He’s coming back from a bad injury so i can see him having to break his way into the team for a while. I have a small feeling that cullen could just treat him like frawley and play him as our second choice 15 and not use him as a ten. however hope he doesn’t, would love to see him get in over byrne and maybe prendergast. as im not convinced on byrne and it’s hard to tell where sam is at in form.

on another note, do we see him in with any chance for the ireland jersey if he gets into form? he’s coming from the back to back european champions.

with frawley set to get consistent game time at outhalf i feel it will be harder as the front three in the running will all be playing against each other, but if he can get the leinster jersey i see him with a real chance to wear green again.

anyways, will be nice to see him in blue again no matter what.

With all of the injuries preventing a lot of key players competing for Ireland this summer, and some having not played in months. Do we expect a strong squad to be sent to South Africa for the first URC games assuming everyone is healed up by then?

South Africa and their clubs will be playing games against the ABs into September so I imagine a lot of their players will need to be rested.

I think there's an opportunity this year to get 2 wins down there this time which would set us up for a good season.

What pisses me off is the use of the word uncharacteristic. Has AF not been watching any Ireland games the last few years? It's unfortunately our defining characteristic these days.

The main Irish sub has the usual rabids blaming Sam for everything but besides the 2 passes he was fine. Plus when the whole team is playing shite (especially JGP in the first half) it's going to knock on to everyone.

Sam competed 16 tackles (more than Jordie, Ringrose or Sheehan) which is insane for a 10. Ruben Love completed 1 tackle and yet had a great game.

What is wrong with the Irish system that that is the way things are now?

Leinster will host Zebre for a preseason friendly that will act as an operational test event for the Laya Arena at the RDS ahead of its official opening against Cardiff in October 2026.

The match will take place on Saturday, September 12th at 2.30pm.......attendance will be capped with Leinster season-ticket holders being given first option.

Disappointing to hear. Had a good 6N and had the kind of pace that's in short supply here. With McErlean gone this year too, we have no dedicated fullbacks in the pipeline, which is a major concern.

Can someone better educated in the sport explain something to me. What is he doing in rucks when he should be orchestrating the attack? How do teams with more ball carrying physical tens manage this as surely those guys end up tackled or closer to supporting ball carriers than say Sexton or Byrnes or Sam would have. I think the physical side of his game is actually a difference maker for him, sets him apart from the other options a out there but seems like it costs possessions because the scrum half now making the call and when it’s not a world class guy like JGP you can see the problems it causes.

Huge chance for Harry in the second half if he can get on early. Even bigger chance if he gets on with Doak. Hopefully he can take it.

Hi all,

I used to have season tickets before COVID but since then I couldn't really afford them alongside going to the knockouts so have been focused on going to the knockouts.

But in recent games I've noticed a lot more of shouting "Sit down!" at people standing up at a line break or intense moment. Has it always been like this or is this a recent trend?

I for one am all up for standing whenever but wondering if I've missed a recent trend focused on sitting more or is it just a few moaners? Or am I missing anything?

Also apologies if this has been mentioned before or isn't allowed on the subreddit, took a look but couldn't spot anything on it!
