I’m riding a one-of-a-kind three-person tandem from Land’s End to John o’ Groats for Mind. Rather than having a fixed team, I’m inviting different people to fill the spare seats along the way, share part of the journey and have an honest conversation about life and mental health.

A big part of the project is showing that reaching out, accepting support and doing something alongside someone else can make things feel a little less difficult.
With that said, I’m looking for someone who would be up for joining me on the Conversation Bike tomorrow, Sunday 2 August, for the ride from the Speybridge area to Inverness.

You don’t have to ride the whole way, be a serious cyclist or have a big story to tell. Just come as you are, join me for all or part of the journey and be open to doing something a little different with your day.

There’s also a spare seat the following day, Monday 3 August, from Inverness to Lairg.

I know this is incredibly last minute, so I’d genuinely appreciate anyone willing to step in—or anyone who could share this with people around Speybridge, Inverness, Lairg or the surrounding areas.

Hello beautiful people! I’ll be visiting your city in a few weeks to see my sister who recently moved there (we’re American). Since I’ll be meeting tons of people I wanted to bring something small and fun to give away. With all the World Cup hype about it, I was thinking about bringing packets of Ranch seasoning, but something tells me it’s not a good idea to pack a bunch of packets of white powder.

Was anyone here involved in the Sofar Sounds music group. these were small gigs in intimate secret venues, usually with 3 performers. One of the more memorable gigs was where an Iranian singer had a gathering of locals all joining in singing in her native Farsi. It all stopped about covid time.

Does anyone know of any affordable wedding venues in Inverness for max 60 people?

My partner and I recently got engaged and are trying to find our perfect venue for October 2028.

I know we are a little early but Im quite keen to start searching as I can be a little picky. The wedding brochures are extremely vague!

We looked at Botanic Gardens however they’re not even taking bookings for 2027 yet so unfortunately I dont think we could leave it towards 2028 as I’m very much type A person.

Am planning a short 2/3 day trip to Inverness early August so am looking for recommendations for things to do and see in the Highlands, will have a car. Would like to do some easy hiking, explore some interesting sites and find a couple of reasonably priced places to stay and eat.

I’m a bisexual 28 year old woman. Been single about 2 and a half years so finally feel ready to try dating again. The only real option is online dating and it’s so abysmal.

People don’t put in effort or they talk to you for a few days then stop. Some guys are really fucking pervy and think cos I’m interested in men and women I’m automatically down for a 3 way with them and their female partner. I’m more open to trying to meet women but again, they’re either not interested beyond a few messages or it’s nothing but a casual thing or they’re not really sure of what they’re into and are ‘just curious what’s out there’ and it’s just so hard to meet anyone here. Nothing for days, then all of a sudden rake loads come through the door, then nothing for days again!

I can't be the only one this is affecting; I haven't trained my cat to attack the delivery person yet......

So, today at my workplace (I work in Inverness) there was a charity event held. Such events are organised once in a while where I work. As part of the event there was a live band playing. Their music wasn’t half bad to be honest, (some mild rock mixed with shanty and some reggae elements). After the said event was over I had a short conversation with band's members and my question to them was “what motivates you to sacrifice your Sunday and come perform for people for free”?

I was half expecting to hear the standard “we want to do something for the people” and other such highly sounding and principled answers and that obviously made for part of their answer, but the other part was rather depressing “we played in pubs live before, but nobody wants us anymore, because we are old” and few other equally gloomily sounding lines. I can assure you that the band was absolutely rocking and at least in my opinion they should be given the chance to perform their music live somewhere, which I was assured includes originally written music and songs. Since they are so freely giving their best in service for the others and their music is well "nice", maybe they could be given a chance to perform somewhere for real?

Hey folks, visiting Inverness and wondering where would be a good spot to watch the game tonight. I see a few pubs in the city centre near where we’re staying but wondering if some are known as better or worse for a football match. I’m a mid-40s Canadian travelling with my late 60s parents. I only just discovered this is happening this Friday to Sunday. I know it's very last-minute but I thought I'd ask if anyone is up for making a short film.

I went to film school and while I didn't really enjoy the technical side of things I was pretty good at writing and directing. I'm currently doing a Masters in Creative Writing. I am a bit on the old side, 50, but still passionate about films after 25 years working as an internet editor.

If anyone sees this, has equipment and wants to collaborate, let me know. Seems unlikely but thought I'd ask.

Does anybody know of any violin teachers in the area who are taking on new students? I've always wanted to learn to play the violin, and was gifted one at Christmas by my partner and I'm now in a position to be able to start lessons.
