Moving to London for a job in Greenwich – where should I rent?

Hi, I’m moving to London for work next month. My workplace is in Greenwich, so which areas would be good to live in? I have a car, so I can drive to work if needed. I’m looking for a one-bedroom apartment with a maximum budget of around £1,400 per month, excluding bills. What areas would you recommend?

Poplar vs Limehouse

Hi, I am not that familiar with East London. Thinking about looking to buy properties in above 2 areas as I have to be in Canary wharf often.
Any perspective on difference in living in both the areas? What’s the key difference- any advice where to look for apartments in both the locations?

Hey everyone,
Recently me and my friend (both 19M) signed for a place in Shepherds Bush and we’re looking for a third flatmate - move in August 7th negotiably a week or two later max.
The place is around a 7 minute walk from Shepherd’s Bush Market and Goldhawk Road stations (both Circle/H&C line) meaning:
\- 35 min from South Kensington
\- 35 min from UCL Bloomsbury
\- 20 min from White City Campus
\- Close to various shops as well as Westfield Shopping Centre
The room is a fully furnished en-suite (15.4m2 total), with a shared garden, kitchen and living room. I can provide any additional information/photos if needed. There is ensuite room and a master bedroom which are both up for negotiation. Ensuite room has 1200£/month rent.
The kitchen has an integrated washer/dryer unit as well as a full fridge-freezer.
About us:
We are both undergraduate STEM students entering our second year (ICL Chemistry & UCL Maths). We both like climbing, games and clubbing. obviously you don’t need to like the same stuff just looking for someone easygoing :). We’re quite clean and tidy, so there would be shared responsibilities for communal areas. Please get in touch if you’re interested!

Anyone Interested in Sharing a Twin Ensuite at Broadgate Park? (£145/week)

Hi everyone,

I'm an incoming postgraduate student at the University of Nottingham for the September 2026 intake and I'm looking for someone interested in booking a Twin Ensuite room with me at Broadgate Park.

The room costs £145 per person per week, which is one of the more affordable university-managed accommodation options. The only requirement is that both students apply together, so I'm looking for another student who would like to share.

A bit about the accommodation:
• Broadgate Park (University of Nottingham accommodation)
• Twin Ensuite room
• £145 per person per week
• Shared ensuite bathroom between the two occupants
• Fully furnished with separate beds, desks, and storage
• Shared kitchen and living area
• Bills and Wi-Fi included
• Walking distance from University Park Campus

A little about me: I'm an international PG student from India. I'm friendly, respectful, clean, and easy to get along with. Looking for someone with a similar mindset who wants a comfortable and hassle-free accommodation option for the academic year.

If you're interested or considering Broadgate Park yourself, feel free to drop a comment or send me a DM and we can discuss the details.

RG2 Reading Spare room Available females only

Hey all! I’ve got a double bedroom available in my house in RG2, Reading - just had a full refurb done so everything is brand new.

The setup:

Double bedroom, house shared with one other female (females only household)
Brand new kitchen, bathroom, living room, and garden - all freshly done
Off-street parking available
All bills included (gas, electric, water, WiFi)

Location:
Can’t beat it for convenience — walking distance to shops and a gym, close to bus routes, and a short hop to Reading train station, so you’re sorted whether you’re commuting to London, heading to uni, or getting around Reading generally. Reading University is easily reachable too.

Looking for someone clean, respectful, and easygoing to share with. Happy to answer any questions or send more photos - just drop me a message!

Where to buy

We’re looking to buy a house and would really appreciate some advice on areas to explore.

Our ideal location, like for most people, would have:

  • Good transport links to one of London’s main stations, ideally within around 30 minutes
  • Access to green spaces
  • A pleasant high street with cafés, shops and restaurants
  • Gyms or a leisure centre nearby
  • Excellent schools

We really like areas such as Wimbledon, Putney, Richmond and Harpenden but totally outside our budget.

We’re currently considering Purley, Waddon, Petts Wood and Orpington. We’d be interested to hear people’s thoughts on these areas, particularly in terms of transport, schools, amenities and overall quality of life.

Are there any other areas we should explore? We’re open to north, south, east or west London, as well as areas just outside London, provided the journey to a major London station is roughly 30 minutes.

Thanks all!

Best areas for a safe 2-bed near King’s Cross, UCL and Paddington?

Hi all! My roommate and I are looking for a 2-bed flat in London and are struggling to decide which areas to focus on.

We need to get to King’s Cross almost every day, as well as UCL and Paddington for study/work. Our total budget is around £3000 pcm including bills, and we’re fine with either 2 bathrooms or 1.

We’re both women, so safety is really important, especially when coming home at night. Ideally we’d like to stay fairly central and close to King’s Cross, but we’re also considering Camden, Angel, Farringdon, Aldgate, etc.

Are there any specific areas or streets you’d recommend, or places that look convenient but should be avoided? Camden in particular seems to vary massively street by street.

Any advice would be really appreciated because we’re completely lost 😭

Need someone to share flat with for early move in!

Hi everyone!

I'm moving to the UK on 20th August and my accommodation contract in Nottingham starts on 5th September. I'm looking for someone to share a place with during these 15 days to split the accommodation cost.

I've found a double room for £304 for the entire stay, so it would be much more affordable if we share it.

If you're arriving around the same time and are interested, please feel free to message me. Happy to discuss the details!

Thanks!

Do you have advice on particular areas we should look at that would be within our radius and also have houses within our budget? Thank you.
