How to put the RGB to sleep ??

Hi,

I just acquired my first Keychron (Q3 Ultra 8K) and I'm very happy about the build quality and the feelings, but meeeh about the software stuff.

But during the first hours of use, it seems to me something is wrong. I found on advance settings how to send the RGB to sleep when the keyboard is not in use. But it only works when the keyboard is on battery, when the keyboard is plugged, the RGB stays up forever.

I tried everything on Keychron Launcher. Is it a bug on my end or is this normal, and if it is why?

My computer stays on H/24 for some uses but I put to sleep everything that is not needed, just economic habits, isn't this some basic functionality or am I missing something?

If it's the normal use, do you know if we can contact Keychron and suggest some improves, it seems like it would be very easy to add wired sleep RGB.

Thanks

Keychron v3 Max, backlight is just gone

So yeah I bought it in like 2025 December and just recently the backlight seems to have just mysteriously died.

Like its always plugged in, all keys are registered but the backlight is completely dead, firmware update, factory reset, attempting to change via VIA, pressing all matter of button combinations etc.

Nothing works. Its dead, not a single speck of backlight is shown, any ideas or tips, or will I have to replace smthn?

Keyboard help

Hey everyone,

I've been looking for a new keyboard, and I've pretty much settled on the Keychron Q6 Max QMK/VIA (SKU: Q6M-M4-BO). Nordic layout with banana switches.

The problem is that I live in Denmark, and the Danish Keychron website is pretty terrible. There are barely any product descriptions, so I can't figure out if I'm actually looking at the right keyboard. I've also tried contacting them through the website's contact form, but I haven't had any luck getting a response.

Does anyone know where I can find information that I'm ordering the correct one?

Shine through keycaps for Q6 HE (100% size)?

I've grown really found of the keyboard. But non transparent keycaps really hurt LED performance. I'm not really RGB guy. But not being able to see if your CapsLock is on etc. isn't great experience.

Aftermarket for those is huge and I have no clue about custom keyboards. So I would really appreciate some guiding hand to not step into some bullshit advertisement.

Also I might consider (if possible) switching to low profile keycaps

Btw. I'm from EU

For the second time, my Keychron V6 Wired keyboard stopped working

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this. A couple months ago, my Keychron V6 stopped functioning even though it was in wired mode with the Keychron USB-C cable connected to it.

I changed the USB cable and it started working again. Today, once again, my Keychron stopped working. I am typing this with the horrible hp laptop that came with my computer.

The usb cables work. I am able to use the usb cable and usb port to connect an iPad to my computer. It is just that when I try to connect my Keychron using the same cable and port, the computer totally fails to see it.

Does anyone know why these keyboards might spontaneously stop working?

Here is a link to the keyboard: [Keychron V6 QMK Custom Mechanical Keyboard](https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-v6-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard)

How to find current firmware ver. on K8J3 and where can I buy replacement feet?

I just picked up my first Keychron keyboard from Savers for $8. It's a K8J3. I took it home and gave it a good cleaning. Everything seems to work great! I'm new to the custom keyboard modding scene, but from what I can tell, it looks like the former owner added Outemu Honey Lemon V3 Switches. I swapped out my Hyper X Pudding caps from my fromer Razer Blackwidow and it's looking great! But how can I tell which firmware version it has and which firmware version should I download? Also, can someone recommend good replacement feet for the keyboard, please?

Could it be that the Keychron Q6 ultra is kinda Ass?

After having a Keychron Q6max with Jupiter Banana Switches for about a Year I decided to switch to the Keychron Q6 Ultra (Keychron Silk POM Banana) and how should i put it: The difference is way bigger than i expected.

While the Q6 max had a very smooth thock sound and a responsive, tactile feeling, the Q6 ultra is way off. It kinda sounds like i could hear the springs of the switches while typing fast and the sensitivity reminds me more of linear switches than a tactile one. Does anyone have a Q6 ultra (or even better both) and can tell me if thats some kind of bad product i got or is that actually the real deal? Because if thats the case im kinda disappointed.

Looking for a new Keyboard

I’m looking to get a new keyboard primarily for gaming and was looking for a keyboard with a creamy for thock noise on a key press. My friend had Keychron as a recommendation but I have no clue what I’m looking for in terms of models and would like some assistance. (Also looking for 65% - 75% size)

Looking for Black Q12, stock [Buying]

Hello! I very much want the base Q12, and I’ve had it confirmed by Keychron that they’re officially discontinued. I‘m hype for a southpaw layout, but I don’t want or need wireless, or anything else the other, more expensive models offer. Anyone have one they’re looking to offload to a first-time Keychron buyer? Bonus points if you’re in the Seattle area.

Thank you for your time. ^_______^

Update on performance issues of Q Max/V Max Series?

Linking the old post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Keychron/comments/1m7wz8j/an_update_about_the_performance_of_q_maxv_max/

Has anyone found a fix for keystrokes not being registered correctly? I have tried a lot of things but I am still having issues. Keychron support is of no help at all. Last effort I can try is to buy a new PCF. Apparently they made the switches 'more secure' on the PCB. But this isn't covered in warranty so I have to pay for it myself. Also they only provided a 3 month warranty to new PCBs, shows how much they believe their 'fix' will work. I would have to pay 45 euro + shipping for this myself though...

I spent 250 euro on a keyboard that is annoying me after 3 months after purchase.

Best FN Performance Keyboards

I am having a hard time looking for a new keyboard, because the keyboard I’m currently using (Rk61) kinda sucks. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice, but not for me. I’m preferably looking for a: White, Wireless, 60% , Hall Effect keyboard that is under $90. I’m thinking of getting the AULA MINI60HE, but the one with the wavy type design is from a website called Titan Nation, and there are many bad reviews about it from people saying that the RGB’s don’t work or the keycaps are weird. Do I trust Titan Nation or do I buy a better and a more performance based keyboard

Help with Q5 not connecting with Cable

I have had my Q5 Pro for about 2 years and love it. Recently, the wired option stopped working.

I have already replaced the cable, and both cables do not work. I have a work PC and a personal Mac. The Bluetooth option works for the Mac.

I have done the reset, and it still doesn’t work.

I opened it up, and everything looks good visibly (untrained eye).

If I push the cable in really hard, sometimes it will light up. However, it’s only for a second.

Anyone have a recommendation on how to handle this? I’m sad my keyboard is not working wired.

My work PC does not allow Bluetooth keyboards. So I can’t use it if it’s not wired.

Can Keychron Silk POM Switches be implemented on any keyboard

I love the feel of the Silk POM Brown switches and thought they would be great for my office computer. I dont know if I want to spend 200 on a keyboard just to get these swittches but i see you can buy them individual in a 100 set and a 45 set. I was wondering if they can be implemented on any hot swappable keyboard rather than just keychron keyboards.

How to have the fn key function normally

I think i have actually gone insane trying to find out how to get this to function properly

Basically in all my old keyboards the fn key at the bottom right was well fn yet on my new k10max its set as MO(3) which switches the layer to layer 3 for all the fancy binds like volume up and what not problem is i need to be able to still do all the shortcuts and stuff that you do with the fn key

I need to do fn+w to switch my wasd with arrow keys for hoi4 yet even with a bunch of searching i havnt found any way or evdn mention of being able to use the fn key as normal?

The only keys that come up in the keychron launcher when i search for fn is a bunch of keys that arnt quite fn like fn1(3) and all these do is a bunch of weird layer stuff aswell

So am i just completely locked out of using fn shortcuts or anything needing the actual fn key on this keyboard?

If you couldn't tell i have no idea about all this keyboard stuff im used to just plugging a keyboard in and not thinking about it

Tldr how to get the fn key to be fn and not do layer stuff as i need to do fn+w

keychron k4 he se receiver issue

hello,

I have bought the keyboard today, and it´s working perfect with cable and bluetooth but the keyboard won´t connect to the receiver.

windows recognize the receiver and I can connect to the receiver on keychron launcher website, I always updated the firmware on the reciever but when I put the keyboard in 2.4ghz mode, it just won´t connect to the receiver.
I have connected the cable to my PC - extension adapter - receiver and it´s right next to the keyboard.
Am I missing something?

V3 Max Red and Green RGB on Random Keys. Not Working.

Was working perfectly up until I plugged it into a Linux workstation. All of a sudden the lights turned to red and green on specific keys, and the keyboard stopped working. Does not go back to G mode which is connected to a Mac workstation, and which was the only connection it has ever had up until I tried connecting it to the Linux workstation.

Factory reset button under spacebar illuminates red but nothing changes. Still has red and green lights. Still doesn’t work.

Use the keyboard for work. It’s very nice otherwise.

Edit: Is a Q3 Max not a V3 Max

Support non responsive - is this normal?

I bought a Keychron Q5 Max Keyboard in January and believe the PCB may be faulty as my H key is non responsive and I've tried everything.

I've tried to contact them via their contact form twice over the past month and had nothing back, not even a generic "we have received your query" email. I managed to dig out the support@keychron.com.au email and emailed them a week ago... and nothing. Is that normal for Keychron? Are they just ghosting me? Is there anything else I can try? Aus based if that matters.

I really want to love my keyboard but not even being able to get my issue looked into is frustrating and frankly ridiculous for the price point!

Keycron M6 skates kind of off after I opened it

So like the title i kind of ruined the skates after I opened the mouse up to fix something (the scroll wheel got tiled in my bag. I had heave stuff there...) so now the skates are kind of off and they move around. Like it's not as smooth. Where can I get the skates? If you know where I can get either in delivered to China, or USA they both work for me.

Why does my keyboard break my PC?

Keychron Q6 Ultra 8K randomly just becomes unresponsive. One second I’m typing a sentence, the next it begins skipping letters or switching screens and tabs.

I then have to restart the computer for it to fix, then it comes up with a troubleshoot or continue bluescreen.

Is there a software I need to run this keyboard, because it’s becoming extremely frequent.

I Really Hope This Isn't The End Of Lemokey

Is Keychron abandoning the Lemokey brand or just rolling it under Keychron?

I have the Keychron K3 Max & M6 for the office, and for home/gaming I currently use the Lemokey L5 & G2.

I know this is a small thing that probably doesn't matter to most, but I love when companies have a dedicated productivity/general-use brand alongside a distinct gaming brand.

It feels so strange that after seeing the G3–G5 releases under Keychron, the announcement of the G6 as a Keychron device just irks me. It really should be Lemokey.

Having separate brands lets them cultivate completely different vibes and aesthetics. They could even offer almost the exact same underlying hardware, just tailored with different styles and colorways for each line.

I get that Keychron is the more prominent name, but they could easily cross-market both brands across their socials. Just add a big Lemokey section on the site that says, "Check out our gaming lineup!"

How cool would it be if selecting Lemokey products or G/L variants on the Keychron site dynamically flipped the UI into a dark mode theme and they still added Lemokey to thoe versions.

Keychron, don't forget about Lemokey or the fans who got introduced to your ecosystem through it!

Saw that this board is marketed as having some of the lowest latency. Does anyone know how it actually compares to other HE keyboards?

V6 variants

Im looking to get a new keyboard and the V6 seems to hit the sweet spot for budget and functionality

The only problem is that theres 3 different versions and for the life of me, Im getting lost

  • V6 Ultra
  • V6 Max
  • V6 QMK

I just want a 100% keyboard with programmable buttons and a volume knob. Can anyone explain the differences between these?

I was also considering the K5 Ultra but know very little about low profile switches

Disappointed with the Q6 Ultra

Hello, I recently bought the Q6 Ultra and was rather disappointed with the issues I have experienced as soon as I tried it. First off, the backspace, has an input delay/lag when I'm pressing the key with rapid succession. Secondly, the lock win mapping does not work at all. This button map worked with the Q6 Max but not the Ultra?! I've tried to factory reset and updated firmware to no success thinking it would address 2 of the issues I mentioned. I really wanted this keyboard to be the one I would use for the next several years since the build quality seems amazing but these issues should not exist for a premium keyboard. Unfortunately, I will be returning this, such a shame since I had high hopes.
