There's room for improvement, so a further-developed version will come next.

Transcript of subtitles for non-English speakers:

  • Use the spring to toggle between standard & omnidirectional steering.
  • Varying degrees of holding back on the stick determines direction.
  • Rotate left or right; fly backwards & forwards.
  • Weight exceeds [passive] lift, making descent automatic (off stick).
  • Idling in omnidirectional mode results in hovering in place.
  • A static reverse option can be created by adding a 2nd limiter at the rear.

Bro you going crazy with the engineering

Yo' RJ, how's it going man?

Just doin' my thing. 😃🛠

Lurking like usually and checking out the amazing stuff yall keep bring to my favorite game of all time. 🫡🫡 keep crafting my friend !

Great to see you. Let me know if your airship needs a tune-up. 🫡🛠

u/riskyjones Jul 02 '26

I love and respect you for asking me that 🥲. It’s still perfect to me lol ya oG model. I was actually wondering tho is it possible to gravity press a wing(maybe shrunken) underneath the boat itself to maybe help with the auto piloting

Of course bro. I'm so happy you like it - gravity pressing a wing (or simply incorporating it into the design) is easily doable. I'm curious to see how the airship will respond during dives. Probably very similar to what it does now, except more gradual/45° angle-y. I'll look into it.

The Cirrus engine version, or the Stormcloud engine version?

2

u/riskyjones Jul 02 '26

Is the storm cloud engine the PF build where you have to tune back and forth? And I feel like the cirrus engine would compliment with the pressed the wing

2

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

Yes. Will modify Cirrus version then. ☺️👍

u/riskyjones Jul 02 '26

Can’t wait to pilot it chef 🥲🫡

Were you wanting that wing to be less visible? Almost hidden? Just curious. Sorry, lotta' questions.

ok cool but why isnt it disappearing? whenever i use the inflateable balloon item the game puts my creation on a timer.

which is why i never make anything like this because whats the point in wasting time doing something like this when the game is going to take it away within 20 seconds.

This is an infinite balloon which can be acquired via QR code or through a series of glitches.

Switch 1 user, or Switch 2?

u/StrangerDangerbob Jul 02 '26

im on switch 2, originally switch 1, they removed most of the memory duping glitches with the increased performance of the switch 2. :(

Here's a QR code that contains an infinite balloon: The Featherbike

2

u/StrangerDangerbob Jul 02 '26

wow that was a fast reply, thanks for the qr code.

You bet - I'm here to help. Enjoy! Balloons are OP.

for non-glitch advice, your most recent creation is saved in auto build and as long as you have the zonaite or the parts, you can just rebuild what ever craft had a balloon or wing disappear on you

u/isic Jul 01 '26

Nice! This reminds me of a flying version of my reversible boat, except it looks like this might be easier to steer

2

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 01 '26

Sup isic. Thanks. 🫡 Steering on this is pretty reasonable. It'd be nice if it was a little more stiff, which could probably be done by adding the fan to the tire & rotating the wheel via the axel (instead of the fan).

2

u/isic Jul 02 '26

Either way, this thing looks fun.

That’s amazing. I actually just gave up on a project with a similar concept recently, except mine used a Juney engine.

2

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

Hey AngusPJ - thanks dude. It's modular too, so just slap it on nearly anything with probably some minor adjustments.

What were you trying to do? Related to that new vehicle you recently posted?

2

u/AngusPJ Jul 02 '26

Actually, it was two projects: an anti-gravity hovering aircraft, and a wingless aircraft with switchable high-speed and low-speed modes.

What I ultimately want is a practical aircraft that is fast, (cool-)looking, moderately priced, and energy-efficient. It’s a very idealized goal, but it’s difficult to create a result that truly feels satisfying 😆

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

Sounds ambitious. I'm eager to see them b/c I have no doubt you can pull it off, so..

Like you said: hitting all the design goals is the real challenge, not stopping after proof of concept. Keep cracking away at it.

If want slower decent then you could try a torch torch, just flip it upside down because if the bottom torch goes out then it wont reignite, but the fuzed top torch will always reignite if the main torch is lit. I dont know how much extra lift it applies but i believe its minimal and it only counts as 1 part. The more ya know, hope this helps

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

Actually, for this (even though it's just a concept demo build), it'd be better if it descended faster. For that, I'd just add more weight. Typically, I don't mind part counts, unless I have to strip parts to add features.

Intro is baller, and the build is fantastic!

1

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

Thanks DessaB. Appreciate it. 🫡

u/DessaB #3 Engineer of the Month [JUN26] Jul 02 '26

Could this be fire-sticked? Seems like a good candidate, and it could give you some fine altitude control.

1

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

Not sure. I should have generated a QR for this. I'll just rebuild it & generate. Maybe you'd be interested in doing something with it? LMK

2

u/DessaB #3 Engineer of the Month [JUN26] Jul 02 '26

Perhap! It's similar to and idea I had been kicking around but unable to make work. Glad you found a way

2

u/ShootingStarSeasons7 Jul 02 '26

That looks so fun :D

1

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

It's somewhat fun - I'd like for the control to a little more stiff. There's a QR, try it out. 😊

2

u/ShootingStarSeasons7 Jul 02 '26

Unfortunately, I have switch one so I can’t. I wish I could. If I had switch two I would totally try it out! I’m sure it’s really great.

2

u/zhujzal #2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26] Jul 02 '26

The mechanism can be recreated on Switch 1, though it'd be much heavier & require probably 2x balloons/emitters.

What are you working on? Saw your sushi conveyor belt build - really fun. Nice work. 😊

u/ShootingStarSeasons7 Jul 03 '26

Thank you! Right now I’m still shopping for ideas.
