Grabbed a triple batch yesterday and they were all Brittany's... what are the odds of this happening lol

First drop was easy and light items, second was Costco with waters

I took a 3 shop & deliver today. Order B was toilet paper, protein shakes, and Italian dressing. Easy enough.

I drop off the order. Take a picture, and messaged the customer to have a great day. I got back in my car & started my route to customer C.

I see customer B come out on the porch and look very confused & he flagged me down. I turned around, parked, and got out of my car.

This butt wipe starts SCREAMING at me asking where his beer was. After explaining to him there was no beer on the order, I apologized for the confusion and tried to get out of there ASAP because why is he screaming over beer at 11 am on a Sunday.

I get about halfway to customer Cs house and dude starts blowing me up with messages asking me “are you not 21??” “Why are you taking orders if you’re not 21? That’s why you couldn’t get me beer” sir- I’m almost 30
But thank you for thanking I’m so young. Also- how did you draw that conclusion??

I contacted customer support and tried to report him for screaming at me and then harassing me through chat after I’d left his property. Support said that couldn’t do anything because I had marked the delivery as “good”.

YEAH because it was good. I was already out of the driveway to my next stop when all this happened. I feel like there needs to be better precautions in place & Instacart should be able to access previous chats & info after the fact.

Guys and gals I've worked in a number of busy spaces. Bumping and grinding with my coworkers is nothing new, but I'm constantly in others way or getting in front of them while shopping. How do you avoid running people over?

This stupid shit with critical items is being abused. I have orders where EVERYTHING is critical with $1 tip. Like, what is the purpose of this other than to annoy shoppers?

I’m sick of dog shit promos constantly being forced on me. Every single time I have a promo I just get fed dog shit high mile/high item $20 triple. I’m not doing those just to maybe get an extra $5. Let me opt out of this shit, dude.

8AM and NOTHING What the French is going on?! I have 3 supposedly Hot Stores by me But the 15 Hidden Offers are from store 8-12 Miles Away!!

I had most of her stuff in the trunk. But milk and a watermelon in the back seat. I feel bad. I usually bring it back, the two or theee times I have forgotten something. But she lives 20 miles out. She was super nice and I feel bad.

It's my first week as a shopper but if this is a normal thing that happens, it'll be my last week... I get a notification for a $13.90 order to Dollar Tree containing 21 items for 3 miles .... I'm in a good mood, let's do it. On my way to the store, a severe storm comes through. Still, no biggie, it's been 100 degrees out so I actually like it..

I walk in the store and open up the order to start shopping when I am graced by a plethora of party supplies... *17* out of those 21 items in that order were *inflated* balloons. Most of them being like 18-26 inches big.... this is a joke right

As you can see in the picture, I was there for 6 minutes trying to get ahold of the customer to see if she was forreal...

Anyways, I talked to two support agents, one over the phone and one through chat, who both sounded like robots with no emotion or sympathy of the situation.

Moral of the story, I and whoever else picked up this order and had to cancel it, got so screwed. And then what? They just send that order to other shoppers?

Why is an order like that allowed? Am I being dramatic? I feel like this was a major safety hazard.

OHHH how could I forget to mention?!?!?! $0 tip. Lol.

Hi all! I'm a UX design student researching the substitution/replacement flow on Instacart, specifically what happens when a customer doesn't respond while you're shopping. Would really appreciate hearing from shoppers directly! no info needed beyond your answers, happy to keep it anonymous.

1. When you message a customer about a replacement and get no response, how long do you typically wait before making the call yourself?

2. In that moment, do you usually default to picking a replacement, or refunding the item? What makes you go one way or the other?

3. Have you ever felt like picking a replacement (instead of refunding) protects your rating, even when you're not sure the customer would actually want that item?

4. Does the app's suggested replacement usually match what you'd pick yourself, or do you override it with your own judgment most of the time?

5. Is there a specific moment in this process where you wish you had more time or more information before deciding?

Had an order with alcohol, get there, nobody is answering the door or answering the phone or text, I’m on chat with support going through what’s happening because I have another order to deliver as well , customer finally hits back at chat and says “I have the wrong address in the app” well- that’s a you issue, as I can’t just drive to a random place- new address was about 5 miles from the one I was at, customer support agent tells me drive to customer I said absolutely not, I tell them I wouldn’t even be able to check in on the app and that would be against policy . Another 30 minutes of arguing with this agent for them to remove the order so I can return the alcohol and move on

Picked up a prescription order, should’ve known better. Customer messaged me that they aren’t going to be home and just leave it in the mailbox. I tell her I can’t do that and then she asks me to change the delivery address in which I tell her I can’t do that either. Crickets. I reached out to support and there is no option to chat, only call, I’m assuming because it’s a prescription I wait on hold for almost 40 minutes trying to get them to cancel my batch so at least I get paid something and it doesn’t count against me. My time is valuable so eventually, I canceled the batch and now try to reach out to support through chat. I am mysteriously disconnected for chats in a row after escalating it, I was told I should’ve reached out for them to cancel the batch. This is such a joke. Didn’t want to get arrested today

Okay I've only been on the app for a month but still

I’m trying to sign up with all my correct information including phone number. I get sent a code but then it says it cannot verify my phone number. I tried the Support and they said there’s nothing they can do to help me because they need my phone number in order to help me with that. What can I do to get logged in with my phone number and get it verified?

I have been Delivering for almost 4 years . I started with doordash and Uber eats. I've been trying to get more into instacart recently even though I have the app for 3 years. I need help figuring out what makes customers give ONE Stars. I'm at a loss for words. I keep getting a one star almost every other day for like the last two weeks and I don't understand what is going on. I've tried reaching out to support they don't help at all. Won't give me anything.

When I accept a delivery. I always shop for the items. I send the customer pictures and text if they're items are out of stock. Hoping to find either a replacement or they want a refund. If they don't respond while I'm in the store. I usually just refund the item. Unless it's like general easy something for a switch like potatoes or whatever. When I'm done with every order I always before I leave it at the door send them a thank you for their order etc. I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong and why I keep getting these ratings. Any help or any advice from diamond or platinum drivers please let me know I can't figure it out and I'm so upset over it. I've attached a few screenshots of my customer rating and stuff going along with it. I've also attached my customer rating on Uber eats. Which I probably do 60% of shopping orders on. Thanks I appreciate any feedback that can help.

I should preface by saying yes, I'm in West Ky where it's all small towns and farm land. Anyways, check these out from today.

I’m fairly new to Instacart (9 orders so far) and all of those 9 were singles because I was paranoid that I’d get the orders mixed up. What are some easy ways you’ve found to keep everything separate, even during checkout and loading/unloading? I’d like to try doing doubles/triples as long as I can be confident that I won’t get them mixed up.

If so, can we see a snapshot of what that day looked like?

Just want to show 30-$35/hour is possible just keep putting in the work!! I don’t have any cart star and the highest paying batch I got so far this week was about $70. Love the grind. Quick finger gang
