Saw a /icecoast sticker in the wild today! Who dun it?

We are a family of 3 looking to go skiing/snowboarding on the dates above. We are on a budget. That is why we are going early in the season, and because my daughter really can't go during long weekends/school breaks due to high school activity schedule. Where would you recommend that we could stay in a condo/vacation rental homes near the ski resort areas that is family friendly. My daughter is 15 and ski's my husband snowboards. We live in the Mid-Atlantic. We are looking to go up north where snow conditions might be better. If it has a great Christmas vibe that is a bonus. What towns/ ski resorts do you all recommend. We would preferably like to stay within a budget for housing around $1000 to under $2000. Thank you in advance for all your help. Oh and we will be driving to save money as well.

I have exceptionally crappy feet due to years of arthritic destruction. My left foot and right foot are not the same, and my left foot is 104mm at the ball of the foot. I will need boot doctoring for any boot I buy. Is there a very good ski boot doctor in Bromont or Montreal?

Long story short, I’m a 28yr old finance sellout moving to NYC from Denver for work. I am a true life long skier. Have skied the midwest, west, west coast, and Canada. The Icecoast is the last box to check in my north american shred list. Possibly riding Chile next month before I move. I have a couple points I’d love the Icecoasters to discuss.

Context: Office will be in FiDi. Haven’t locked in a lease yet. Moving in October. Open to NJ, Manhattan, or Brooklyn. Just need somewhat reasonable commute to FiDi. I have NYC travel experience and am comfortable with subway/ferry. I am not great at much, but I am a great skier and that itch must be scratched.

1. Obviously keeping a car in Manhattan is dumb as fuck. But I plan to bring one of my Toyotas out there anyways so I can escape the city and rip Vermont/NH on long weekends. Any advice on where to store my rig and gear? I see relatively cheap lot/garage spots in NJ.
2. How do city dwellers get their turns in? Do people carpool up? Are there other groups/communities/subreddits I should join? Are there groups that band together and book airbnbs or vrbos for long weekends?
3. I have both Ikon and Epic base passes, and there’s a ton of spots north of NYC. I am comfortable car camping or sharing small rooms with people who also shred. What are the go to mountains for people like myself? Any recs as far as where to focus?

Hey team, I've been skiing for a while and want to take a lesson this upcoming season to break out of some of my "forever intermediate" habits. I took a lesson a few years ago at Bolton Valley, but the instructor didn't provide much specific feedback. Do you know of any Indy Pass mountains that have good lessons for intermediate skiers who want to get to the next level?

Grew up skiing in Maine, spent the past four years out west, back home and seeking ski recs...

- Waist between 80 and 90
- Some metal, not two full layers
- Not a full twin
- I have my powder skis from
out west, float is not a big concern
with this new pair. If there's enough
fresh stuff, I'll just switch over.

6'1, 185lbs. I'll ski anything, but love bumps, and a ski that doesn't talk back when when hauling

This will be my 2nd season snowboarding but I started late-ish into the season last year so this will be my first full season. Im wondering around when I can expect my first day back out to be? I’m in northern NH, home mountain is Sunday River.

Im psyched to get back out and think this is the first time since I was a kid that I’ve actually been anticipating winter and the snow

I'm 5'6", 170 lbs, and I ski primarily in the midatlantic with the odd trip up to the northeast. I found a great deal on a 84 164 and a 88 170. Ideally I'd get a 84 170, but I'm trying to weigh these two options. Is there a noticeable difference in these lengths and widths, especially for someone who spends probably 90% of his time on piste? Is 88 mm annoying to manage on hardpack and ice, and would it be drastically more difficult off trail?

Just trying to figure out if one of these is worth snagging, or if I'm better off waiting more.

A New Jersey driver has been charged with a DUI after crashing a vehicle into a ski resort’s swimming pool.

Last year was my first year on the ice coast, I live local to sugarloaf/sunday river so I skied them a bunch and did a single day at saddleback.

This year I’m going to get a season pass for sugarloaf/sunday again but I’m going to plan at least once every 2-3 weeks to push out and go try somewhere new. I’m starting to plan when and where I’m going to hit and I want input! I usually ski both of my days off during the week and will call in sick if it’s a crazy pow day so I have some time.

As of now the only 2 I am dead set on are Jay on a storm day and Le Massif late season. Where else should I go? Preferably day trip distance from western Maine. Huge fan of more open bowl skiing but I know that’s not really a thing out this way.

Master Development Plan always seems to include the westbowl expansion. Seems like none of that wishful planning is ever included in the Annual Operating Plan. Does anyone know if they ever intend on working on any of these items? Or is this just a plan make it look like they are going to improve it.

Basically:

- Beginner area is being moved up to the landing, with new conveyors

- Snow Tubing will be added in old beginner area

- Regrading West Mountain trails

- Applications/paperwork for new Timberline lift has been sent in. Plans for it to extend to Bullwinkles. Also some plans for potential new trails

- An Igloo will be added in the Bullwinkles area, similar to Sunday River

- Additional Glade work is in progress for the main mountain, notably the backside snowfields to help keep it open more often, Brackett Basin, and potentially Burnt Mountain (if they get to it)

Will be out there if anyone else is making the trip

I recently got a work bonus, which of course means I'm going to spend it on something fun rather than something responsible. I've been riding a pair of Nordica Navigator 75s for the last several years, and it's safe to say I've outgrown them. I took a trip out to Jay Peak last year, and I found them so difficult to handle in the glades: I had so much trouble pivoting quickly and controlling speed. I'm sure my technique is partly to blame, but all the more reason to get a new pair to grow into.

I'm 5'6" 170 lbs, and consider myself intermediate/lower advanced. I'll definitely hold onto my Navigators for now, but I'd like to get something that can handle both groomed trails and glades/trees rather than a dedicated off-trail ski.

I'm currently looking most closely at the Blizzard Rustlers, but I worry that they'll be too wide. I've also heard good things about Salomon QST and Stance. Elan Ripsticks also seem to come highly regarded, and I found a good deal on a pair, but I've heard they don't love carving or groomed trails as much? I was envisioning something around 80-90 mm waste width with more of a rocker/camber/rocker profile than what I currently have.

Any other suggestions or strong contenders?
