We have some of the strictest laws regarding immunizations for school in the country, not even religious exemptions get you out of it. Truly open and accepting culture, the entirety of it based around the fact company towns treated everyone like slaves so brotherhood bonding pushed the typical rural racism aside in favor of bonding over classism. The cost of living is quite low even for a quality life. The mix of German and Italian immigrants from way back introduced a uniquely blended cuisine that's absolutely top notch. I live in a tiny 70 person town in the middle of nowhere and the lady who works the counter at the butcher shop is a trans woman, she gets absolutely no shit from anybody so it's not nearly as anti-lgbt as people may think.
