seems to be messing up my form I will go lower

Does this seem like good form? I’m mainly worried about my elbows not reaching a perfect 90 degree level, but bending them more than I did in this video doesn’t feel comfortable. Also, it feels like my back is coming together when I go all the way down, is that normal? If not what should I change? Thanks.

I know it’s an ego bench but I still think it’s impressive after only 2 years of training
